MFC-7365DNIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Wired office sharing with loose Legal capture and Letter/Legal duplex printing.

The main tradeoff

No built-in Wi-Fi, automatic feeder duplex or Legal flatbed.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it scan loose Legal pages in color and print Legal automatically on both sides through Ethernet?

Yes, with compatible native desktop software. The feeder handles Legal originals; automatic output duplex supports Legal separately.

Can I put it on ordinary Wi-Fi without an Ethernet cable?

No. The built-in wireless interface in this family guide belongs to MFC-7860DW, not MFC-7365DN.

Can the feeder scan both faces automatically?

No. The documented feeder captures single-sided originals; automatic print duplex does not add automatic input duplex.

Wired office sharing with automatic two-sided output

The Brother MFC-7365DN is an earlier monochrome all-in-one for a small office that can use a wired connection. Its practical combination is Ethernet sharing, USB for a nearby computer, automatic two-sided printing and a color scanner with both glass and feeder. The deciding tradeoff is its original document handling: the feeder takes single-sided originals, and the glass cannot capture a full Legal page. This is a compact office platform with clear size limits, rather than a substitute for a larger duplex scanner.

Brother marks the model discontinued. Check usable drivers and the machine’s actual condition before depending on it. The existing sources describe the intended functions, but they do not establish present stock, remaining supply life or compatibility with every current operating system.

Legal documents fit the feeder, while the glass is shorter

The automatic document feeder holds up to thirty-five staggered sheets on the stated paper basis and accepts loose originals through fourteen inches long. The glass reaches 11.7 inches, covering Letter and A4 rather than full Legal. A long loose form can therefore use the feeder, but a long bound or fragile original presents a different problem. Do not assume that a general “Legal scanning” claim applies to both routes.

The scanner captures color even though the printer and copier produce monochrome output. The product narrative and original scanner table establish that distinction; a generic web-table label describing black-and-white scanning does not override the detailed original. The scanner software can use a local or LAN TWAIN source, so the selected source must match the actual connection.

The regional duplex list is narrower than the input list

The cassette holds 250 sheets, with a separate single-sheet manual slot for suitable envelopes and heavier media. Ordinary input includes Letter, Legal and A4. Automatic duplex in the US/Canada original is specifically Letter, Legal and Folio. Loading A4 for one-sided printing does not establish automatic A4 duplex for this edition. Keep that restriction in the driver and use the manual-feed routine appropriate to the media.

Brother declares up to twenty-four one-sided Letter pages per minute for MFC-7365DN. The twenty-seven-page number in the same manual belongs to MFC-7460DN and MFC-7860DW. Its duplex figure is given as up to five pages per minute in the original’s own terminology; it is kept separate without inventing a conversion into sheets. No recommended monthly workload is established by these print rates.

Do not borrow the DW model’s wireless radio

USB and Fast Ethernet are documented standard interfaces. The ordinary wireless interface in the shared guide is qualified specifically for MFC-7860DW. An MFC-7365DN should therefore be planned around a cable, rather than entering a wireless shortlist because the family guide contains a Wi-Fi setup section. Telephone fax setup is another separate arrangement, with a 14,400-bit-per-second modem rather than the faster modem listed for the DW variant.

The software guide expressly includes MFC-7365DN in its Secure Key instructions. A compatible driver can submit a password-protected document that is released at the panel using its four-digit password. The held data is cleared after printing or when power is switched off. Use the native controls and confirm the selected driver rather than assuming that an unrelated print path exposes the same function.

Supplies and placement deserve their own checks

The original supplied-toner declaration is approximately 700 Letter pages. TN-420 replacement toner is approximately 1,200 pages and TN-450 approximately 2,600 under ISO/IEC 19752. The DR-420 drum has a separate approximate 12,000-page declaration with usage qualifications. These are supply ratings, not a measurement of what remains in an individual machine.

The cabinet is approximately 15.95 inches wide, 15.7 deep and 12.45 high, with a loaded weight of 25.6 pounds. The US edition uses 110–120 V AC. Allow room for the document lid, rear exit and paper loading. A model with documented automatic feeder duplex is the sensible comparison for regular two-sided capture; a wireless model is relevant when an Ethernet or USB cable cannot reach the intended position.
