Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can it print Letter color documents over Ethernet with 350 sheets and private PIN retrieval for 3,000 monthly pages?
Yes, with compatible desktop software and Personal Job settings; this n package uses manual two-sided printing.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the n include automatic duplex printing?
No. Automatic duplex belongs to dn/x configurations.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the standard package hold 350 Legal sheets?
No. The standard main cassette is shorter than Legal; only 100 supplied sheets qualify.
Explore this need in the finder →The network model still uses manual duplex
The HP Color LaserJet CP3525n is an earlier color printer for a compatible computer or wired office network. The CC469A configuration includes Ethernet, computer USB and a 350-sheet ordinary paper package. It does not include the automatic duplexer found on dn and x.
That distinction is essential when comparing family listings. The n adds network capability without adding every feature shown in the shared brochure. It is also print-only equipment, with no scanner, copier or fax for incoming paper originals.
Match the paper size to the supplied tray
The ordinary input total combines 100 sheets in the multipurpose tray with 250 in the main cassette. The main cassette is shorter than Legal. Without the optional extra feeder, Legal paper therefore has a 100-sheet supplied capacity rather than the full 350-sheet figure.
This is relevant when an office’s largest regular document is Legal rather than Letter or A4. A generic paper-capacity headline can hide the need for more frequent loading. An extra 500-sheet feeder can change the arrangement, but should be counted only when present on the actual offer.
The operating guide directs envelopes, labels and postcards to the multipurpose tray. Select the matching size and type in the driver, observe the stack limit and follow the appropriate loading direction. Special materials should not inherit ordinary-paper capacity assumptions.
Two-sided documents require deliberate refeeding
The n’s two-sided routine is manual. The original Mac instructions describe printing the first side, moving the printed stack to Tray 1 and selecting the second-side process. Correct orientation and binding choices determine whether the finished document reads as intended.
A generic two-sided option in an application does not create an automatic duplexer. For frequent long reports or unattended two-sided work, compare an exact configuration with the required hardware. Occasional manual handling is a different routine from automatic duplex output.
Personal Job PIN release is documented separately
The original guide distinguishes several storage modes. A Personal Job can wait for PIN entry at the panel, while Quick Copy and permanent Stored Job functions depend on an optional hard disk. Those modes should not be collapsed into one all-or-nothing storage claim.
Use a compatible driver to choose the intended private-job mode and assign its PIN. Personal jobs are deleted when the printer is powered off, so they are not a permanent document archive. An administrator password is a separate control and does not replace selecting private-job settings.
This distinction lets the assessed n qualify for its documented private-release routine without pretending that the optional disk is supplied. If an offer claims other storage functions, verify the hardware and actual controls required for them.
Check the present computer and network arrangement
The printer has included USB and Ethernet print connections. The original sources differ over the Ethernet speed description, so this assessment relies on the documented wired connection without promising a particular upgrade. Wireless accessories remain optional.
Historical operating-system and protocol lists do not guarantee full compatibility with every present computer. Check the available driver, paper settings, private-job controls and manual duplex procedure that matter to your work. The existence of a host accessory socket does not establish scanning or modern mobile protocols.
Evaluate supplies and condition alongside specifications
HP recommends 1,500–5,000 printed pages monthly, separately from maximum duty. The original introductory toner package has a different declared yield from replacement cartridges; neither figure identifies toner remaining in a particular earlier machine. Four toner colors and the collection unit belong in the ownership assessment.
Allow room for paper loading, front access and cables. Verify the electrical plate rather than interpreting separate regional power specifications as universal voltage. The CP3525n suits compatible wired color work when manual duplex and the actual size-specific paper capacity fit the routine.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Original sources declare up to 30 Letter/A4 ppm black or color; recommended 1,500–5,000 monthly printed pages versus 75,000 maximum duty. No complete-job benchmark invented.
Paper handling
100-sheet multipurpose plus 250-sheet main input totals 350 ordinary sheets. Exact n has manual duplex only, unlike dn/x. Main input stops before Legal length, so standard Legal capacity is 100; extra 500 Legal-capable tray is optional. Letter/A4 ordinary inputs supported. Original operating guide directs envelopes/labels/postcards to Tray 1, with actual media size/type and orientation; do not invent ordinary duplex for special materials.
Scanning arrangement
Print-only configuration without scanner, copier, originals feeder or fax. Host accessory socket is not a capture route.
Computer and mobile connections
Included computer USB and Ethernet. Manual model comparison says 10/100 while original US brochure says Gigabit; Ethernet exists but speed conflict is retained. Wireless and storage accessories optional; AirPrint/Mopria/standard Wi-Fi Direct unestablished. No mobile or scanner function inferred from network server.
Supplies and declared yields
Original introductory cartridges about 3,000 pages black/composite color, separate from replacement CE250A black approximately 5,000, CE250X approximately 10,500 and color approximately 7,000 under stated conditions. No remaining toner, measured yield or current price claim. Four cartridges and toner collection unit are separate ownership items.
Software and support
Original 119–120 explicitly distinguishes Personal Job PIN retrieval from optional-disk Quick Copy/permanent Stored Job. Compatible driver can create private job and release at panel with PIN; Personal Job is deleted on power-off. Standard 256 MB package not made disk-only. Configure actual manual duplex, paper settings and supported driver; old OS lists need present compatibility checking.
Electrical edition and setup
Earlier base n CC469A North American Letter configuration, no adjacent dn #ABA or official-discontinued notice borrowed. Source provides separate regional power requirements, not exact offered edition, so US mains unknown. Original n/dn closed body 20.2 × 19.3 × 14.1 inches, 72.5 lb with toner, not taller/heavier x. Allow loading, service and cable access.
