Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can an earlier Ethernet monochrome printer duplex Letter with 570 included sheets and PIN release?
Qualifies in the documented Windows driver arrangement. The 570 sheets are the 520-sheet cassette plus 50-sheet multipurpose tray.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I require 1000 included input sheets without buying trays?
Fails: the base HL-L6200DW includes 570 sheets. Expansion trays are optional purchases, not standard capacity.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the 100000-page duty cycle meet a 10000-page recommended monthly workload?
Fails: Brother recommends up to 5000 pages per month. The maximum duty cycle is a different figure.

The Brother HL-L6200DW is a monochrome print-only model for an office that values a larger paper supply and flexible network connections. Its included 520-sheet cassette and 50-sheet multipurpose tray provide 570 sheets of normal input capacity. The deciding distinction is between that base configuration and the much larger capacity advertised with separately purchased trays.
Brother marks the exact model discontinued. This reference describes its documented US configuration for an existing printer or a specifically sourced earlier unit. It does not establish a live offer or the condition of an older package. The HL-L6200DWT is a separately identified configuration; its extra tray and larger body are not silently included here.
Included capacity versus optional expansion
The main tray accepts the specified Letter, Legal and A4 paper sizes, with a maximum 520 sheets of 20 lb plain paper. The multipurpose tray accepts those ordinary sizes through its stated dimensional range and holds up to 50 plain sheets. That is the 570-sheet included arrangement, not a promise that every media type can use the same stack size.
The multipurpose tray handles suitable envelopes, with the specification allowing up to 10 within its thickness limit. Paper weights also differ: the main tray is 16–32 lb, while the multipurpose tray permits 16–53 lb. Automatic duplex has a narrower 16–28 lb plain-paper-type scope. The reviewed US duplex list supports Letter and Legal; simplex A4 handling does not establish US A4 automatic duplex.
Optional 250-sheet and 520-sheet trays can expand the configuration up to the stated 1610-sheet maximum. Those purchases do not meet a requirement for 1000 sheets included with the base printer. Confirm the actual supplied trays when assessing an earlier unit, particularly when photographs show an expanded configuration.
Choose the connection and security workflow
USB provides local computer printing. Gigabit Ethernet and built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi allow the documented network arrangements, and Wi-Fi Direct offers a separate peer-printing route. AirPrint and Mopria are supported mobile-printing options in the reviewed wireless-network setup. A USB cable connection does not acquire those network protocols merely because the model supports them elsewhere.
Brother's Secure Print instructions describe a Windows printer-driver workflow. Set a four-digit password for each document, send the job, then select the held job and enter its password on the printer's control panel. The data is removed after printing and is also lost when the machine powers off. This is useful job release, not permanent document storage or a universal feature of every mobile app.
The detailed speed table resolves an important conflict
The exact model row in Brother's support specifications gives up to 48 one-sided Letter pages per minute and 46 A4 pages per minute. The current US product page also advertises 48 ppm. However, the original brochure currently linked from that page says 42 ppm, matching an earlier preserved manufacturer brochure. That conflict is retained rather than presenting every source as identical.
This reference uses the model-qualified Letter 48 ppm figure for its declared-speed field. It remains a maker maximum, not our measured result or a duplex-rate promise. Wireless operation and document content can affect speed. For workload planning, the recommended monthly maximum is 5000 pages; the 100000-page duty cycle is a separate comparison figure and does not justify a sustained 10000-page recommendation.
Supplies and placement
The listed package includes standard toner rated around 3000 pages and a DR820 drum. Replacement TN850 and TN880 toner choices are rated around 8000 and 12000 pages respectively under the stated ISO yield method. The drum's declared life depends on pages per job, so toner and drum figures should not become a simple current cost-per-page calculation.
The base body measures 14.7 ×15.3 ×11.3 in and weighs 26.3 lb with supplies. Leave additional space for paper access, cables and tray extensions. Choose HL-L6200DW when its print-only routine,570-sheet included supply and recommended workload fit. For copying or scanning, select an actual multifunction model; for more included capacity, verify a separately documented bundled configuration.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The exact model row gives 48 one-sided Letter pages/minute or 46 A4 pages/minute; the current US page agrees on 48 ppm. Its linked original brochure says 42 ppm. This source conflict is retained.
Paper handling
Included 520-sheet standard tray plus 50-sheet MP tray, 20 lb plain-paper basis. Both exact input-size groups accept Letter/Legal/A4. Optional expansion up to 1610 is excluded from included capacity. US auto-duplex supports Letter/Legal.
Computer and mobile connections
USB, Gigabit Ethernet, infrastructure Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct. AirPrint/Mopria belong to the reviewed wireless-network plan. The iPrint&Scan name does not add a scanner.
Supplies and declared yields
Included TN820 toner is rated around 3,000 pages; DR820 drum around 30,000 pages at one page per job. Replacement TN850 and TN880 toner yields are around 8,000 and 12,000 pages. Drum life also depends on pages per job.
Software and support
Secure Print uses the documented Windows Brother driver and four-digit per-document password. Job data is removed after printing or when power turns off.
