Choose the exact four-function color model

The Canon Color imageCLASS MF726Cdw combines color printing, scanning, copying and faxing, with automatic output duplex and automatic two-sided feeder capture. Those capabilities distinguish it from the MF628Cw and MF624Cw entries in the shared manual. The exact model still matters within the higher pair: MF726Cdw uses host-based UFR II-LT, and a neighboring model’s PostScript capability is not assigned here.

Its practical fit is an office with a supported native computer setup that needs both faces of paper originals and confidential job collection. Canon rates one-sided plain Letter output at twenty-one pages per minute in black and color, with a separate ten-page duplex rating.

Double-sided computer capture has a real driver setting

Install the exact supported scanner software. For wired or wireless LAN capture, register the machine in MF Network Scanner Selector and use IPv4. The actual guide excludes the scanner function in an IPv6 environment; USB avoids that network registration step.

Open the supported TWAIN or WIA application and select the machine’s scanner driver through the documented Remote Scanner arrangement. In ScanGear MF advanced mode, Original Input Method offers Platen Glass, ADF one-sided and ADF two-sided. The last option is explicitly restricted to MF729Cdw and MF726Cdw.

Set the original size, color mode, orientation and binding location. Canon limits feeder resolution in this driver arrangement to three hundred dpi. The larger optical-resolution headline therefore does not promise that every feeder job can use the same settings as a glass scan.

Automatic front-and-back capture is established. The read operating sections do not establish whether the sheet reverses or both sides are captured in one pass, so a single-pass requirement remains unconfirmed.

Legal originals use the feeder, not the glass

The feeder accepts originals through Legal size and holds fifty Letter sheets at Canon’s eighty-gram paper basis. The platen reaches 215.9 by 297 millimeters, covering Letter and A4. A complete Legal form belongs in the feeder if it is suitable for that paper path.

The panel also offers a two-sided original setting for supported file, e-mail, I-fax or memory destinations. That independent operation does not eliminate destination setup, format restrictions or the difference between a computer application and a machine-based send job.

Paper settings are narrower than the general media list

The included sources are a 250-sheet drawer and fifty-sheet multipurpose source for the stated plain stock. An optional extra 250-sheet drawer is additional hardware. Heavy stock reduces the permitted stack: the 120–163 gsm category is listed at 150 sheets in the drawer and twenty in the manual source.

The actual size table confirms automatic duplex on Letter, Legal and A4 with eligible media. Some coated categories have an additional A4-or-Letter restriction. Envelopes are not made duplex-capable by appearing elsewhere in the media list, and Monarch envelopes belong only in the manual feed slot.

Generic source capacities are not treated as verified quantities for every exact paper size. Set both size and media type correctly before sending the job rather than relying on a maximum stack headline.

PIN collection stays with the supported native driver

First enable Allow Use of Secured Print in the driver’s Device Settings. Choose Secured Print as the output method, identify the user and enter a PIN of up to seven digits. Release the job through Secure Print at the machine.

The default expiry is thirty minutes. Uncollected jobs occupy memory until printed or deleted, and the Remote Scanner screen must be closed before release. These native controls are not automatically available to an AirPrint job simply because the same printer supports Apple output.

Separate starter supplies, replacement supplies and base dimensions

The operating guide rates the supplied toner at 1,200 black pages and 1,400 composite color pages. Replacement 118 ratings are 3,400 black and 2,900 composite color pages under ISO/IEC 19798 on A4 at default density. A website value-pack figure is not another single-cartridge yield.

The normal body measures seventeen by 19⅛ by 18⅞ inches and weighs 68.3 pounds including toner. The optional cassette changes the height. Provide the specified U.S. 120–127-volt, sixty-hertz supply and additional cover and paper clearance. The forty-thousand-page maximum duty figure is separate from an unestablished recommended monthly range.
