B2360dn (documented US-reference model; verify unit voltage)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A wired office needing ordinary documents or shared-network AirPrint without scanning.

The main tradeoff

Wireless is optional, confidential PIN release is unconfirmed, and the exact voltage label needs checking.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can an Ethernet AirPrint job use Legal automatic duplex and 300 standard input sheets?

Yes. The original network instructions and actual paper table support the combination; check the unit voltage label.

Does Panel PIN prove confidential PIN-release printing?

No. The cited PIN restricts menus; held-job collection is unconfirmed.

A networked monochrome printer with the important suffix

The Dell B2360dn is an earlier monochrome laser printer with included Ethernet and automatic two-sided printing. The final letters matter: the closely related B2360d shares a family guide, but the original comparison specifically reserves the network interface for the dn model.

For a small wired office, that distinction affects whether the printer can be shared directly through the network. Check the label and actual rear connections when considering a listing, especially when photographs or descriptions refer to the family more generally. This is a printing-only machine, with scanning, copying and faxing left to other equipment.

Useful everyday paper handling without buying every option

The base input arrangement consists of a 250-sheet tray and a 50-sheet multipurpose feeder. The original manual confirms Letter, Legal and A4 in both paths, and explicitly marks those sizes for automatic duplex. That is more useful than relying on the presence of a duplexer without checking its supported paper sizes.

One optional 550-sheet tray increases the total input supply from 300 to 850 sheets. Confirm that it is actually supplied and recognized in the driver before valuing a particular configuration. The larger setup also needs more installation space than the base printer shown in a compact desk arrangement.

Use the duplex path for the paper it supports

Plain office paper is the straightforward two-sided routine. The guide places separate restrictions on heavier stocks and special materials. Envelopes belong in the instructed multipurpose path and are not approved for automatic duplex simply because they can be printed on one side.

Set paper size and type to match what is loaded. If the work involves labels, the manual limits these to suitable one-sided laser labels for occasional use. A paper-handling feature should be chosen around the actual recurring document, rather than assuming that every material accepted by the front feeder uses every other printer function.

AirPrint uses the ordinary network arrangement

The manual documents AirPrint and requires the printer and mobile device to share a network. The dn model can participate through its included Ethernet connection while a phone connects through the same router's wireless network. That does not mean the printer itself includes a wireless radio.

Joining the printer wirelessly requires the optional network adapter and its own setup. Historical application references should also be checked against the current phone and software environment. Native AirPrint, a manufacturer's Android application and a computer driver are different printing routes, even when they reach the same output tray.

Do not confuse setup security with held print jobs

The guide describes a panel PIN that restricts access to printer menus. It also describes a WPS PIN used when establishing a wireless connection. Neither description independently establishes a confidential print job held until its owner enters a release code.

If private collection is essential, confirm that exact driver and printer feature separately before buying. For ordinary jobs, check a working compatible driver on the intended computer, confirm the available paper options and send representative documents through the chosen connection.

Check workload, supplies and the installation

Dell's Letter-oriented family table declares up to 40ppm for one-sided Letter printing. The maximum monthly duty figure is a separate 80,000 pages; it should not become the normal monthly target. Actual speed and suitability depend on document complexity, job pattern and the condition of this older machine.

The original starter and replacement cartridge declarations are useful identifiers, but estimated remaining pages depend on printing history and content. Check the actual unit's supplies, maintenance history and voltage label. Allow opening and ventilation clearance around the roughly 15.7 × 15.0 × 10.3-inch body, rather than treating its closed dimensions as the complete working space.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Original family table declares up to 40 ppm Letter / 38 ppm A4 and maximum duty 80000. Its 750–2500 range is labelled Typical Monthly Print Volume, not explicitly recommended, so recommended-volume fields remain unknown rather than relabelled.

Paper handling

Standard 250-sheet tray plus 50-sheet multipurpose feeder, 300 total. Actual original manual43 checkmarks confirm Letter, Legal and A4 in both base paths and duplex. Manual44/45 restrict duplex stock and exclude envelopes; one optional 550 tray expands total to 850. Family photo shared d/dn does not change exact dn connectivity.

Scanning arrangement

B2360dn is a dedicated monochrome laser printer, with no document scanner, copying, ADF or fax.

Computer and mobile connections

Included USB computer connection and dn-specific Ethernet. Wireless uses an optional adapter; the d model does not inherit dn network ports. Manual47 AirPrint requires a shared ordinary network, achievable with wired printer and phone on the same router network. Native Mopria and native PIN are unconfirmed.

Supplies and declared yields

Original family table lists 2500-page starter/standard and 8500 high-capacity replacement under ISO/IEC 19752. Original manual87 explains that remaining-page estimates depend on recent printing history and document content; estimates are not a guaranteed physical toner measurement.

Software and support

Original256 MB fixed RAM and two-line LCD. Original Windows/Mac driver instructions are conditional on actual supported software. Manual96 Panel PIN protects menus and does not establish confidential held-job release. Eight-digit WPS PIN is a wireless setup method, not a print-release feature.

Electrical edition and setup

US support identity is established, but the reviewed exact source does not establish this unit voltage; check the rating label. Closed body 15.7 × 15.0 × 10.3 inches and 31.1 lb with toner in the Letter-oriented table. Manual9 specifies substantial front, side, rear and upper ventilation/operating clearance; optional tray needs extra space.
