Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can native Ethernet provide mono Legal duplex, PIN release and 570 included sheets for 7,500 monthly pages?
Qualifies with compatible native Windows software and suitable paper. The monthly recommendation and 48 one-sided Letter ppm are separately documented.

Fails: mobile AirPrint and the exact native protected-job routine are separate supported arrangements.

Fails: the maker recommends up to 7,500 pages monthly. The larger maximum-duty figure is a different limit.
Explore this need in the finder →A larger included cassette for monochrome workgroups
The Brother HL-L6300DW is a discontinued monochrome laser printer for compatible workgroup printing. It includes a 520-sheet cassette and fifty-sheet multipurpose tray, giving 570 ordinary sheets before optional additions. Its useful fit combines automatic two-sided output, native protected-document release and a documented recommendation up to 7,500 printed pages monthly. It has no scanner, copier or fax hardware.
The exact model differs from smaller family members in cassette size, output rate, touchscreen and supplied toner. Its shared guide does not make those columns interchangeable. A front control screen in color also does not change the monochrome output scope. The practical decision concerns a black-document routine and the included configuration.
What standard input and duplex actually cover
Both the cassette and multipurpose tray support Letter, Legal and A4 on the stated 20 lb plain-paper capacity basis. Suitable envelopes use the separately instructed multipurpose path. Reaching the advertised 1,610-sheet expanded capacity requires optional trays; those additions are excluded from the 570-sheet base total.
The exact US automatic-duplex list accepts Letter, Legal, Folio, Mexico Legal and India Legal with appropriate stock. Ordinary A4 input does not extend that list. The original separately declares duplex speed at Letter or A4, but a speed qualification is not substituted for the regional media instructions. An exact-size duplex requirement must remain inside the supported paper routine.
Native jobs and mobile printing stay distinct
Hi-Speed USB, Gigabit Ethernet and ordinary 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi support compatible desktop printing. Wi-Fi Direct and NFC are separately documented. The rear host USB connection is described for an external HID card reader, rather than assumed to be a general flash-document printing socket. Card-reader authentication and document PIN release are different workflows.
The exact native Windows Secure Print routine sets a separate four-digit password for a document. At the touchscreen, the operator selects Functions, Secure, user and job, then enters the password and starts printing. Protected data clears after printing or power-off. AirPrint and Mopria use compatible network arrangements; their presence does not establish the native password routine in a mobile plan.
Letter speed is not a monthly recommendation
The original rates one-sided output up to forty-eight Letter pages per minute, separately from forty-six at A4. Letter duplex is separately up to twenty-four sides or twelve sheets per minute. These are maker declarations rather than personal timing results, and neither is a promise for every document, connection or media setting.
Brother recommends up to 7,500 printed pages monthly, separately from the 125,000 maximum duty figure. A recurring 10,000-page requirement therefore exceeds the documented recommendation even though it sits below maximum duty. That distinction matters more than comparing only the largest number in the specifications.
Supplied toner and installation space
The exact model includes toner declared at approximately 8,000 pages, rather than the 3,000-page starter in several neighboring columns. Replacement TN-820 is approximately 3,000, TN-850 approximately 8,000 and TN-880 approximately 12,000 under ISO/IEC 19752. The separate DR-820 drum declaration distinguishes one-page jobs from three-page jobs. None establishes current running cost or remaining life in an earlier unit.
The body measures 15.7 × 15.6 × 11.3 inches and weighs 29.0 lb with supplies. The US original specifies 110–120 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Leave cassette travel, multipurpose feeding, rear output, cable and service space, with more room for added trays. Verify usable native software and the actual installed configuration. Network administration and service access also need practical planning. If scanning or an inseparable mobile-plus-PIN workflow is essential, choose a model documenting that exact arrangement rather than stretching these separate features.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Up to 48 one-sided Letter ppm, separately from 46 A4 ppm. Original duplex declaration up to 24 sides / 12 sheets per minute at Letter or A4; exact US media list still controls paper eligibility. Recommended up to 7,500 monthly pages differs from 125,000 maximum duty.
Paper handling
Included 520-sheet cassette plus 50-sheet MP tray at stated 20 lb / 80 g/m² basis, both supporting Letter, Legal and A4. Optional LT-5500/LT-6500 trays are excluded from the base 570 sheets; 1,610 requires additions. Exact US automatic duplex accepts Letter, Legal, Folio, Mexico Legal and India Legal with appropriate stock. Suitable envelopes use the separate MP routine.
Computer and mobile connections
Included Hi-Speed USB, Gigabit Ethernet, ordinary 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, separately documented Wi-Fi Direct and NFC; 256 MB and 1.8-inch color touchscreen. Native Windows four-digit Secure Print is confirmed. AirPrint/Mopria use their compatible network arrangements; NFC and card-reader authentication are separate from document PIN release. Rear host USB is documented for an external HID card reader, not assumed flash-document printing.
Supplies and declared yields
Approximately 8,000-page included toner on this exact model. TN-820 replacement approximately 3,000, TN-850 approximately 8,000 and TN-880 approximately 12,000 under ISO/IEC 19752. Separate DR-820 drum approximately 30,000 pages at one page per job or 50,000 at three pages per job under Letter/A4 simplex conditions. Neighboring models’ 3,000-page starter is excluded.
Software and support
Exact touchscreen native Secure Print routine selects Functions, Secure, user, job and four-digit password; data clears after printing or power-off. Native protected release is kept separate from mobile AirPrint/Mopria plans. Historical cloud services and external card readers are not promised operational or included beyond their actual conditions.
Electrical edition and setup
Exact body 15.7 × 15.6 × 11.3 in.; original loaded weight 29.0 lb. US original specifies 110–120 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Leave cassette, MP, rear path, cable and service clearance, especially if adding trays. Verify usable native software and actual installed accessories.
