Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can MF4350d print monochrome duplex pages and scan a Legal stack in color over USB?
Yes, in the documented native USB arrangement with paper size left flexible for automatic printing duplex. Install ScanGear MF and MF Toolbox. Legal originals use the simplex feeder, with a ten-sheet operating limit; they do not fit the glass.
Explore this need in the finder →Can its feeder scan both sides of an original automatically?
No. The original model matrix explicitly gives MF4350d a simplex feeder. The duplex feeder in the shared guide belongs to MF4380dn.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I use the shared manual network-scanning instructions on Ethernet with this exact model?
No. The original model matrix excludes a network board, and those instructions are restricted to MF4380dn and MF4370dn. The documented MF4350d computer route is USB.
Explore this need in the finder →A USB multifunction model with a one-sided feeder
The Canon imageCLASS MF4350d is an earlier U.S. monochrome multifunction reference for a computer connected directly by USB. It prints, copies, captures color documents and handles telephone fax. Its practical appeal is automatic two-sided output alongside a straightforward local computer arrangement. The important limitation is the feeder: it reads one side of an original at a time.
That distinction needs the exact model table. Canon's original Basic Operation Guide covers MF4380dn, MF4370dn and MF4350d, with illustrations generally based on MF4370dn. The matrix explicitly separates the network board and duplex feeder. MF4350d does not inherit either feature simply because a shared chapter explains it.
Originals and output have different duplex capabilities
The feeder takes up to 35 ordinary originals at the specified 80 gsm basis, with a separate ten-sheet maximum for Legal documents. Its maximum document size is 8.5 by 14 inches. Use that route for suitable full Legal pages, while keeping mixed, damaged, coated or otherwise unsuitable originals out of the feeder.
The glass is shorter than Legal and is the appropriate route for books, photographs and fragile material that fits. The operating table supplies a 216 by 297 mm maximum alongside a differently rounded inch declaration; those conditions should not be mistaken for a Legal glass. Color capture is documented even though the printer and copier produce monochrome output.
Automatic two-sided printing is a separate function. The native driver exposes its two-sided choice through Finishing and Print Style, followed by a binding-edge setting. The read print chapter does not establish the exact duplex size subset, so a general Letter, Legal and A4 paper-acceptance list is not used to promise all three in automatic duplex.
Copying has its own explicit restriction: the original guide limits two-sided copy output to Letter or A4 at 64–80 gsm. It can create that output from one-sided originals. The neighboring MF4380dn's automatic two-sided original routines are specifically labeled for that model and do not change MF4350d's simplex feeder.
Install the actual USB capture tools
For computer scanning, load the exact USB scanner driver and use MF Toolbox 4.9 in the documented Windows arrangement. On MF4350d, pressing Scan brings up Scanning Mode; Start launches the configured process, with the utility selected when requested. The original file-saving routine creates a dated folder in the applicable pictures directory.
The guide's scanner specification names TWAIN and WIA 1.0 support under its stated operating-system conditions, while excluding WIA 2.0. Those details matter for an older machine being moved to another computer. A generic compatibility list or a functioning print driver does not establish that the separate capture component works on the intended system.
Network printing and Color Network ScanGear instructions in the same guide are explicitly restricted to MF4380dn and MF4370dn. They are not setup alternatives for this USB model. No wireless radio, AirPrint or Mopria workflow is established by those chapters.
Paper loading, fax and the working footprint
The normal cassette holds up to 250 sheets within its stated stack-height limit, and the multipurpose feed takes one sheet. That separate manual feed helps with an occasional different medium; it is not another paper cassette. The operating paper table accepts Letter, Legal and A4 along with listed envelopes, but special media still need the appropriate source, settings and loading routine.
Telephone fax requires its own connected line and receive-mode configuration. Printing received faxes on two sides is output handling; it does not prove two-sided document capture. Keep that distinction in mind when evaluating a listing that abbreviates all of these different operations as duplex.
The actual MF4350d specification column gives a working unit with its document-feeder tray attached: 15.375 inches wide, 17.75 deep and 18 high, weighing approximately 29.5 lb including toner. Those measurements differ from the surviving web row. Leave additional loading and maintenance room instead of treating the body numbers as a complete shelf-clearance plan.
Use the U.S. supply and speed references
The actual U.S. guide rates supplied Cartridge 104 Starter at 1,000 pages and replacement Cartridge 104 at 2,000 using ISO/IEC 19752 on A4 at default density. Canon's regional Hong Kong page names a different supply and a 22 ppm speed; those regional details are not substituted for this U.S. edition's 23 one-sided Letter ppm reference.
The U.S. maximum monthly duty is 7,500 pages, with no recommended recurring range established here. Choose MF4350d when its documented USB workflow and simplex capture meet the task. For shared networking or automatic two-sided original capture, compare an exact model that positively includes that hardware and supports the intended computer software.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Up to 23 one-sided Letter ppm in the actual U.S. reference. The Hong Kong 22 ppm declaration is regional and is not substituted. The 7,500-page maximum is not a recommended monthly volume.
Paper handling
Actual U.S. Basic Guide gives a 250-sheet normal cassette plus a one-sheet multipurpose feed, accepting Letter, Legal and A4. Computer automatic duplex is positive with exact supported sizes unassigned; copy duplex is specifically Letter/A4 at 64–80 gsm.
Scanning arrangement
MF4350d has a 35-sheet simplex feeder, limited to ten Legal originals at the stated 80 gsm basis. Its glass covers Letter/A4 using the operating metric area but cannot fit Legal. Automatic two-sided output does not imply automatic two-sided scanning.
Computer and mobile connections
Native USB print and computer capture. The exact model matrix has no network board, and native network chapters expressly exclude MF4350d. No Wi-Fi or mobile protocol route is established.
Supplies and declared yields
Actual U.S. operating guide lists supplied Cartridge 104 Starter at 1,000 pages and replacement 104 at 2,000, using ISO/IEC 19752 on A4 at default density. The web table uses a separate 5% coverage description. Hong Kong FX-9 consumables are not substituted.
Software and support
Original computer scanning uses ScanGear MF and MF Toolbox 4.9. Exact Basic specifications name compatible TWAIN/WIA 1.0 support and exclude WIA 2.0. Match the intended operating system to its actual supported driver rather than relying on a generic compatibility row.
Electrical edition and setup
Actual MF4350d operating column: 120–127 V, 60 Hz; 15.375 inches wide, 17.75 deep and 18 high with the document-feeder tray attached; approximately 29.5 lb including toner. The web lists different body dimensions and unloaded weight, so the actual operating configuration is the stated fit basis.
