MFC-L6800DWIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible office workflow needing substantial monochrome output, full Legal capture and up to 7,500 recommended monthly pages.

The main tradeoff

Large cabinet; expanded input needs optional trays, and native desktop security controls remain separate from mobile printing.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it scan both sides of Legal originals in one pass and print Legal duplex over Ethernet for a 7,500-page monthly workload?

Yes, with compatible native desktop software. Exact Legal single-pass capture, 570-sheet included input and a recommended monthly maximum of 7,500 are established together.

Does the ordinary included configuration hold at least 1,000 sheets?

No. It includes 570 sheets; the larger published capacity requires optional lower trays.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does its 125,000-page duty cycle make 10,000 pages a month a supported recommended workload?

No. The maker recommends up to 7,500 pages per month, which is separate from the maximum duty cycle.

A larger monochrome workflow with an eighty-page single-pass feeder

The Brother MFC-L6800DW is an earlier office all-in-one for workgroups that need frequent monochrome output and substantial document capture. Its defining combination is a 520-sheet cassette, a fifty-sheet multipurpose tray and an eighty-page feeder that scans both faces in a single pass. It also provides a Legal-length glass. The tradeoff is its substantial cabinet and the need to maintain the actual software and network arrangement on a discontinued model.

The US record recommends up to 7,500 printed pages per month and separately states a maximum duty cycle of 125,000. The recommended figure is the useful workload comparison; the much larger maximum is not a proposed monthly operating target. Rated speed and feeder capacity should likewise be compared against the jobs the office actually handles.

Legal capture is supported through both glass and feeder

The document specifications reach fourteen inches for both the feeder and the glass. A loose Legal stack can therefore use the feeder, while an appropriate bound or delicate long original can use the glass. Color computer scanning is supported even though copies and printed output are monochrome. The original scanner table and actual ControlCenter instructions establish capture, rather than inferring it from a network-printing feature.

The eighty-page feeder and single-pass statement belong to this exact model. Nearby MFC-L6700DW uses a seventy-page feeder, so a shared guide should not erase the distinction. In the software, automatic two-sided capture requires the feeder and the appropriate long-edge or short-edge binding choice. Select the destination, file type and color settings for the required result instead of relying on a large scan-speed headline.

Use the connection and driver that support the whole routine

Hi-Speed USB, Gigabit Ethernet and ordinary Wi-Fi are standard. Gigabit operation also requires suitable network equipment and cabling. Wi-Fi Direct offers a separate peer-printing route, while the US record names AirPrint and Mopria for mobile printing. Those mobile paths are kept separate from the native desktop arrangement used for scanning and password-controlled release.

The native Windows Secure Print chapter sets a separate four-digit password for each protected document. The user selects the held job at the panel and supplies that password before printing. Data clears after printing or power-off. The integrated NFC reader and optional external readers serve their documented authentication roles; their presence does not make every mobile print protocol equivalent to that native password workflow.

Included input is 570 sheets, not the expanded maximum

The standard cassette and multipurpose tray together provide 570 sheets on the specified plain-paper basis. Both accept Letter, Legal and A4. Optional 250-sheet or 520-sheet lower trays can expand capacity, but the published maximum of 1,610 sheets requires additional hardware. Confirm which trays are actually present before assigning an existing machine to a larger-capacity job.

The US automatic output-duplex list includes Letter, Legal, Folio and the stated regional Legal variants. It does not include every ordinary input size. Suitable envelopes use their separate multipurpose routine. One-sided output is declared up to forty-eight Letter pages per minute, while print duplex is twenty-four printed sides, or twelve sheets, per minute. Scan images per minute measure another operation and should not replace either print figure.

Inbox toner and maintenance parts need separate accounting

The exact package includes toner declared for approximately 8,000 pages under ISO/IEC 19752. Replacement TN-820 is approximately 3,000 pages, TN-850 approximately 8,000 and the compatible TN-880 approximately 12,000. The original expressly distinguishes this inbox yield from smaller models supplied with lower-yield cartridges. It does not establish remaining life in an individual unit.

The DR-820 drum is separate, with approximate declarations of 30,000 pages at one page per job or 50,000 at three pages per job. The loaded cabinet weighs 41.5 pounds and measures 19.5 inches wide, 16.8 deep and 20.4 high. Allow document, cable and maintenance clearance beyond those body measurements. A newer supported monochrome model is the sensible comparison when driver support or authentication integration is uncertain.
