Compatible workgroup color reports within the recommended recurring workload.

The main tradeoff

Optional paper, storage and radio accessories must be checked on the actual offer; this is a substantial older cabinet.

A wired color printer with automatic two-sided output

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4025dn is an earlier print-only workgroup model. Its automatic duplex hardware is the useful difference from the CP4025n. Choose the exact configuration around the reports and ordinary paper the office repeatedly uses.

The cabinet is substantial, and the original stated weight excludes print cartridges. Plan a suitable location and handling arrangement rather than treating a closed measurement or bare-machine figure as the whole installation.

The supplied paper arrangement is 600 sheets

The standard sources combine a 500-sheet cassette and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray. An optional 500-sheet feeder and cabinet increases the total. Check whether that accessory is actually included and whether it feeds the intended stock correctly.

Keeping suitable different papers ready may be useful even when maximum capacity is not important. Decide which sizes and types deserve a source, then match guides and software settings. Repeatedly changing the main stock can be more disruptive than a modest difference in engine rate.

Ordinary Letter, Legal and A4 are documented. Envelopes and specialty materials require their own loading and media instructions. A broad size range does not establish that every coating, construction or heavy sheet is appropriate for every path.

Duplex conditions matter alongside the hardware

The original specifications document automatic two-sided printing for the ordinary sizes under their specified paper conditions. Set the intended binding and inspect a short complete report before a large batch. Covers and mixed orientations deserve attention. Include them in the trial so a correct first page does not hide a binding problem later in the report.

The multipurpose tray’s broader weight range should not be applied automatically to the internal duplex path. A material that can feed once is not necessarily suitable for an automatic return pass. Trial the actual stationery in a small quantity before planning repeated work.

USB and Ethernet define the ordinary setup

The supplied connections are computer USB and Gigabit Ethernet. Expansion slots can accept certain optional accessories, but a slot is not an included radio or parallel card. Verify the installed equipment if another connection is essential.

Check current compatible driver support on the actual computers. For a shared queue, agree the address and paper defaults, then send representative text, charts and multipage files. Include reconnection after a restart rather than relying only on the printer name appearing in discovery.

The CP4025dn does not scan, copy or fax originals. A network connection and a color display do not add capture hardware. Account for a separate scanner or compare a multifunction machine if incoming paperwork is part of the requirement.

Use the recurring workload recommendation

The original declared monochrome and color rate is up to 35 pages per minute on Letter and A4. It is a manufacturer engine figure rather than our measured completion time. Short separate jobs and complex pages can give a different practical result.

The recommended monthly range is more relevant for steady planning than the much larger duty ceiling. Count a normal month and peak batches, including refills and collecting output. Neither number predicts remaining life in an individual older unit.

Assess the complete color supply system

Black and each color have separate cartridge references and declared yields. The toner collection unit, fuser and transfer components are additional service checks. Match regional and electrical references rather than assuming all editions use the same parts.

Inspect representative color pages, feeding and duplex output, and confirm the exact model and rating plate. Declared full-cartridge yields cannot show remaining installed toner or current running cost. Leave room for trays, covers and cables, then choose the CP4025dn when its compatible wired report routine fits the office.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

HP declares 35 Letter/A4 pages per minute in monochrome and color. Recommended monthly output is 2,000–7,500 pages; maximum duty is 100,000 pages. These are manufacturer figures, not measured results.

Paper handling

Supplied input is 100 + 500 ordinary sheets; an optional 500-sheet feeder raises it to 1,100. Letter, Legal and A4 automatic duplex is documented for suitable media. The wider bypass media range does not apply to every paper path. Envelopes use their separate routine.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only equipment, without a scanner, copying glass, document feeder or fax.

Computer and mobile connections

Computer USB and Gigabit Ethernet are supplied. An EIO slot does not include a wireless or parallel card. Check compatible current drivers and the actual network configuration.

Supplies and declared yields

Original replacement declarations include CE260A black and CE261A/CE262A/CE263A colors. Toner collection, transfer and voltage-specific fuser parts are separate service items. Check the actual regional parts and remaining condition.

Software and support

Original standard memory is 512 MB, expandable to 1 GB. Optional hard-disk and security features do not establish a supplied PIN-release workflow. No scanning, copying or fax is included.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier CC490A configuration. Body: 21.3 × 20.6 × 16.5 inches. The stated 84.6 lb excludes print cartridges. Verify electrical rating and allow tray, cover and cable access.
