A useful fit for

Compatible workgroups needing included Legal paper capacity and automatic two-sided color documents.

The main tradeoff

Larger and heavier than the single-cassette CDW; no scanner and no numerical monthly recommendation established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can this T package provide 800 included Legal sheets, automatic Legal color duplex and native PIN release on Ethernet?

Yes, through its compatible native driver. The actual original makes the lower cassette standard for CDWT, and all three included ordinary feeds accept Legal.

Will the complete dual-tray package fit a 13-inch body-height limit?

No. Its documented T body height is approximately 17.5 inches, before operating clearance.

Can it also scan documents through the front direct USB interface?

No. The front direct-file feature prints supported data; this is a dedicated printer without scanner hardware.

The T package includes the second paper cassette

The Brother HL-L8350CDWT is an earlier color laser reference for a compatible small workgroup that values a large included paper supply. Its defining package difference is the supplied 500-sheet lower cassette. Together with the 250-sheet main cassette and fifty-sheet multipurpose tray, that provides 800 ordinary sheets. The deciding tradeoff is the larger, heavier cabinet and a print-only function set, rather than scanning or fax.

The exact brochure names the CDWT and shows the printer with its lower tray. More decisively, the USA/CAN operating guide explicitly states that Tray 2 is standard on this variant. A shared table’s optional-tray heading should not erase that footnote or reduce this package to the ordinary HL-L8350CDW configuration. Brother’s replacement chart lists the exact T model as discontinued.

Size and media support belong to the actual feeds

Both included cassettes accept suitable Letter, Legal and A4 paper, and the multipurpose feed’s ordinary size range accommodates those sizes too. The stated capacities use twenty-pound ordinary paper. That is the basis for the included 800-sheet comparison; it is not a capacity for every special-media thickness.

The automatic-duplex instructions in this USA/CAN guide specify Letter, Legal and Folio. Plain, recycled and thin paper are supported, with the documented glossy-paper exception using the multipurpose tray. Bond paper is excluded from that automatic routine. Ordinary A4 feeding does not add A4 to the regional duplex operation merely because a separate speed row mentions A4.

The multipurpose tray is also the instructed route for suitable envelopes and special sheets. Match the media setting and physical feed to the actual job. Glossy stock has an original one-sheet multipurpose restriction; the fifty-sheet ordinary-paper headline should not be carried into that special-media routine.

Choose a compatible native or mobile connection

The printer includes Hi-Speed USB 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet and IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless networking. The original also positively documents Wi-Fi Direct, separately from ordinary infrastructure and ad-hoc wireless. Check the actual computer, driver and router arrangement before relying on a dated model in a new office environment.

The exact brochure lists AirPrint for compatible mobile printing over the documented network arrangement. The front USB direct-file feature is another distinct operation, with a supported file list. None of these features gives the machine a scanner. The word scan in a software family name or a TIFF file produced by another scanner cannot supply missing capture hardware.

Its standard controller has 128 megabytes of memory and a two-line display. Additional memory is an option. PCL6 and BR-Script 3 are documented, but the selected driver still determines which controls appear and how the job is submitted.

Protected documents wait for their actual password

The native Secure Print instructions explain assigning a password in the driver, then selecting the user and job at the printer’s Secure key and entering the registered four-digit password. The job does not print on arrival. This is an actual held-output routine rather than a generic access-control label.

Secure documents are deleted after one print or power-off. A full spool area produces a Print Data Full condition. Keep those memory limits and native-software requirements attached to the feature; do not assume every AirPrint or peer-printing application exposes the same protected-job controls.

Engine rates and supplies need their conditions

The exact model column declares up to thirty-two one-sided Letter pages per minute in color or monochrome, separately from thirty A4 pages per minute. Duplex is fourteen printed sides, or seven completed sheets, per minute. Those numbers do not establish a monthly recommendation, which remains unknown from the read sources.

The original identifies approximately 2,500 pages of included black toner and 1,500 per included color. TN-331 replacements have those standard declarations; TN-336 increases black to approximately 4,000 and each color to 3,500 under ISO/IEC 19798. The DR-331CL drum is separate, with an approximate 25,000-page declaration. The BU-320CL belt’s 50,000-page figure has a five-pages-per-job condition, while the WT-320CL waste box has its own approximate 50,000-page declaration.

The T cabinet is approximately 16.1 inches wide, 19.5 deep and 17.5 high, weighing 61.4 pounds with supplies. The US/Canada original specifies 110–120 V AC. Allow tray, maintenance and lifting access. The ordinary CDW configuration is the useful comparison when less included paper and a smaller cabinet suit the workspace.
