CP5525dn (CE708A#BGJ)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible color reports and larger ordinary documents under the documented paper and duplex conditions.

The main tradeoff

Large format does not imply borderless or arbitrary heavy-stock duplex; the xh paper and storage package differs.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it automatically duplex ordinary A3 color documents through Ethernet with 850 sheets?

Larger ordinary documents are the useful distinction

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP5525dn is an earlier color printer that supports larger ordinary formats alongside everyday office paper. That can be useful when the same workgroup prints reports, larger layouts and internal presentation material without moving everything to another device.

Large-format support is not a promise of borderless output or permission to use arbitrary heavy stock. Start with the actual document size, printable area and material, then check the supported route and settings.

Three supplied sources total 850 ordinary sheets

The standard setup combines a 100-sheet multipurpose tray, a 250-sheet tray and a 500-sheet tray. The much larger xh package is a different configuration. Verify the sources actually included in an individual offer rather than relying on the tallest family image.

Different sources can keep suitable sizes ready and reduce repeated unloading. That may be particularly useful when ordinary reports and larger layouts alternate through the week. Agree the paper defaults so a shared queue does not pull the wrong stock for the next document.

Capacity also depends on the material. Envelopes, labels and heavier specialty stock have their own instructions and smaller limits. Trial the exact intended stationery before buying a large supply or committing a repeated batch.

Automatic duplex has a narrower material range

The dn configuration includes automatic two-sided printing for the documented ordinary size range. Letter, Legal, A4 and supported larger ordinary formats can use that route under the prescribed conditions. Check binding and page order with a short complete document.

The operating guide places a lower weight limit on automatic duplex than on some single-sided feed paths. A heavy sheet accepted once is not necessarily suitable for the return pass. Use the instructed routine for heavier material rather than inferring support from the printer’s overall size.

Also check the printable area before preparing a larger layout. Required margins and centered image limits can affect artwork near the edge. A paper physically fitting the tray does not mean the entire sheet can carry an image.

Wired desktop and network paths define the base setup

USB and Ethernet are supplied connections. An expansion slot or optional print-server arrangement is not an included wireless radio. Verify installed accessories and current compatible software when another path is essential.

The walk-up memory-device port is separate from computer USB and has its own file and administrator conditions. Test the actual route you intend to use with representative documents, including fonts, charts and larger page layouts.

This is a print-only model. The larger paper range does not add scanning, copying or faxing. Incoming large originals need a separate capture arrangement or a multifunction alternative with the appropriate scanner.

Use the relevant size when comparing declared speed

The original Letter and A4 declaration is up to 30 pages per minute for monochrome and color, while the larger A3 figure is different. These are manufacturer figures rather than our measured job times. File preparation, waking and separate short submissions affect practical completion.

The recommended monthly range is intended for recurring workload planning. The much larger duty ceiling is another limit, not a target for continuous everyday use or a remaining-life estimate. Include stock changes, refills and output collection in the routine.

Inspect the complete installation

Confirm the exact model and electrical plate, installed trays, representative color output and feeding. Check regional supply references and other service items; declared cartridge yields cannot reveal remaining toner or current running cost.

Leave practical space for large paper, trays, covers and cables. Choose the CP5525dn when compatible mixed-size ordinary color work benefits from its supplied sources and documented duplex routine; compare another configuration when included wireless, paper capture or a specialist media path is essential.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

HP declares 30 Letter/A4 pages per minute in monochrome and color; the 15-page A3 rate uses a different paper basis. Recommended monthly output is 2,500–10,000 pages, distinct from the 120,000-page duty ceiling.

Paper handling

Supplied input is 100 + 250 + 500 ordinary sheets. Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid are within the documented ranges. Automatic duplex has specific media limits, including a 120 g/m² maximum. Heavier bypass stock does not automatically qualify. The xh expanded package is different.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only equipment, without a scanner, copying glass, document feeder or fax.

Computer and mobile connections

USB and Gigabit Ethernet are supplied. Optional wireless and EIO equipment are additional hardware. Computer USB and a host socket serve different purposes.

Supplies and declared yields

The original guide identifies the 650A family: CE270A black, CE271A cyan, CE272A yellow and CE273A magenta. Check exact regional service and collection parts; no remaining-life or running-cost estimate is implied.

Software and support

Original standard memory is 1 GB. The xh encrypted disk is not included simply because this is a dn. Exact private-job conditions are unconfirmed here. No scanner, copying or fax is included.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier US CE708A reference, distinct from CP5225dn CE712A. Exact body measurements remain unassigned. Check electrical rating and allow large-paper, tray and cover access.
