MFC-9560CDWIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible office workflow capturing suitable two-sided Legal originals and producing color documents.

The main tradeoff

Legal originals require the ADF; the flatbed stops at 11.7 in., and the read sources do not establish single-pass scanning.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can this earlier Ethernet color all-in-one automatically scan both sides of Legal originals with 300 included print-input sheets?

Qualifies for the documented automatic duplex ADF route and supported desktop software. The original USA guide separately confirms Legal-size two-sided input and both included print-input paths.

Can I require a Legal-size flatbed for an original that cannot enter the feeder?

Fails: the original glass limit is 8.5 x 11.7 in. Legal support is through the ADF, not the flatbed.

Does its documented duplex feeder establish single-pass scanning?

Fails the single-pass requirement: automatic two-sided ADF scanning is confirmed, but the read exact sources do not establish its physical mechanism. The print engine’s single-pass wording is a separate claim.

Color printing and an actual duplex document feeder

The Brother MFC-9560CDW is an earlier color laser all-in-one for a compatible office print and document-capture routine. It supports color printing and copying, color scanning, faxing and automatic two-sided ADF scanning. Its useful distinction is Legal-length duplex document feeding alongside a 300-sheet included print-input arrangement.

The key limits concern the original’s route and the scanner’s mechanism. Legal documents fit the feeder, but not the shorter flatbed. Automatic duplex scanning is positively documented; the read exact sources do not establish it as single-pass. A “single-pass” description of the color print engine does not answer how the scanner handles two sides.

Choose the input route for the original

The USA/Canada Basic User Guide gives this exact model’s duplex ADF a document range through 8.5 × 14 in., and separately identifies automatic two-sided scanning for MFC-9560CDW. Its feeder holds up to 35 suitably staggered pages on the stated 20 lb basis. Follow the 17–24 lb original-weight range and the guide’s restrictions on damaged, stapled or unsuitable documents.

The glass is up to 8.5 × 11.7 in., supporting Letter and A4 ordinary originals. It does not capture a complete Legal page on the flatbed. Use the glass for appropriate originals that cannot travel through the feeder, with the ADF empty, rather than assuming every scanner route shares the feeder’s larger maximum.

The surviving product page has generic fields that incorrectly suggest monochrome scanning or copying. The exact model’s operating guide explicitly confirms color and monochrome for both, and the original support specification confirms a color scanner. Those operating references establish the workflow; a malformed generic field cannot turn this color all-in-one into a different machine.

Use a compatible computer and network

USB, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi support the documented desktop print and scan software. The original computer table limits specified Server systems to network printing, rather than the full desktop scanner workflow. Check exact current drivers and required application options before depending on an older unit with a newer computer.

The wireless specification includes infrastructure and ad-hoc modes. Ad-hoc is not proof of Wi-Fi Direct, and the read exact sources do not establish AirPrint or Mopria. If one of those protocols is essential, select hardware whose own operating documentation confirms the required setup.

The front direct-USB function is also distinct from the computer cable connection. It supports specified document files on appropriate mass storage, rather than making a flash drive a computer interface. The Basic User Guide’s Secure key releases stored print data after a four-digit password with compatible Brother software. That does not establish the same held-job function in every mobile application.

Separate ordinary input from optional expansion

The included 250-sheet cassette and 50-sheet multipurpose tray total 300 sheets at the maker’s 20 lb plain-paper basis. Both support Letter, Legal and A4. A separately purchased 500-sheet lower tray can expand the package to 800; that maximum is not the base configuration.

The USA automatic-print-duplex list is Letter, Legal and Folio. A4 fits ordinary input but is not in that regional duplex list. Suitable envelopes use the MP path, and glossy paper has additional output and handling instructions. Do not treat the broadest media accepted by the MP tray as automatically suitable for the duplex path.

Read the speed and supply basis carefully

The original USA guide declares up to 25 one-sided Letter pages per minute in either color or monochrome. Automatic print duplex is separately 14 sides per minute, or 7 physical sheets per minute. These manufacturer figures are not our own timed tests. The read sources do not establish a numerical recommended monthly maximum.

The exact support reference lists starter black toner around 2500 pages and each color around 1500 under ISO/IEC 19798, with separate drum, belt and waste-toner maintenance items. Replacement capacities do not establish supplied or remaining toner. Brother marks the model discontinued. Its USA 110–120 V body weighs 58.4 lb and measures 16.1 × 19.8 × 19.4 in.; confirm condition, software and document access before choosing this earlier reference.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Original USA guide declares up to 25 one-sided Letter ppm in color or monochrome. Automatic print duplex is separately 14 sides/minute, 7 sheets/minute. A single-pass print-engine description is not evidence of single-pass scanning.

Paper handling

250-sheet cassette plus 50-sheet MP at 20 lb plain paper; both support Letter/Legal/A4. USA automatic print duplex lists Letter/Legal/Folio. Optional 500-sheet lower tray is separate from 300 included sheets.

Scanning arrangement

35-sheet ADF at 20 lb supports both one-sided and automatic two-sided documents up to 8.5 x 14 in. Actual glass is 8.5 x 11.7 in., so Letter/A4 fit and Legal does not. Duplex mechanism remains unspecified.

Computer and mobile connections

USB, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g infrastructure/ad-hoc Wi-Fi are documented. Ad-hoc is not Wi-Fi Direct. AirPrint/Mopria are unestablished in the read exact sources.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact US support lists starter black around 2500 pages and CMY around 1500 each under ISO/IEC 19798. Drum, belt and waste box have separate declared lives. Replacement high-capacity yields are not the supplied cartridge yields.
