MFC-9125CNIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible wired desktop that needs color printing and one-sided Legal document capture without built-in wireless.

The main tradeoff

The flatbed stops at Letter/A4 length, and two-sided output requires refeeding rather than an automatic duplex unit.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I color-print and scan a one-sided Legal stack over Ethernet with 250 included input sheets?

Qualifies with compatible desktop scanner software and the simplex ADF. The original manual confirms color capture and the Legal feeder size; standalone copying/faxing are separate supported routines.

Can the exact 9125CN connect through its own Wi-Fi radio?

Fails: USB and Ethernet are included. The wireless model in the original guide is MFC-9325CW, not this CN configuration.

Will it automatically duplex my Letter print jobs?

Fails: the documented duplex routine prints even pages first and asks the user to reload them. It does not supply an unattended automatic duplex unit.

Wired color work with a useful feeder

The Brother MFC-9125CN suits a compatible wired desktop that needs color printing, copying, scanning and analog fax in one device. Its 35-sheet ADF can capture ordinary one-sided Legal documents, while a 250-sheet cassette keeps regular paper ready. The deciding limits are its manual print-duplex routine and lack of built-in Wi-Fi. Brother identifies the imaging system as electrophotographic LED, so color output should not be described as laser-beam imaging.

The exact product record is discontinued. This assessment is an earlier equipment reference, not a claim about present availability, individual condition or compatibility with every new operating system. Its original USA/Canada manual is especially useful because some generic current-page cells incorrectly describe black-only scanning or copying. The actual original scan and copy tables positively establish color operation.

Legal capture uses the ADF rather than the glass

The feeder holds up to 35 staggered sheets of the stated 20 lb / 80 g/m² paper. Its accepted original dimensions extend to 8.5 × 14 inches, so ordinary Legal documents fit that route. The glass is limited to 8.5 × 11.7 inches, covering Letter and A4 length rather than a full Legal original. A Legal feeder and a Legal flatbed are different requirements.

The documented desktop arrangements establish ordinary simplex scanning. Automatic two-sided feeder capture is not established in the read exact material and is not inferred from the ADF’s existence. Follow the loading instructions and use the glass for originals unsuitable for feeding. The interpolated scan-resolution headline is also different from the optical glass or ADF resolution; it does not establish a larger physical scan area.

Paper handling and manual two-sided output

The included cassette holds up to 250 sheets of the specified plain paper and supports Letter, Legal and A4. A separate one-sheet manual feed handles suitable envelopes and thicker media with the appropriate settings. That slot is not an additional full tray, and the ordinary-paper sheet count should not be applied to a stack of envelopes.

The software guide’s duplex procedure is manual: print the even-numbered pages, then straighten and reload the stack when the driver asks before printing the other side. This can serve occasional two-sided work but fails an automatic-duplex requirement. The maker rates one-sided output at up to 19 Letter ppm in either black or color. That is neither a measured result here nor a completed two-sided sheet rate.

USB, Ethernet and password-held printing

USB and Ethernet are included. The shared guide reserves wireless hardware for the MFC-9325CW, so its radio cannot be assigned to the 9125CN. The original software instructions describe actual network scanner setup, including identifying the device and registering the destination computer in MFL-Pro and ControlCenter. Compatible desktop print-and-scan software is required; original Server rows provide network printing only.

Secure Print is a documented password-held job workflow: send the protected job from the supported driver, then enter its password at the control panel. Multiple copies are unavailable in that particular mode. The separate four-digit network-scan destination PIN is not the same thing as a print-job release password. AirPrint and Mopria are unestablished here and should not be inferred from a generic mobile-app disclaimer.

Supplies, source identity and the actual body

The original guide declares approximately 1,000 pages for the starter toner cartridges under ISO/IEC 19798, compared with 2,200 for TN-210BK and 1,400 for each TN-210 color replacement. Drum, belt and waste-toner components are separate maintenance parts. These declarations are not remaining-life estimates, a current cost calculation or a numeric recommended monthly workload; that workload remains unestablished in the exact read sources.

The US power specification is 110–120 VAC. The body is 16.9 inches wide, 19.3 deep and 15.8 high; the stated 44.3 lb excludes drum and toner, so it is not a loaded weight. The product page’s linked system-requirements PDF actually belongs to DCP-J152w and is excluded from this assessment. Choose the 9125CN for compatible wired color work and simplex document capture; require an exact duplex or wireless model when those functions are essential.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Up to 19 one-sided Letter ppm in black or color, as specified in the original print table. No A4 or duplex sheet-rate conversion is invented.

Paper handling

Main cassette holds 250 sheets of 20 lb / 80 g/m² plain paper in Letter/Legal/A4 sizes. Separate one-sheet manual feed accepts suitable envelopes and thicker media. Print duplex is the documented manual refeed routine.

Scanning arrangement

35-sheet staggered ADF at stated 20 lb paper basis, accepting up to 8.5 × 14 in. originals; glass maximum 8.5 × 11.7 in. Original manual positively establishes color scanning and color copying, overriding contradictory generic current-page cells. Automatic feeder duplex is unestablished.

Computer and mobile connections

Included Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and Ethernet. Wireless belongs to the MFC-9325CW model column. No Wi-Fi Direct, AirPrint or Mopria capability is inferred for MFC-9125CN.

Supplies and declared yields

Original ISO/IEC 19798 declarations: approximately 1,000-page starters, TN-210BK 2,200 pages and TN-210C/M/Y 1,400 pages. DR-210CL drum set, BU-200CL belt and WT-200CL waste box are separate maintenance parts.

Electrical edition and setup

US 110–120 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Actual original body axes: 16.9 in. wide, 19.3 deep, 15.8 high. The declared 44.3 lb excludes drum/toner, so loaded weight remains unknown. Product-page system PDF actually identifies DCP-J152w and is excluded from operating evidence.
