HL-4570CDWIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible office printing color documents over a local or shared network connection without requiring a scanner.

The main tradeoff

Single-pass describes its color print engine; the base CDW excludes the extra 500-sheet tray supplied with the CDWT.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the base CDW color-print Legal duplex over Ethernet with 300 included sheets and 30 Letter ppm?

Qualifies for the documented desktop arrangement, suitable paper and included cassette plus MP tray. The 30 ppm figure is separately the one-sided Letter rating.

Does single-pass mean it can scan both sides of my originals?

Fails: single-pass here describes the color printing engine. The HL-4570CDW is print-only and has no document scanner or feeder.

Does the base CDW include 800 sheets of input without another tray?

Fails: its included cassette and MP tray total 300 sheets. The extra 500-sheet tray is standard on CDWT, a different supplied configuration.

Color network printing in the base CDW configuration

The Brother HL-4570CDW suits a compatible office that needs color laser printing over USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi without a multifunction scanner. Its cassette and multipurpose tray provide 300 sheets of included ordinary input, and the documented US duplex routine turns suitable Letter and Legal output automatically. The deciding configuration detail is the missing T: the extra 500-sheet lower tray belongs to the separately supplied CDWT package.

This is an earlier equipment reference based on Brother’s exact US specification and original USA guide. It does not promise current stock, individual condition or compatibility with every new operating system. The maker calls the color printing engine single-pass. That phrase describes the printing technology, not a document scanner, an ADF or single-pass duplex capture of originals.

Automatic duplex has a specific US media list

The original Windows and BR-Script automatic-duplex instructions list Letter, Legal and Folio. They also specify suitable media and settings; bond paper is excluded from that routine, and glossy paper requires its particular MP handling. Ordinary A4 simplex support is a separate fact. A generic speed row mentioning A4 duplex should not override the actual US media list to promise that regional paper arrangement.

The exact HL-4570 column gives up to 30 one-sided Letter ppm or 28 A4 ppm in black or color, rather than the nearby 4150 model’s slower figures. Automatic duplex uses a separate sides-per-minute condition. These are manufacturer declarations, not measurements made here. Document complexity, wireless connection and printer calibration can affect real job timing under the guide’s stated conditions.

Count both included inputs and exclude the optional lower tray

The main cassette holds 250 sheets and the MP tray another 50 on the stated 80 g/m² / 20 lb basis. Both documented paths cover Letter, Legal and A4 dimensions, giving 300 included ordinary sheets. Suitable envelopes, labels and heavier media need their proper MP settings and loading directions. The ordinary-paper capacity is not a promise for an equally large stack of every special medium.

The lower 500-sheet unit is optional on the base CDW and standard in the CDWT configuration. Do not count it as included here merely because the shared manual lists the tray or an expanded total. The T package is also physically taller and heavier. Someone requiring 800 included sheets needs the correctly supplied configuration rather than a base model expected to contain an unlisted accessory.

Computer connections and held print jobs

Hi-Speed USB 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi are included. The documented ad-hoc wireless mode is not Wi-Fi Direct. A compatible desktop printer driver is required for the selected arrangement, and the original operating-system list describes its intended environment rather than every later platform. AirPrint and Mopria are unestablished from the exact read sources.

Secure Print holds a password-protected job for release from the machine’s panel. The original guide explains that secured data is deleted after printing and when power is turned off. This is different from general device administration or direct flash-drive access. The front USB direct-print routine also has its own supported file types and restrictions; it does not add scanning hardware or make every USB connector equivalent.

Supplies and the loaded base-model footprint

The original ISO/IEC 19798 declarations identify TN-310BK at approximately 2,500 pages and its color cartridges at 1,500, compared with TN-315BK at 6,000 and TN-315 colors at 3,500. Drum, belt and waste-toner parts are separate maintenance items. These are maker yield conditions, not remaining-life estimates or current ownership costs. A numeric recommended monthly workload is unestablished and is not inferred from the print-speed headline.

The US edition specifies 110–120 VAC, 50/60 Hz. The base CDW body measures 16.1 × 19.1 × 12.3 inches and weighs 46.3 lb with drum and toner. Allow MP loading, rear output and service clearance beyond that closed body. Choose it for compatible color duplex printing and shared desktop access. Require an exact multifunction or larger supplied-tray model when document capture or greater included capacity is essential.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The actual original 4570 model column gives up to 30 one-sided Letter ppm or 28 A4 ppm in black or color. Duplex has a separate sides-per-minute condition; generic A4 duplex speed labeling does not override US media restrictions.

Paper handling

Included 250-sheet cassette plus 50-sheet MP tray total 300 sheets on the 80 g/m² / 20 lb basis, with Letter, Legal and A4 dimensions on both paths. The lower 500-sheet tray is optional on CDW and standard on CDWT. US automatic print duplex supports Letter, Legal and Folio.

Computer and mobile connections

Included Hi-Speed USB 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi. Ad-hoc mode is not Wi-Fi Direct. Front USB direct-file printing is a different port and routine from the desktop host connection and does not create a scanner.

Supplies and declared yields

Original ISO/IEC 19798 declarations: TN-310BK approximately 2,500 pages and TN-310C/M/Y 1,500; TN-315BK 6,000 and TN-315C/M/Y 3,500. DR-310CL drum, BU-300CL belt and WT-300CL waste box are separate maintenance parts.

Electrical edition and setup

US 110–120 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Base CDW body 16.1 × 19.1 × 12.3 in. and 46.3 lb with drum/toner; CDWT is taller and heavier with its extra tray. No numeric recommended monthly volume is inferred from rated speed.
