Color LaserJet CM3530 MFP CC519AIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible wired office that needs color output and shared-folder document capture, including Legal originals on the glass.

The main tradeoff

The supplied main cassette is shorter than Legal, fax is optional and exact single-pass scanning is not established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it capture two-sided Legal originals and use Legal-size glass over the configured wired folder route for 4,000 monthly printed pages?

Yes, with administrator-enabled supported folder delivery. The physical duplex-feeder mechanism remains unspecified.

Legal-size glass is a meaningful office difference

The HP Color LaserJet CM3530 MFP offers a combination that many smaller multifunction printers lack: a Legal-size flatbed alongside automatic two-sided document capture. It prints in color, copies and sends files through configured network destinations. That makes the scanner’s size and the office’s network setup central to the choice.

This assessment covers base CC519A. The related fs adds analog fax and a convenience stapler, while those functions are not supplied in the base package. An earlier offer should be checked against its exact configuration rather than the broad CM3530 family name.

Match incoming originals to the capture route

The 50-sheet feeder supports automatic duplex scanning, and the glass accepts documents up to Legal size. Color capture is documented separately from the color print engine. The glass is useful when an original should not enter a feeder, while a suitable stack can use the automatic route.

The reviewed original sections confirm automatic two-sided capture but do not establish whether its physical mechanism is reversing or single-pass. A requirement specifically for single-pass scanning therefore needs stronger model evidence or another documented choice. Automatic duplex is a useful feature without expanding its meaning.

Network-file delivery requires an office setup

The original guide describes sending scans to a network folder after the administrator enables the feature and prepares the destination. Its setup process uses the printer’s management interface and a folder wizard. The share, permissions and supported destination environment need to be ready before staff rely on the workflow.

Email delivery is a separate configured route requiring an appropriate mail server and network access. Optional Digital Sending Software adds other workflow functions; it should not be confused with the embedded basic folder and email capabilities.

The machine also has a computer USB connection, but that does not establish USB scanner acquisition. Accessory host sockets serve another purpose again. For a buyer who needs files on a computer, the assessed route is the documented compatible network destination.

Legal scanning does not imply full Legal paper capacity

The supplied inputs total 350 ordinary sheets: 100 in the multipurpose tray and 250 in the main cassette. The main cassette is shorter than Legal, so the standard Legal paper capacity is 100. A separate 500-sheet feeder can expand Legal-capable input, but it is optional.

That distinction matters if the same office scans and prints many Legal documents. The scanner can accept the original without making the entire ordinary input package suitable for the printed size. Confirm the actual extra feeder if an offer claims the expanded arrangement.

The original US specification lists automatic duplex output for Letter and Legal. Envelopes use the multipurpose tray with their own size, loading and ten-envelope limit. Choose the correct media settings rather than treating every supported material like ordinary two-sided office paper.

Use the documented private-job controls deliberately

The operating guide shows Personal Job and Stored Job modes, including a four-digit PIN for private retrieval. This supports a specific held-print workflow through compatible driver controls, rather than relying on a general security heading or a network administrator password.

Check current software and network compatibility before choosing an earlier example. Historical operating-system lists describe the original environment, and the actual document route matters more than a broad assertion that the machine is network-ready.

Consider the complete earlier office installation

HP recommends 2,000–6,000 printed pages monthly, separately from maximum duty. The base machine is substantial, with a four-color supply system and toner collection unit. Allow access for the glass, cassettes, service doors and cables as well as room for the closed body.

Verify the actual electrical plate, supplies and service condition. Regional voltage alternatives are not a universal-input guarantee. The CM3530 fits compatible wired color work where Legal glass and automatic document capture matter, provided optional fax and added paper capacity are assessed as separate package requirements.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Up to 31 Letter / 30 A4 ppm in black or color. Recommended monthly printing is 2,000–6,000 pages; 75,000 is maximum duty. Scan and copy settings do not establish identical end-to-end rates.

Paper handling

Supplied ordinary input is 100-sheet multipurpose plus 250-sheet main tray, 350 total. The standard main tray cannot accept Legal; Legal supplied capacity is 100, with the 500-sheet Legal-capable third feeder optional. Original table supports Letter/Legal/A4 ordinary input as appropriate, while reviewed US duplex list explicitly names Letter/Legal. Envelopes use Tray 1 only, up to ten, with correct media settings.

Scanning arrangement

Color scanner has 50-sheet automatic duplex ADF and Legal-size glass. Letter/Legal/A4 originals are documented. Automatic two-sided capture is positively documented, but its physical reversing versus single-pass mechanism is not established in the reviewed sections. Supported file delivery is administrator-enabled network folder or configured email on LAN; direct USB pull scanning remains unestablished here.

Computer and mobile connections

Included computer USB and Ethernet. Original guide says 10/100 while US brochure says Gigabit; Ethernet is included but no speed upgrade is promised. Host USB sockets are for accessory/third-party roles and do not establish USB computer capture. Wireless is not included; AirPrint/Mopria are not established.

Supplies and declared yields

Original full-cartridge package has separate black and cyan/magenta/yellow supplies plus toner collection unit. Original declared cartridge yields are not remaining toner in an earlier offer. Base CC519A lacks included analog fax and stapler; those fs additions must not be borrowed.

Software and support

Network-folder capture needs a supported shared destination, administrator enablement, path/access configuration and setup wizard. Digital Sending Software adds optional workflows, separate from embedded basic folder/email. Exact operating guide documents Personal Job/Stored Job and four-digit PIN retrieval. Current OS and protocol compatibility need checking independently of old support lists.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier base CC519A North American Letter configuration. Original source lists separate regional power requirements; actual offered edition unresolved, so US mains unknown. Closed body 20.3 × 20.4 × 22.1 in and 105 lb with toner, distinct from wider/heavier fs. No current stock, exact base discontinuation or tested-condition claim.
