Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the n print ordinary color Legal documents over Ethernet with 600 input sheets?
Yes, with compatible software and the documented paper settings.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the exact n automatically turn paper for both sides?
No. Its documented two-sided route is manual.

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4525n is a wired color printer supplied with a 100-sheet multipurpose input and a 500-sheet cassette. It can be a relevant earlier model for an office already comfortable with a shared print queue and occasional manual paper handling.
The n suffix is important. This configuration does not include the automatic duplexer listed on the dn and xh. A family description showing two-sided output or a larger tower should not replace the exact equipment check.
Manual duplex changes the effort behind a report
Two-sided work requires printing one side and refeeding suitable paper for the other. That may be manageable for an occasional short report, but it adds attention and a risk of orientation mistakes when repeated through the day.
Try a complete document with the actual application and driver. Check page order, which edge is reinserted and how a mixed-orientation file behaves. For frequent unattended two-sided runs, compare an equipped configuration before concentrating on the headline print rate.
Start with six hundred supplied sheets
The ordinary-paper starting total is 600 sheets. Additional feeders can change the arrangement, but they are optional on this exact model. Inspect what is included when a seller uses a photograph of a taller family member.
The two inputs can serve different suitable stock. Agree the defaults for a shared queue so an unusual document does not consume the next person's paper. Longer forms and envelopes also deserve a loading check rather than being treated as interchangeable office sheets.
Envelopes follow the prescribed multipurpose route. The supported bypass range does not automatically apply to the main cassette or a two-sided refeeding routine. Match stock, size and settings before increasing a job's length.
Use the documented wired connections deliberately
USB and Gigabit Ethernet are supplied. Ethernet can serve a configured shared queue, while USB provides a direct desktop print path under compatible software. Neither description is a guarantee that an arbitrary current computer has the needed driver ready.
Test representative files on the actual system. Include fonts, color graphics, paper choices and reconnection after a restart. A printer appearing in a device list is only part of establishing a dependable office routine.
An expansion slot does not mean a wireless or parallel card is installed. Confirm any added hardware separately. If cable-free placement is essential, compare the complete supported accessory arrangement with an alternative that includes the required connection.
Print speed and recurring work answer different questions
HP's declared Letter rate is a manufacturer specification rather than our measured wait for a particular file. Waking, processing and the document's complexity can matter more than the continuous engine figure for short jobs.
The recommended monthly range helps describe recurring work. It is separate from maximum duty and does not predict the condition of an individual earlier machine. Include peak runs, paper changes and the effort of manual duplex in the workload comparison.
Inspect the exact older cabinet and supplies
This is print-only equipment. There is no scanner, copying glass, feeder or fax to support incoming-document capture. A color display and a network connection do not add those functions.
Check feeding, representative color output, installed memory, supplies and service parts. The original weight excludes print cartridges, so it should not be used as a ready-to-move weight without checking the actual unit. Confirm the electrical plate and leave room for trays, covers and cables.
Choose the CP4525n when its compatible wired color routine fits and manual refeeding is an acceptable part of the work. Prefer another arrangement when automatic duplex, capture or a smaller installation is central.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
HP declares 42 Letter pages per minute in monochrome and color. Recommended monthly output is 2,500–10,000 pages, distinct from 120,000 maximum Letter duty. No measured timing or separate duplex rate is claimed.
Paper handling
Supplied input is 100-sheet multipurpose plus 500-sheet cassette. Ordinary Letter/Legal/A4 are within documented supported dimensions. The exact n uses manual duplex. The 500-sheet or three-by 500-sheet expansion package is optional. Envelopes use the instructed multipurpose routine.
Scanning arrangement
Print-only equipment, without a scanner, copying glass, document feeder or fax.
Computer and mobile connections
Computer USB and Gigabit Ethernet are supplied. EIO expansion does not include a wireless or parallel card. Check current driver support and the actual configured network before relying on a shared queue.
Supplies and declared yields
Match regional CE260A/CE264X black and CE261A/CE262A/CE263A color supplies, plus waste, transfer and voltage-specific fuser parts. Declared full-cartridge yield is not remaining toner, price or running cost.
Software and support
The n has 512 MB standard memory, expandable to 1 GB in the original sheet. The xh hard disk is optional here. Listed storage/security features do not establish the precise base PIN-release routine. Print-only, without scanning, copying or fax.
Electrical edition and setup
Earlier US CC493A reference. Original body 21.3×20.6×16.5 inches;84.6 lb explicitly excludes print cartridges. Check actual regional electrical plate, installed accessories and operating clearance. Voltage editions are not dual voltage.
