A USB monochrome printer with included automatic duplex

The Dell 2350d is an earlier print-only monochrome laser printer for a compatible local computer setup. Automatic duplex is included, together with a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet multipurpose feeder. That gives it a useful base paper arrangement for ordinary office documents without adding another drawer.

The final letter in the model name matters. Standard Ethernet belongs to the 2350dn, while the 2350d's documented standard connections are USB and parallel. Do not select a basic 2350d for a wired network location solely because both models share a brochure.

Choose around the recommended monthly workload

The original US specification recommends 400–1500 pages per month. Its much larger 60,000-page maximum duty figure is a different measure and should not replace that recommended range when choosing a regular workload.

The declared one-sided Letter rate is up to 40ppm. Actual output varies with the job, and first-page timings use separate ready and power-save conditions. A continuous engine rate is not the completion time of opening a file, waking the printer and producing every kind of document.

Automatic duplex supports ordinary Legal documents

Letter, Legal and A4 are listed for the standard paper sources and automatic duplex. The duplexer has its own ordinary-paper weight limits. An accepted media size does not mean every thickness or material can use the two-sided path.

The original table excludes rough paper and greeting-card stock from duplex. Envelopes use the multipurpose feeder and are also excluded from duplex. Those restrictions are more useful to a buyer than treating every media name in the brochure as an unrestricted automatic workflow.

Standard capacity and an optional drawer serve different routines

The included ordinary supply totals 300 sheets across the cassette and multipurpose feeder. Adding the optional 550-sheet drawer raises the expanded figure to 850. That larger total belongs to an upgraded configuration rather than the basic machine.

A separate drawer can be helpful when keeping two stocks loaded or reducing refills. For occasional envelopes and other special jobs, the multipurpose arrangement still needs to be used correctly. Check which paper source will perform each task instead of comparing maximum capacities without the required accessories.

Confirm the exact computer and driver

USB printing is the straightforward documented arrangement for the base 2350d. Check the actual operating system, a working compatible driver and a suitable cable before purchase. The original sheet notes that connection cables are not included.

The controller starts with 32MB and has its own 160MB maximum after adding the stated memory option. The nearby 2350dn has a different maximum, so that larger figure should not be assigned to this model. PCL and PostScript emulation are also different from an independently confirmed genuine Adobe interpreter.

Native mobile printing and a private PIN-release routine are not established here. A wireless option or printer-management utility does not, by itself, prove that the supplied machine meets those requirements. It is also a printer rather than a scanner or standalone copier.

Check the offered unit and its working space

The original supplied toner is declared at 2000 pages, with a separate higher-yield replacement option. Those reference conditions do not reveal how much toner remains in a particular older machine. Verify suitable supplies and request output representative of the documents actually needed.

The brochure lists 31.2 pounds with the standard cartridge, but its dimension-axis ordering is ambiguous. Measure the actual installation rather than relying on a silently reordered figure. Allow room for paper handling, cables and service covers. Choose the 2350d for a confirmed local monochrome routine that needs included duplex and fits the recommended workload.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The US declaration is 40 ppm Letter monochrome, with actual speed dependent on use. Recommended volume is 400–1500 monthly pages, separate from maximum duty.

Paper handling

Included input is 250 cassette plus 50 multipurpose sheets. Letter/Legal/A4/Folio duplex uses eligible 16–24 lb paper. Envelopes and other special stock have separate path restrictions.

Scanning arrangement

This is a dedicated printer. It has no document scanner, automatic document feeder, copying or fax function.

Computer and mobile connections

The 2350d has computer USB and parallel; standard Ethernet belongs to 2350dn. Wireless needs an optional adapter. A network utility does not establish an included socket or native mobile protocol.

Supplies and declared yields

The original separates supplied/standard and high-capacity toner under ISO/IEC 19752. Verify exact cartridges and maintenance parts; historical warranty/service offers are not current entitlements.

Software and support

Exact 2350d memory differs from 2350dn. PCL/PostScript emulation is not a genuine Adobe claim. Verify current drivers; the two-line text panel is not a color touchscreen.

Electrical edition and setup

The documented US edition accepts 110–127 V, 47–63 Hz. Loaded mass is separate from shipping mass. Ambiguous brochure axis order leaves body limits unassigned; allow paper, cable and service access.
