The Brother MFC-L2700DW is a discontinued monochrome laser all-in-one with a 35-sheet automatic document feeder, color computer scanning and automatic print duplex. It can fit a compatible small office needing black documents, occasional suitable Legal originals and either Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Its central handling distinction is that two-sided output does not mean automatic two-sided capture.
The exact product describes producing two-sided output from one-sided copied or fax originals, while also stating that duplex scanning is unavailable. Those statements can coexist: the printer turns its output paper, but the scanner still captures the documented simplex original route. The shared guide's MFC-L2740DW duplex feeder does not belong to this exact model.
The feeder reaches Legal, the glass does not
The 35-sheet ADF accepts suitable originals through 8.5 × 14 inches under the stated ordinary-paper conditions. It is useful for a simplex stack. The glass reaches 8.5 × 11.8 inches, covering appropriate Letter and A4 originals rather than a full Legal page. Use it for suitable shorter books, fragile items or photographs under the loading precautions, with space for the cover to open.
Color files are independently supported even though printed and copied output remains monochrome. A strict single-pass or automatic reversing-feeder requirement therefore needs another documented configuration. Manually turning and feeding the originals yourself is a possible handling routine, but does not supply the automatic scanner mechanism requested.
