Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the documented US model support 800 included Legal sheets, automatic Legal color duplex and native PIN release on Ethernet?
Yes, for the positively documented US configuration with a compatible native driver. This is not a claim that inherited SKU HLL9200CDWTZU1 maps to that US package; check the actual rating label.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I combine ordinary A4 input with automatic A4 duplex in this US operating plan?
No. The actual US guide lists Letter, Legal and Folio for automatic duplex. The separate UK A4 version cannot be joined to the US configuration.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its touchscreen and direct USB printing provide document scanning?
No. It is a dedicated color printer. Direct-file printing and administrative workflows do not add scanner hardware.
Explore this need in the finder →An 800-sheet US color-printer reference
The Brother HL-L9200CDWT is an earlier US color laser reference for a compatible workgroup that needs substantial included paper capacity and native protected-job collection. Its dual cassettes and multipurpose feed provide 800 ordinary sheets, while each supplied toner color has an approximate 6,000-page ISO declaration. The deciding checks are the actual regional package, applicable software and the particular paper routine, rather than a generic business-workflow label.
This assessment covers the positively documented US HL-L9200CDWT. The inherited research row also contains the string HLL9200CDWTZU1, whose mapping to that US electrical package is not established. It is not silently treated as a US SKU. The actual UK page specifies 220–240 V and A4 automatic duplex, while the US original specifies 110–120 V and a different duplex list. Check the machine’s package and rating label before applying these US facts.
The second cassette belongs to the T configuration
The exact US brochure describes a 250-sheet upper cassette, a 500-sheet lower cassette and a fifty-sheet multipurpose tray. The original operating guide explicitly marks Tray 2 as standard on HL-L9200CDWT. A shared optional-tray heading does not remove that model-specific footnote or reduce the package to the single-cassette CDW configuration.
All three ordinary feed ranges accommodate Letter, Legal and A4 at the stated paper-weight basis. Their sum is an ordinary-sheet capacity, not a promise for every media thickness. The original limits glossy stock to one sheet in the multipurpose tray and suitable envelopes to three, separately from its fifty-sheet plain-paper figure.
The envelope routine opens the rear face-up path and uses the designated gray levers and media settings. Restore the levers after the job, and remove printed envelopes as instructed. Physical operating room must include that rear access as well as room for the two cassettes and supply maintenance.
Use the actual regional automatic-duplex operation
The USA/CAN native-driver chapter specifies Letter, Legal and Folio for automatic two-sided printing. Appropriate plain, recycled or thin stock is supported, with the documented glossy-paper exception limited to the multipurpose feed. Bond paper is excluded from that automatic routine.
Ordinary A4 input does not add A4 to this US duplex operation. The original’s separate Letter-or-A4 duplex speed row is not a substitute for the actual paper instructions. The UK A4 duplex version also must not be combined with the US voltage, supplies and Letter/Legal operation as though they were one package.
Protected jobs differ from user administration
The compatible native driver submits a password-protected job that waits at the printer. The user chooses the user and job on the touchscreen and enters the registered four-digit password to release it. Data is deleted after one print or power-off, and a full spool area produces an error. This is a specific stored-job routine, separate from Secure Function Lock permissions or directory-based user administration.
The controller has 128 megabytes of standard memory and a 1.8-inch color touchscreen. Included computer connections are Hi-Speed USB 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet and ordinary IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless networking. AirPrint and Wi-Fi Direct are positively named in the US brochure, but their mobile applications should not inherit every native-driver PIN, paper or duplex control.
This remains a dedicated printer without scanner, copier or fax hardware. The direct-file USB feature prints supported files; a TIFF created by another Brother scanner does not establish capture on this machine. Historical cloud-service names are not promises that every old service remains usable.
Rates, supplies and body dimensions finish the comparison
The original declares up to thirty-two one-sided Letter pages per minute in either color or monochrome, separately from thirty A4 pages per minute. Duplex is fourteen printed sides, or seven completed sheets, per minute. No recommended monthly workload is inferred from the engine speed or broad workgroup positioning.
The exact US original lists approximately 6,000 pages for each included toner color and each TN-339 replacement under ISO/IEC 19798. DR-331CL is a separate approximate 25,000-page drum declaration. BU-320CL is declared at 50,000 pages with five pages per job, and WT-320CL at approximately 50,000 Letter/A4 pages. Generic later product-page footnotes are not substituted for those named original parts.
The T body measures approximately 16.1 inches wide, 19.5 deep and 17.5 high, weighing 61.6 pounds with supplies. Allow additional working clearance. A smaller documented color printer is the practical comparison when the included lower cassette and protected-output workflow are unnecessary.
