Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can MF9150c combine automatic color duplex output with Legal glass and automatic two-sided Legal capture to an Ethernet file server when output size is flexible?
Yes. Native automatic print duplex is confirmed, with exact sizes unknown. Legal glass and file-server both-face capture are documented. Configure the folder, color/format and original orientation. No single-pass mechanism is established.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I move that computer-capture operation to USB?
No. Exact USB computer functions are printing and PC fax. Computer capture uses Color Network ScanGear over the network. USB memory capture is a different operation.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the normal machine include 850 input sheets?
No. Included input is 250 + 100, or 350 sheets. The additional 500-sheet AC1 drawer is optional, and output capacity is not input.
Explore this need in the finder →Legal glass and network capture define its useful role
The Canon Color imageCLASS MF9150c is an earlier color laser multifunction printer with a Legal-size glass, a document feeder and analog fax. It can serve an established wired office that needs both long-original capture and a native color output queue.
The main tradeoffs are size and connection planning. The actual loaded machine is approximately ninety-six pounds, and its computer-scanning function is documented over the network. USB computer printing and USB-memory capture are different operations, so they should not be combined into a fictional USB desktop scanner route.
Use MF9150c’s own printer-driver scope
The shared operation guide introduces several driver families, but explicitly restricts PCL to MF9170c. MF9150c uses the documented UFR II LT arrangement. Install the supported exact driver, choose the printer in the application and configure the page settings before sending output.
Automatic two-sided printing has an actual native procedure: use the Finishing sheet, select the two-sided Print Style and the required binding location, then print. The chapter defers exact supported print sizes to driver Help.
That boundary matters because the paper table’s detailed two-sided footnotes describe copying. They are not silently assigned as a verified automatic print-duplex size list. The automatic function is established, while a particular exact-size duplex requirement remains unverified here.
Prepare the file server before choosing the panel destination
For network file delivery, configure both the machine’s network settings and the server’s access arrangement. At Main Menu choose Send/FAX or Scan to Store; the latter leads to Store on File Server. Enter or select the appropriate file-server address.
Set the color and file format, resolution, density and original-quality options. The actual chapter includes Two-Sided Original Orientation Settings for both-face sending. Start the capture after checking those choices and the destination.
For a glass sequence, select the original size, start each original and finish with Done. This differs from a stack moving through the feeder. A configured print queue alone does not establish server credentials or a writable save location.
The original route and quantity need their own conditions
Both the glass and feeder accept Legal originals. The feeder’s ordinary limit is fifty sheets under the stated 75 gsm basis, but thirty for Legal. Two-sided originals have a separate weight range, and unsuitable curls, fasteners or damp corrections can interrupt feeding.
The actual network-send operation positively supports automatic both-face capture, but the physical mechanism is not established in the sections read. It is therefore not called single-pass. Its automatic scanning function is kept distinct from automatic print duplex.
For computer-controlled capture, install Color Network ScanGear, select the network scanner with the ScanGear Tool when first required and start it from the application. The exact U.S. function table identifies Windows network scanning; Mac print or fax compatibility does not prove the same scanner route.
Count 350 included input sheets, not the output tray
The actual operating specification combines a 250-sheet paper drawer with a one-hundred-sheet bypass under the stated paper basis. The separate 250-sheet delivery figure describes output. An optional five-hundred-sheet AC1 drawer is extra hardware.
Register the loaded size and type and use the source appropriate to the medium. The bypass accepts media that do not belong in the normal drawer. A broad media list and a normal capacity headline do not establish every exact-size quantity or automatic duplex combination.
Keep toner, speed and space claims exact
MF9150c uses Cartridge 111, with each documented black and color cartridge rated for approximately six thousand pages at five-percent coverage on A4 and default density. The other model’s Cartridge 117 and different color rating are not assigned here. A separate original-box yield is not established.
Canon rates one-sided Letter printing at twenty-two pages per minute in black and color. The sixty-five-thousand-page maximum duty is not a recommended monthly workload. No duplex speed or physical feeder mechanism is inferred from that output rating.
The actual body is 21½ by 20¾ by 24⅞ inches, and the opened installation requires considerably more depth. Provide the specified U.S. supply, plan for its loaded weight and verify exact software support before relying on this historical multifunction arrangement.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
22 one-sided Letter pages per minute in black or color; copy speed is separate. A 65,000-page maximum monthly duty is not a recommendation. No A4 conversion, duplex size or single-pass mechanism is inferred.
Paper handling
Included input: 250 + 100 sheets at 75 gsm, or 350; optional AC1 500 excluded. The 250-sheet delivery figure is output. Automatic print duplex is confirmed but exact sizes are unknown. Copy-only paper restrictions are not transferred.
Scanning arrangement
Legal glass and feeder. Fifty ordinary originals at 75 gsm or 30 Legal originals; duplex stock is 64–105 gsm. File-server Two-Sided Original Orientation is documented, with unknown physical mechanism. USB memory capture is separate from USB computer scanning.
Computer and mobile connections
Native USB supports printing/PC fax. Fast Ethernet supports printing, Windows Color Network ScanGear and direct SMB/FTP delivery. USB computer capture and Mac Network ScanGear are not inferred from print compatibility.
Supplies and declared yields
Exact Cartridge 111 black and each C/M/Y: approximately 6,000 pages at 5% A4 coverage and default density. MF8450 Cartridge 117 and its 4,000-page color yield are not substituted. Separate supplied yield is unknown.
Software and support
Use the exact UFR II LT queue, configured file-server destination or separately installed Windows Color Network ScanGear/application route. Security IDs do not establish PIN-held job release. Historical OS examples are not current compatibility promises.
Electrical edition and setup
Actual body: 21½ × 20¾ × 24⅞ inches; 96 lb including toner. U.S. power: 120–127 V, 60 Hz. Open installation depth reaches 44⅞ inches. Optional AC1 changes height and depth.
