Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can MF6595cx capture a Legal original in color through both its glass and automatic duplex feeder while using native USB print, copy and fax routines?
Yes. The exact glass/feeder dimensions and ScanGear Advanced Mode support that USB arrangement. Select the correct original size and binding; the feeder mechanism is not represented as single-pass.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the same computer-scanning workflow run through Ethernet?
No. The original operating and scanner instructions explicitly restrict computer capture to USB, even though network printing and management are supported.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the included configuration hold at least 1,101 input sheets?
No. CX includes 1,100 sheets on its stated normal-paper basis. The output tray is not another input source.
Explore this need in the finder →The cx suffix changes the included paper configuration
The Canon imageCLASS MF6595cx is an earlier monochrome laser multifunction machine for an established office that needs substantial included paper input, Legal original handling and analog fax. Its suffix has a concrete meaning: the second 500-sheet cassette is standard on cx.
That produces an included 500 plus 500 plus 100-sheet configuration on the stated normal-paper basis. The deciding connection limit is just as important: desktop original capture is USB-only. Wired-network printing and management do not provide a network scanner.
Prepare USB capture with the actual scanner software
Install the exact supported USB scanner driver and printer package. Place an original on the glass or suitable loose pages face up in the feeder, then select Scan at the panel. MF Toolbox 4.9 supplies the basic file-format and destination workflow.
The original scanner guide makes a more specific distinction for two-sided originals. Open ScanGear MF through the scanner-driver display option or a supported application, switch to Advanced Mode and select ADF(2-sided). Simple Mode does not offer two-sided input.
Set the actual original size, orientation and binding location. The guide explicitly offers Letter, Legal and A4 for feeder input. It also warns that a size mismatch can produce different results on the two faces, which makes checking that setting more useful than simply choosing the highest resolution.
Legal glass and Legal feeder serve different documents
The actual document table permits Legal-size originals on the glass as well as in the feeder. A bound or delicate original belongs on the glass; a suitable uniform stack can use the feeder. Neither route makes a bound original suitable for automatic feeding.
The nominal feeder quantity is fifty ordinary sheets at its stated weight basis, falling to twenty-five for Legal originals. Two-sided originals have their own weight limit. Fan and align the stack, adjust the guides and avoid adding or removing pages while capture runs.
Color modes are documented in ScanGear even though the printer produces monochrome output. Feeder preview is unavailable, and cropping is disabled for ADF(2-sided). Automatic duplex capture is established, but the physical method remains unestablished, so it is not described as single-pass.
Native duplex printing has separate evidence
For computer output, select the exact MF6500 native queue, open Preferences or Properties and use Finishing. Print Style provides the two-sided setting. UFR II LT and the model-supported PCL alternatives are printer-language choices, not extra scanners or wireless hardware.
The original desktop printing chapter confirms automatic duplex but does not establish its exact paper-size subset. The separate copying chapter has its own duplex sizes; those are not transferred into computer output. An exact-size duplex requirement therefore remains unsupported here until the applicable print restrictions are established.
Wired printing needs an address and matching port
For Ethernet output, connect the network cable and configure the machine address before the computer destination. The reference guide describes LPD and RAW arrangements and a matching standard TCP/IP printer port. Changed network settings require the documented restart.
The machine can also expose status and management through Remote UI. Those capabilities do not change the explicit USB-only capture boundary. Analog fax still needs its separate suitable telephone-line arrangement; it is not a fax service created by the Ethernet cable.
Paper registration and installation remain physical tasks
Register the size and type separately for each cassette and the multipurpose source. The default Letter setting does not automatically describe a replacement Legal stack. Envelopes and other special media use the multipurpose tray with their own orientation and driver settings.
The generic 1,100-sheet quantity is not assigned as a separately verified capacity for every exact size. Standard cx hardware also increases the body height to 22⅞ inches, compared with the shorter ordinary MF6595. Width and depth are 20½ by 18 inches, and the declared weight is 66.1 pounds including toner.
The supplied 106 starter and replacement 106 are declared at approximately 2,500 and 5,000 pages under ISO/IEC 19752 with A4 and default density. These declarations do not establish current running costs or a recommended monthly workload. Confirm exact software and service requirements before relying on this historical arrangement; an office needing shared network capture needs a different positively documented route.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The printer specification refers to the 24-cpm direct Letter copy figure. It is not reclassified as a separately verified one-sided Letter printer benchmark. Recommended volume and maximum duty are unknown.
Paper handling
CX standard input is 500 + 500 + 100 sheets at 80 gsm. Cassette 2 is standard here and optional on plain MF6595. Envelopes use multipurpose feed. Computer-duplex sizes remain unknown; copy restrictions are not transferred.
Scanning arrangement
USB-only computer capture. Legal glass and feeder, with 50 ordinary or 25 Legal originals at 80 gsm. ScanGear Advanced Mode supports two-sided feeder input, Letter/Legal/A4, color and binding. Mechanism is unknown.
Computer and mobile connections
USB supports desktop print and capture; Ethernet supports documented print/management and PC-fax setup, with no network scanning. No wireless or mobile protocol is inferred.
Supplies and declared yields
Cartridge 106 starter: approximately 2,500 pages; replacement 106: 5,000 under ISO/IEC 19752 using A4 and default density. No current running cost is calculated.
Software and support
Two-sided computer capture requires ScanGear MF Advanced Mode; Simple Mode does not provide it. Feeder preview is unavailable, and crop is disabled for ADF (2-sided). Historical Windows examples require exact present software verification.
Electrical edition and setup
CX body: 20½ × 18 × 22⅞ inches; 66.1 lb including toner. U.S. power: 120–127 V, 60 Hz. Legal-paper access enlarges the operating footprint. Plain MF6595’s shorter body is separate.
