The Brother RHLL5200DW is the manufacturer-refurbished configuration of the HL-L5200DW monochrome laser printer. The exact Brother record names the refurbished product while describing the underlying HL-L5200DW platform. That connection supports using the matching operating guide, but it does not erase the condition distinction. Check the actual unit, included supplies and applicable support terms when evaluating one. A surviving product record is not evidence of present availability.

This is a network printer rather than a multifunction device. Ethernet, Wi-Fi and USB provide useful printing arrangements, while the 300-sheet standard input and automatic duplex can suit a modest office document routine. There is no scanner, copier or fax to borrow from an MFC model. The main decisions are whether the refurbished configuration fits the intended workload and whether its standard capacity is enough without expansion.

Standard capacity is smaller than the expansion headline

The included configuration combines a 250-sheet cassette with a 50-sheet multipurpose tray. The stated plain-paper capacity uses the maker's 20 lb / 80 g/m² basis. Both inputs accept Letter, Legal and A4 in the documented ranges, so 300 sheets is the useful standard-capacity figure for those ordinary sizes. The MP tray's envelope capacity is separately up to ten suitable envelopes, not fifty of every medium.

The much larger 1,340-sheet figure depends on optional lower trays. It should not satisfy a requirement for that many sheets in the box. Additional trays also change the installation and paper-loading routine. Before adding them, consider whether the office actually needs several paper types ready at once or mainly wants fewer reloads of one stock. Neither use changes the printer into an automatic original feeder.

US duplex sizes and rated speed

The US operation and media sections establish automatic two-sided printing on Letter, Legal and Folio. A4 is supported as ordinary input, but the US duplex list does not establish automatic A4 duplex in this configuration. Use the regional operating chapter rather than assuming that every supported input size is also a duplex size. Suitable paper weight, driver selection and tray setup still matter.

The exact US specification gives up to 42 one-sided Letter pages per minute and separately up to 40 A4 pages per minute. Those are manufacturer ratings under their stated conditions. They do not mean 42 completed two-sided sheets per minute or describe a measured first-page delay. The recommended monthly maximum is 3,500 pages, while 50,000 pages is the maximum duty declaration. The larger number is not the recommended recurring workload.

Native protected jobs and mobile printing use different setups

The HL-L5200DW includes USB, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. Parallel belongs to the separate HL-L5000D branch of the shared guide. The exact refurbished record also documents Wi-Fi Direct, AirPrint and Mopria. Ordinary network mobile printing should be checked in the appropriate network arrangement rather than treated as a promise that every driver feature exists in every phone app.

The native Windows Secure Print routine uses a four-digit password for a document and release at the printer. That is useful when a compatible desktop driver can hold a sensitive print job until the user reaches the machine. It is recorded separately from AirPrint or Mopria. Leave room for loading, output, cables and service beyond those closed-body measurements.
