B3465dnfIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible wired office needing printing, scanning, copying, fax and PIN release within the recommended 2500–15000 monthly pages.

The main tradeoff

Wireless and extra trays are optional. Automatic feeder duplex is confirmed, but single-pass mechanics and exact-size print-duplex permissions remain unestablished.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can USB combine computer scanning, Legal duplex-feeder originals and fax at 10000 monthly pages?

Yes. The source separately confirms these jobs and a recommended monthly maximum of 15000 pages. The exact single-pass mechanism remains unestablished.

Does the included automatic-duplex function qualify when no specific paper size is required?

Yes. Automatic print duplex is confirmed when paper size is flexible. A specific-size requirement still needs its own documented permission.

Does the duplex ADF designation establish single-pass scanning?

No. Duplex is documented, but the precise single-pass mechanism is not established by this specification.

A monochrome workgroup MFP with color scanning

The Dell B3465dnf combines black-and-white laser printing with scanning, copying and fax. Its 7-inch color touchscreen should not be mistaken for a color print engine. Color scanning is separately documented and can be useful when the printed office documents are mostly monochrome.

This earlier model has standard USB and Gigabit Ethernet, a 50-sheet duplex document feeder and a flatbed. It is a stronger document-workflow choice than a print-only device when incoming originals, shared folders and fax form part of the same routine.

650 sheets are included; expansion requires actual options

The standard input arrangement is a 550-sheet cassette plus a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder, giving 650 ordinary sheets. The manufacturer's 2,300-sheet maximum requires three additional 550-sheet drawers. A lockable drawer, stapler and wireless print server are also separately sold options.

Letter, Legal and A4 are named for the ordinary paper paths. Envelopes use the multipurpose feeder under their own media settings. Automatic two-sided printing is explicitly included, but this specification does not supply its per-size permission table. We therefore confirm automatic duplex when paper size is flexible without promising that every supported one-sided format also supports that automatic routine.

Duplex scanning is confirmed without claiming single-pass operation

The 50-sheet DADF supports scanning both sides. The specification gives different simplex and duplex scanning rates, but a rate difference alone does not prove a particular reversing or single-pass mechanism. A requirement for duplex ADF scanning can be met; a requirement specifically for single-pass scanning remains unconfirmed.

The original inch-based maximum is 8.5×14 inches for both the feeder and flatbed, making the glass route relevant to Legal originals as well as ordinary Letter documents. The paired metric width is inconsistent in the sheet, so check unusual edge-critical originals against the actual operating instructions. Do not confuse the paper cassette with an original feeder.

USB and Ethernet have documented scanning routes

The sheet expressly names scanning to a USB-connected computer and separately describes shared network-folder and FTP destinations. Those are useful differences from printers that merely have a front USB socket for a flash drive. Current compatible software, permissions and destination settings still need to be configured.

Wi-Fi requires an optional print server. The Dell Mobile Print Android app claim includes same-network conditions and does not establish native AirPrint or Mopria. We keep the standard USB and Ethernet arrangements separate rather than adding optional wireless functions to every recommendation.

PIN release and storage-dependent options are distinct

Dell describes a specific private-print routine: the user sets a PIN and enters it at the printer to retrieve the job. An administrator can limit invalid attempts, after which related held jobs are deleted. That is more meaningful than treating an unspecified security label as proof of job release.

Other functions have different requirements. The Multi Send feature identifies an optional hard disk, for example, and the brochure separately lists encryption and specialized data cards. The presence of a PIN feature should not be used to claim that every optional storage or security function is included.

Use the recommended volume and actual installation size

The declared one-sided rate is 50ppm Letter or 47ppm A4. The recommended monthly print range is 2,500–15,000 pages, distinct from the 150,000-page maximum duty cycle. Neither speed is our timed result, and the maximum duty should not replace the recommendation when sizing a sustained workload.

The 120V edition accepts 100–127V. Its body measures 19.3×18.9×22.1 inches and weighs 52lb with consumables, before optional drawers. Allow access for the feeder, paper paths and service. Historical toner yields and the brochure's old cost-per-page calculation do not establish current running costs; compare actual compatible supplies and the condition of the offered machine.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared one-sided output is 50 ppm Letter and 47 ppm A4. Scanner side rates are separate; duplex ADF support does not establish a single-pass mechanism.

Paper handling

Included input is 550 cassette plus 100 multipurpose sheets, totaling 650. Optional drawers raise the maximum to 2300. Automatic print duplex is confirmed, but exact-size permissions remain unassigned.

Scanning arrangement

Both the 50-sheet DADF and flatbed expressly reach 8.5 × 14 inches. The paired 203.2 mm width conflicts with that inch value. Color USB computer scanning and network-folder/FTP delivery are documented separately.

Computer and mobile connections

Computer USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet are standard. The wireless print server is optional. A named Android app does not independently establish AirPrint or Mopria.

Supplies and declared yields

The original separates 7500-page starter toner, replacement toner and the 60000-page imaging drum. Historical price-based running costs are not current costs or remaining-life evidence.

Software and support

Use compatible LocalScan/NetworkScan software or a configured shared-folder/FTP destination. PIN-held jobs require the documented panel code; an invalid-attempt limit can delete retained jobs.

Electrical edition and setup

The reviewed 120 V AC edition accepts 100–127 V at 50–60 Hz. Body: 19.3 × 18.9 × 22.1 inches, 52 lb with consumables. Wireless, disk, extra drawers and stapler are optional.
