HL-L9310CDWIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible workgroup needing protected color Legal duplex output within the exact recurring recommendation, without captured originals or fax.

The main tradeoff

Base input is 300 sheets; 1,300 and 2,380 configurations require optional hardware. Native document passwords and NFC badge arrangements have separate setup.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can native Ethernet combine color Legal duplex, PIN release,300 included Legal sheets and a 6,000-page recommended workload?

Qualifies with compatible native Windows software and suitable stock. Exact one-sided Letter speed is declared up to 33 ppm in both colors.

Does the standard printer include 1,300 sheets of input?

Fails: the ordinary cassette and MP tray total 300; the larger figure needs optional lower trays.

Can 80,000 maximum duty satisfy a 10,000-page recurring workload?

Fails: the exact maker recommendation is up to 6,000 pages monthly; maximum duty is a separate declaration.

Large included color toner on a modest base input

The Brother HL-L9310CDW is a discontinued dedicated color laser printer for a compatible workgroup needing protected documents within a recommendation up to 6,000 printed pages monthly. It includes toner declared at approximately 6,500 pages in each color, Gigabit Ethernet, ordinary Wi-Fi and a 2.7-inch touchscreen. It has no scanning, copying or fax hardware.

The substantial supplied-toner declaration should be kept separate from paper capacity. The base machine includes a 250-sheet cassette and fifty-sheet multipurpose tray, totaling 300 ordinary sheets. An expanded-input photograph or a large optional figure does not describe that standard desktop configuration.

Optional expansion needs its actual connecting hardware

The included cassette and multipurpose tray both accept Letter, Legal and A4 on the stated plain-paper basis. Optional lower trays can reach 1,300 sheets. An alternative tower arrangement reaches 2,380 using four additional 520-sheet trays and the required connector. Both arrangements involve separately installed hardware rather than included capacity.

The exact primary and brochure name different tower connector codes. That source difference is retained, so verify the actual compatible connector instead of treating either code as an unconditional installation instruction. Appropriate envelopes use the separate multipurpose routine, with its own thickness and quantity conditions. They are not automatically duplexed simply because ordinary documents can use both sides.

Native document passwords differ from badges and mobile protocols

The native Windows Secure Print operation sets a separate four-digit password for each document. The operator selects Functions, Secure Print, the user and the stored job at the touchscreen, then enters the password. Data clears after printing or power-off. This is a specific driver and release arrangement rather than a generic promise attached to every connection.

Hi-Speed USB, Gigabit Ethernet and ordinary Wi-Fi support compatible native desktop output. Integrated NFC badge authentication, external-reader use and function restrictions require their own setup. AirPrint, Mopria and Wi-Fi Direct are separate documented printing routes; they do not establish the same native password workflow. The front flash-document routine is also separate from host-computer USB and the rear HID-reader connection.

Legal duplex and the recurring-volume boundary

The exact US automatic output-duplex list includes Letter, Legal, Folio and Mexico Legal. Ordinary A4 input support does not expand that regional list. Use suitable paper and the correct native media and duplex settings, rather than transferring every size from a general speed declaration into the actual paper path.

One-sided output is declared up to thirty-three Letter pages per minute in black and color, separately from thirty-one A4 pages. The default duplex setting must be changed for that one-sided headline. Letter duplex is separately fourteen printed sides or seven sheets per minute. These are manufacturer declarations rather than personal measurements.

The recommendation up to 6,000 pages monthly is distinct from maximum duty of 80,000. A recurring 10,000-page requirement exceeds the documented recommendation even though it is below the maximum-duty number. Large toner cartridges and optional trays do not enlarge that recurring limit.

Supplies and the actual loaded body

TN-436 and TN-439 replacements have different ISO/IEC 19798 yields, with approximately 9,000 pages per color for the larger option. That differs from the approximately 6,500-page included cartridges. The DR-433CL drum and BU-330CL belt declarations change with pages per job; the waste-toner box has a separate single-sided Letter/A4 basis. None establishes current cost or remaining life.

The exact loaded body is 17.4 × 19.1 × 12.3 inches and 48.9 lb, with US 110–120 VAC requirements. Leave multipurpose, cassette, rear-output and maintenance access, and account separately for optional hardware. A workflow needing captured originals requires another device; historical software and cloud-service compatibility also need checking.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Up to 33 one-sided Letter ppm in mono/color, 31 A4 ppm; default duplex must be changed for one-sided headline. Automatic duplex separately 14 sides / 7 sheets per minute; Letter declaration retained without A4 permission from generic speed line. Recommended monthly maximum 6,000 differs from 80,000 maximum duty.

Paper handling

Included 250-sheet cassette plus 50-sheet MP at 20 lb / 80 g/m², both Letter/Legal/A4, total 300. Optional lower trays reach 1,300; alternative TT-4000 tower reaches 2,380. Connector naming differs: primary TC-4000 versus brochure TC-4100; verify actual option compatibility. Exact US auto duplex Letter, Legal, Folio, Mexico Legal. MP envelopes up to 10 within 0.4 in thickness; not duplex envelopes.

Scanning arrangement

Dedicated four-color toner printer without scanner, ADF, copier or fax. A color touchscreen and mobile print-and-scan app name do not establish capture hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Included Hi-Speed USB, Gigabit Ethernet, ordinary 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, separately documented Wi-Fi Direct and integrated NFC reader; 1 GB fixed memory and 2.7-inch touchscreen. Front flash print and rear HID external-reader routines are separate. Native desktop printer routes positive; no capture functions borrowed.

Supplies and declared yields

Included black/cyan/magenta/yellow approximately 6,500 pages each; TN-436 each 6,500 and TN-439 each 9,000 under ISO/IEC 19798 Letter/A4. Separate DR-433CL approximately 50,000 at 3 pages/job or 30,000 at 1; BU-330CL 50,000 at 1 or 130,000 at 3; WT-320CL 50,000 single-sided Letter/A4. No cost or remaining-life inference.

Software and support

Native Windows Secure Print sets a separate four-digit document password, selects user/job at touchscreen, and clears data after printing or power-off. NFC badge authentication and function permissions are separate arrangements. AirPrint/Mopria and peer printing do not establish the same native PIN workflow. Historical cloud names require actual service/account checks.

Electrical edition and setup

US original 110–120 V AC, 50/60 Hz. Exact loaded body 17.4 × 19.1 × 12.3 in., 48.9 lb with supplies; not smaller HL-L8360CDW width. Allow MP, cassette, rear-output, cable and service access; added tower/trays alter footprint. Verify usable native software and actual optional connector/hardware.
