imageCLASS LBP6200dIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A supported direct USB computer needing eligible Letter/Legal/A4 two-sided monochrome output.

The main tradeoff

No scanning or native network connection; remove Legal output one sheet at a time, and keep duplex stock within the documented 105 gsm limit.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can LBP6200d automatically print eligible Legal monochrome documents through a supported native USB computer setup?

Yes. The exact U.S. CAPT guide supports Letter/Legal/A4 automatic duplex with its specified plain or heavy stock. Legal output must be removed one sheet at a time; that output condition is separate from the input stack.

Can it connect directly to an Ethernet network for this native routine?

No supported native Ethernet arrangement is established. The exact hardware interface is USB; a computer print server would be a separate setup with its own bidirectional communication requirements.

Can this printer scan or copy paper originals?

No. LBP6200d is a print-only device without scanner glass or a document feeder.

A USB print-only model with real automatic duplex

The Canon imageCLASS LBP6200d is an earlier monochrome laser printer for a supported computer connected through USB. It offers automatic two-sided output without the height and document-handling hardware of a multifunction machine.

It has no scanner or copier. Its actual U.S. manual lists a USB interface, two LED indicators and one operation key. A generic mobile-app description on the support site does not establish wireless hardware, AirPrint or scanning for this exact printer.

Use the exact CAPT driver and a bidirectional connection

The documented software is Canon Advanced Printing Technology, or CAPT. Confirm the exact supported driver for the intended computer before relying on an older printer. A generic UFR II or PCL driver is not established as a substitute.

The installation chapter separates a direct USB computer from a computer acting as a print server. It requires bidirectional communication and says operation through unidirectional print servers, hubs or switching equipment is not guaranteed. That is not a built-in Ethernet port.

The exact guide instructs the user to connect the cable with printer and computer off and leave the printer off at the stated installation stage. Follow the chosen supported driver’s installation sequence. The USB cable is not included, and a cable alone does not install the necessary software.

The main tray and single-sheet feed have different roles

The support page calls the main source a 250-sheet cassette and the alternate a one-sheet multipurpose tray. The exact operating manual uses different names: Multi-purpose Tray for the main stack and Manual Feed Tray for the single sheet. Follow the illustrated physical source rather than assuming a familiar label refers to the same opening.

The single-sheet source takes priority when both contain paper. Remove its sheet before expecting a job to use the main stack. The declared ordinary main quantity is 250 sheets at 75 gsm; heavier examples fall to 170 sheets at 91 gsm or one hundred at 128 gsm. Those generic quantities do not verify a stack amount for every exact paper size.

Pull out the auxiliary output tray and extension before printing. The exact guide limits Legal output to one sheet and instructs removing each as it appears. That attended output requirement is important even when the printer can draw from a stack.

Automatic duplex stops at the exact stock limit

The actual U.S. duplex chapter confirms Letter, Legal and A4 with plain paper at 60–90 gsm or heavy paper at 91–105 gsm. Its broader usable-paper range through 163 gsm is not an automatic-duplex approval for all those weights. Labels and envelopes use their own output routine.

In the application select this printer and open Properties. Choose the document’s Page Size and intended Output Size, select one-sided or two-sided Print Style on the Finishing sheet, and set the actual media type on Paper Source. Different document and output sizes cause automatic scaling.

Do not pull a partly emerged sheet during automatic duplex: it is drawn back to print the other face. Preprinted or punched stock also needs the correct orientation. The special last-page setting can change which face is used, so the guide advises disabling it where that would upset a consistent orientation.

Replacement toner has a Letter-based declaration

The exact U.S. consumables chapter rates replacement Cartridge 126 for 2,100 pages under ISO/IEC 19752 when printing Letter at default density. That Letter basis is retained rather than substituting the A4 condition of another Canon manual. A separate supplied-cartridge yield remains unestablished here.

The guide says a computer warning does not appear simply because toner is nearing the end. Faded output, white streaks or unevenness lead to its inspection and replacement procedure. This is an operating limitation, not a claim that every cartridge will reach the declared yield.

Allow working room around the compact body

Canon declares up to 26 one-sided continuous plain Letter ppm and a separate sixteen-page duplex rate. Sixteen duplex pages are not sixteen two-sided sheets. The eight-thousand-page maximum monthly duty is not a recommended workload range.

The support table gives a closed body of 14.9 by 11.5 by 9.6 inches and 16.8 lb with cartridge. The actual manual confirms U.S. power and requires more than 3.94 inches on the right, with further space for paper access. A buyer needing direct network sharing or regular paper capture should choose a model whose exact hardware supplies those functions.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Up to 26 one-sided continuous plain Letter pages per minute; duplex Letter output is separately rated at 16 pages per minute. Duplex pages are not physical two-sided sheets. Media, orientation and job settings can reduce speed.

Paper handling

Main source: 250 sheets at 75 gsm, plus a separate single-sheet priority feed. Heavy examples reduce the main quantity to 170 at 91 gsm or 100 at 128 gsm. Letter/Legal/A4 duplex accepts eligible plain 60–90 gsm or heavy 91–105 gsm stock. Legal output capacity is one sheet.

Computer and mobile connections

Native computer interface is USB and language is CAPT. The exact manual requires bidirectional communication and does not guarantee unidirectional servers/hubs/switches. No scanner, network radio or mobile protocol is inferred from generic site app text.

Supplies and declared yields

Replacement Cartridge 126: approximately 2,100 pages under ISO/IEC 19752 using Letter and default density. Supplied yield is not separately established. The actual guide says the computer gives no near-empty toner warning; fading or streaking prompts inspection.

Software and support

Print-only model with two LED indicators and one operation key. Native Finishing selects automatic duplex. No native PIN feature is inferred. Maximum monthly duty is 8,000 pages; recommended volume is unknown.

Electrical edition and setup

Body: 14.9 × 11.5 × 9.6 inches; 16.8 lb with cartridge, versus 15.4 lb without. U.S. power: 120–127 V, 60 Hz. Allow more than 3.94 inches on the right plus opening and service access. USB cable is not included.
