Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can it print Letter over ordinary Wi-Fi for a 2,000-page monthly workload with 250 sheets loaded?
Yes. The exact sources establish ordinary Wi-Fi printing, 250-sheet Letter input and a recommended monthly maximum of 2,000.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the contradictory duplex Yes row mean it prints both sides automatically?
No. The exact model’s other row says no, and the actual operating guide excludes HL-L2305W from automatic-duplex models.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the Ethernet wording in the product title establish a wired-network port?
No. The actual standard-interface list identifies USB, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct; no included Ethernet plan is established.
Explore this need in the finder →A compact wireless printer whose conflicting web fields need care
The Brother HL-L2305W is an earlier dedicated monochrome printer for a home desk or small office that needs ordinary USB or wireless printing. Its useful basics are a 250-sheet cassette, a separate manual feed and a relatively small cabinet. Its deciding limitation is the absence of automatic two-sided output. The exact US page contains a contradictory “Automatic Duplex Printing: Yes” row, but another exact row says no, and the actual operating guide explicitly lists automatic-duplex models without HL-L2305W.
The same page’s title also adds “Ethernet,” while its exact standard-interface list and product narrative identify wireless and USB connections. This assessment follows the actual model-qualified interface evidence rather than turning that title into an extra port. Brother marks the product discontinued, so usable software and the particular unit’s condition need checking separately.
Three printing connections, with different setup needs
Hi-Speed USB serves a nearby desktop computer. Ordinary 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi can share the printer through an appropriate network, while Wi-Fi Direct provides a separate peer connection. A wireless radio and a peer-printing feature are not the same setup, so choose the arrangement the intended device can actually use.
The exact US record names AirPrint and Mopria, supporting a separate mobile-printing role on a suitable network. A successful mobile print does not establish every control available in a native desktop driver. This is also a print-only machine: software or support material containing a scanning term does not add a document feeder, flatbed, copier or fax.
The cassette supports ordinary documents, with a separate envelope routine
The main cassette holds up to 250 sheets on the stated plain-paper basis and accepts Letter, Legal and A4 among its supported sizes. A single-sheet manual slot accommodates suitable envelopes and other permitted media. Use the correct size, media and paper-source settings rather than treating the manual slot as a second full tray.
The original model-qualified printer table gives up to twenty-four one-sided Letter pages per minute. Faster figures in the same family belong to other models. Brother also notes that wireless printing can be slower, so the rated engine figure is not a measured promise for every network job. There is no automatic-duplex output rate to assign to this model from its neighbors’ tables.
Resolve duplex needs before choosing the printer
The source conflict matters because automatic duplex is often a basic buying requirement. The operating chapter for two-sided printing has an explicit applicable-model list that excludes HL-L2305W. It should not inherit the listed models’ automatic unit or their driver-specific two-sided routine. If a job needs both faces, manual paper handling must be planned using the controls that the actual installed driver provides.
For an occasional document, an attended process may be acceptable. For a regular packet that should finish without reloading the stack, compare a model with positively documented automatic duplex instead. A similar model name or a shared support manual is insufficient evidence that the required hardware is present.
Workload, supplies and placement give a more useful comparison
Brother recommends a monthly range of 250 to 2,000 printed pages. The separate 10,000-page maximum duty cycle does not raise that recommendation. Choose the comparison around expected regular volume and possible growth, rather than treating the larger maximum as an ordinary monthly target.
The package includes a starter toner declared for approximately 700 pages. Compatible TN-630 standard toner is approximately 1,200 pages and TN-660 approximately 2,600 under ISO/IEC 19752. The DR-630 drum is a separate part, with an approximate 12,000-page declaration based on one page per job. Actual yield and remaining life depend on use and the installed supplies.
The body measures approximately fourteen inches wide, 14.2 deep and 7.2 high, with a 14.6-pound loaded weight. Allow extra paper, rear-exit and maintenance room. The US electrical edition uses 110–120 V AC. A documented automatic-duplex model is the most useful alternative when two-sided output is essential; a wired-network model is relevant when Ethernet is required at the printer itself.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Up to 24 one-sided Letter ppm, exact model-qualified original. Wireless can be slower; automatic-duplex rates in the family table are not assigned to HL-L2305W.
Paper handling
250-sheet cassette plus single-sheet manual feed; Letter/Legal/A4 ordinary input. Actual guide excludes HL-L2305W from automatic-duplex models despite contradictory web Yes row.
Computer and mobile connections
Exact standard-interface list: USB, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct. Product title says Ethernet, but no included Ethernet arrangement is established. Named AirPrint/Mopria use an appropriate wireless network.
Supplies and declared yields
Starter approximately 700 pages; TN-630 approximately 1,200 and TN-660 approximately 2,600, ISO/IEC 19752. DR-630 approximately 12,000 pages at one page/job.
Electrical edition and setup
US 110–120 V AC, 50/60 Hz. Body W 14.0 × D 14.2 × H 7.2 in.; 14.6 lb with supplies. Recommended 250–2,000 pages/month is separate from maximum 10,000 duty.
