Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can wired color A3 jobs use 350 ordinary input sheets and a 5,000-page recommended monthly requirement?
Qualifies with compatible desktop software. A3 is documented in both supplied inputs, and the recommended maximum is 5,000 monthly pages; the optional feeder is excluded.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the n automatically duplex Tabloid reports?
Fails. Exact n documentation specifies manual duplex. The automatic duplexer is included in dn, a different configuration.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the included package offer infrastructure Wi-Fi printing?
Fails. Its normal connections are USB and Ethernet; the wireless server is a separate optional purchase.

The HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225n offers a wired route to larger color documents, including A3 and Tabloid. Its exact US CE711A#BGJ configuration has USB, built-in Ethernet and two standard inputs holding 350 ordinary sheets. The n does not include the automatic duplexer of the dn. Someone must return the paper stack for two-sided work.
That makes it more suitable for predominantly one-sided office documents, larger layouts and occasional attended duplex jobs than for unattended two-sided report production. It is a print-only commercial-environment machine, with a substantial body and no scanner. The surviving product reference is not a claim about a current offer or stock.
Large paper uses the supplied trays
The multipurpose input holds up to 100 sheets and the cassette up to 250. Both support ordinary Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid. The original cassette capacity uses a 75 g/m² plain-paper basis, with actual capacity affected by thickness and conditions. The optional 500-sheet third feeder is separate and should not be counted as included hardware.
Choose the correct page size and media type in the driver as well as positioning the tray guides. Larger media and open feed supports require working room beyond the closed footprint. A printer accepting a large sheet also does not establish how quickly it prints that size or whether every heavy stock can use the same paper path.
For occasional envelopes, Tray 1 allows up to ten within its documented 90 g/m² limit, loaded face down with the stamp end toward the back. This is a separate stock-loading routine. The 250-sheet finished-paper bin is an output destination and cannot be added to the input total.
Two-sided printing needs attention at the printer
The original manual procedure uses the compatible driver's second-side setting and its on-screen instructions. After the first pass, remove blank paper from Tray 1 and return the printed stack face up with the bottom edge feeding first. The second side must use Tray 1; continue at the panel if prompted.
This works only when someone can attend the correct stack. On a shared office network, coordinate the job so another person does not disturb the waiting sheets. If automatic duplex is a requirement, choose the documented dn or another machine with that hardware rather than assuming the network suffix includes it.
Use a verified desktop connection
The included network port is 10/100 Ethernet. The original Windows instructions connect it to the network before starting the software installation and provide a Network Summary report under Reports to check the arrangement. Direct USB instead uses an A-to-B cable, connected when the installer requests it. Select an actually compatible driver for the current computer.
PCL and PostScript-emulation support are useful software details, but historical operating-system lists are not an unconditional present-day support promise. Wi-Fi requires an optional external print server and is excluded from the supplied setup. The exact technical specification also says mobile printing is unsupported, so AirPrint and Mopria are not supplied as matching routes.
Generic sales-page references to ePrint or a flash-drive port should not override the original parts list and exact technical rows. A USB computer connection is not automatically a walk-up host port. Likewise, an embedded-web-server password is not evidence of included job-PIN release, which remains unconfirmed here.
Workload, supplies and space
HP declares up to 20 black or color Letter pages per minute and separately identifies a 20-ppm A4 rate. No A3, Tabloid or hands-on speed is invented. The recommended monthly range is 1,500 to 5,000 pages, while 75,000 is a maximum duty figure. Use the recommendation for normal workload planning.
The exact US package lists preinstalled black toner at about 7,000 declared pages and colors at about 7,300 each. The CE74xA yield declaration uses ISO/IEC 19798 continuous printing; actual yield varies. The current n page also describes its HP-chip dynamic-security policy. Verify compatible supplies without treating declared yield as a current cost calculation.
The body is 21.5 by 23.6 by 13.3 inches and 90.2 pounds, with a much larger listed maximum arrangement. Provide a suitable support and loading/service clearance. The US electrical row specifies 115–127 VAC at 60 Hz, and HP identifies FCC Class A commercial use. Choose this n for wired large color output with manual handling; choose a documented multifunction, wireless or automatic-duplex alternative when those needs decide the purchase.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Exact n US page explicitly rates Letter black and color up to 20 ppm. Original guide separately says Letter/A4 20 ppm. No A3/Tabloid, duplex or measured speed inferred. Recommended monthly 1,500–5,000 differs from maximum duty 75,000.
Paper handling
Standard 100-sheet multipurpose Tray 1 plus 250-sheet Tray 2, with original cassette plain-paper basis 75 g/m². Exact per-tray lists and original dimensional ranges support Letter/Legal/A4/A3/Tabloid in both included inputs. Optional 500-sheet Tray 3 excluded. Up to ten envelopes at most 90 g/m² use Tray 1 face down/stamp end back. The n is manual duplex: return printed stack face up/bottom edge first through Tray 1 when the compatible driver prompts. Output 250 is separate.
Scanning arrangement
Exact print-only four-color laser and complete original parts/control panel have no physical scanner, original feeder, copy platen or fax. Single-pass color application in the print engine does not establish any scanning function.
Computer and mobile connections
Included USB 2.0 device and built-in 10/100 Ethernet. Wireless needs an optional external print server and is excluded from normal plans. Original USB install waits for the software cable prompt; Windows network install attaches Ethernet before starting software, then verifies the Network Summary report. USB is an A-to-B computer link, not a confirmed walk-up flash-drive host.
Supplies and declared yields
Exact US n box includes preinstalled black about 7,000 pages and colors about 7,300 each. Original CE740A black/CE741A cyan/CE742A yellow/CE743A magenta declaration uses ISO/IEC 19798 continuous-printing basis; composite CMY differs from individual sample results. Actual yield varies. Current exact n page states dynamic security requiring a new or reused HP chip and allowing reused/remanufactured/refilled cartridges with reused HP chips; firmware can block non-HP chips. No price or live stock claim.
Software and support
Compatible PCL 6/PCL 5/PostScript level 3 emulation desktop software is required. Historical OS lists do not promise current support. Exact technical specification says mobile printing unsupported, so no AirPrint/Mopria arrangement is included. The original manual duplex process requires attending and refeeding the job; generic job-storage text and EWS passwords do not establish an included job-PIN workflow.
Electrical edition and setup
Exact US CE711A#BGJ body is 21.5 × 23.6 × 13.3 inches, 90.2 lb; cartridge basis unspecified by exact row. Listed maximum arrangement 34 × 42 × 14.6 inches requires additional loading/service room. Exact US input 115–127 VAC at 60 Hz supports the low-voltage edition, not universal voltage. Maker identifies FCC Class A commercial rather than residential use. No explicit exact discontinuation observed, and no stock inferred.
