The Brother MFC-L2730DW is a discontinued monochrome laser all-in-one with a 2.7-inch color touchscreen. It prints, copies, scans and faxes, with a fifty-sheet feeder and a separate glass. Its useful fit is a compatible home or small office needing black output, color document capture and native protected release.
The exact model has 128 MB memory and simplex feeder capture. The similar MFC-L2750DW adds different capabilities, so its automatic two-sided input, NFC and toner options are not transferred merely because the machines share an operating guide. A color display and color scanner also do not turn this monochrome engine into a color printer.
Legal feeder input and Letter/A4 glass
The ADF accepts suitable loose originals up to fourteen inches long, including Legal. Its fifty-sheet capacity uses the stated 20 lb / 80 g/m² basis. The separate glass is up to 8.5 by 11.8 inches, supporting Letter/A4 pages and appropriate bound originals but not a full Legal page. A requirement for both feeder and flatbed at Legal size therefore fails on the glass.
The exact product says duplex scanning is unavailable. The original ControlCenter 4 automatic two-sided operation specifically lists the capable 2750/2759 models, while ordinary computer capture applies to this machine. Scanning the second face manually is a different routine and is not promoted into an automatic or single-pass feeder claim.
Native desktop functions and protected documents
Hi-Speed USB, 10/100 Ethernet and ordinary 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi support compatible native computer printing and color scanning. A driver and ControlCenter setup remain part of that arrangement; original Server rows are network-print-only. Telephone fax setup is separate from the computer connection and does not inherit a guarantee for a particular telephone service.
The Windows driver lists Secure Print only for capable models, and the exact MFC-L2730DW touchscreen table positively confirms stored-document release using a four-digit password. That model-specific bridge establishes the feature without assuming it for every family member. AirPrint and Wi-Fi Direct are separate documented printing arrangements. Native scanning and protected release are not promised inside every mobile app, and Mopria is not inferred from a generic trademark footnote.
Automatic output duplex and recurring volume
The included cassette holds up to 250 plain sheets, with a one-sheet manual feed for suitable envelopes and other listed stock. Ordinary Letter, Legal and A4 input is supported. One-sided output is rated up to 36 Letter or 34 A4 pages per minute. Automatic Letter print duplex is separately seventeen sides, or 8.5 sheets, per minute. The recommended monthly maximum is 2,000 pages, distinct from the 15,000-page maximum duty figure. These are manufacturer declarations rather than personal test results or an automatic-scanning rate.
Use the exact toner branch and body
The inbox toner declaration is approximately 700 pages. TN-730 replacement toner is approximately 1,200 pages and TN-760 approximately 3,000 under ISO/IEC 19752. TN-770's 4,500-page branch specifically belongs to other named models. The DR-730 drum is separate, with an approximately 12,000-page declaration at one page per job under its conditions. The optional subscription promotion is not treated as a compulsory operating requirement.
The exact body measures 16.1 × 15.7 × 12.5 inches and weighs 26.0 lb with supplies. The US original specifies 110–120 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Leave feeder, glass-lid, manual-feed, rear-path, cassette, cable and service access beyond the closed body, and verify usable software and the actual earlier unit's condition before depending on its document-handling functions.
