Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can LBP6030w print monochrome Legal documents and supported envelopes from a computer over Wi-Fi?
Yes, with the exact supported native driver and infrastructure Wi-Fi setup. Register the physical output size and media type; envelope loading is a separate supported routine.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it automatically print both faces of a sheet?
No. Canon explicitly lists no automatic duplex. The manual reverse-face routine requires manual refeeding one sheet at a time.
Explore this need in the finder →Can its wireless connection capture a paper original into a computer?
No. This exact model is print-only and has no scanner.

The Canon imageCLASS LBP6030w fits a desk that needs straightforward black document output through USB or a supported wireless network. It is a print-only laser model: wireless connectivity does not add a scanner, copier or fax machine.
The deciding tradeoff is paper handling. It has one modest input source and no automatic duplex. Someone who regularly produces two-sided packets should assess that manual work before being persuaded by its compact body.
Choose the exact printer and the physical output size
Install the supported driver for LBP6030w, select this machine in the application and open Preferences or Properties. The actual operating instructions distinguish Page Size, which describes the source document, from Output Size, which describes the physical paper.
If those sizes differ, the driver scales the document to the selected output. That can be useful, but it also explains why a form may change size even when the original file has not changed. Set Paper Type on the Paper Source tab to match the loaded stock before confirming the job.
A frequently repeated combination can be stored as a profile. Check a profile when changing from ordinary documents to heavy media or envelopes rather than assuming that a familiar profile still matches what is in the tray.
Its single paper source needs careful loading
The U.S. page calls the included source a cassette, while the operating guide calls it the multipurpose tray. These describe the single normal input source, not two capacities to add together. Open it, spread the guides, fan and align the stack, then load the paper in portrait orientation with its print face up.
Slide the guides against the paper without bending it and keep the stack within the limit guides. After paper runs out during a job, reload it and use the Paper key as instructed to resume. The small body still needs room for paper access and the output path.
The approximate quantity is 150 sheets for the stated light plain stock. It drops to 120,100 or 60 as the documented weight bands rise. Letter, Legal and A4 are supported sizes, but the general quantity is not treated as a separately verified exact-size capacity.
Manual reverse-face output is a distinct task
Canon explicitly lists no duplex print function. The guide nevertheless allows printing the unprinted reverse of a sheet previously printed by this machine: flatten curls, place the next face up and feed one sheet at a time.
That procedure requires the operator to handle the sheet. It does not satisfy an automatic-duplex requirement, and it does not permit printing again on the already printed face. Test the intended orientation with an ordinary sheet before using directional forms.
Supported envelopes have their own preparation and loading routine. The paper chapter allows approximately ten and requires substantial margins. Envelope support does not imply borderless output or automatic two-sided envelope printing.
Wireless setup uses a router and computer tool
The exact w version supports infrastructure Wi-Fi in addition to USB; the plain LBP6030 is separately listed with USB only. The manual specifies a compatible 2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n router or access point and a computer already connected to the network.
Use an administrator account and start MF/LBP Network Setup Tool. A compatible WPS router offers a button-based setup; other environments require the manual authentication and encryption settings. Follow the tool and router instructions rather than treating the presence of a wireless radio as a completed network installation.
The U.S. page names Canon’s mobile application, but that naming is not evidence for AirPrint, Mopria or Wi-Fi Direct. Confirm the exact supported software for the intended computer or device before relying on a historical application reference.
Separate cartridge yield, speed and workload
The original manual declares approximately 700 pages for the supplied Cartridge 125 and 1,600 for its replacement under ISO/IEC 19752 with A4 paper and default density. Those figures do not establish a current cost per page.
The nineteen-page-per-minute headline refers to one-sided plain Letter output. The five-thousand-page maximum duty is not a recommended monthly workload. The U.S. body measures 14.3 by 9.8 by 7.8 inches and weighs 12.1 pounds with cartridge. Its useful fit is an uncomplicated output desk; regular duplex packets or original capture require different documented hardware.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
19 one-sided plain Letter pages per minute. First-page time and the 5,000-page maximum duty are separate; no recommended monthly range is established.
Paper handling
150 sheets at 60–80 gsm, 120 at 81–89 gsm, 100 at 90–105 gsm and 60 at 106–163 gsm. Up to ten supported envelopes. Exact-size capacity map remains empty.
Computer and mobile connections
Exact LBP6030w supports USB and 2.4 GHz infrastructure Wi-Fi. The plain LBP6030 is a distinct USB-only model. No Ethernet, Wi-Fi Direct, AirPrint or Mopria route is inferred.
Supplies and declared yields
Supplied Cartridge 125: approximately 700 pages; replacement 125: 1,600. Manual basis: ISO/IEC 19752, A4 and default print density. No current cost per page is calculated.
Software and support
The U.S. page calls the language UFR II LT; the operating guide describes UFR II software. Use the exact supported model package and verify the intended operating system. Historical Canon Mobile Printing naming does not establish another mobile protocol.
Electrical edition and setup
U.S. power: 120–127 V, 60 Hz. Body: 14.3 × 9.8 × 7.8 inches; 12.1 lb with cartridge. Allow space for the open input/output path and service access.
