Color LaserJet Enterprise 700 MFP M775z+ CF304AIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Wired workgroups needing large Letter/A4 supplies, occasional wide-format printing and configured color network-folder acquisition.

The main tradeoff

Legal/A3/Tabloid input is only 350 standard positions; the scanner reverses originals and cannot satisfy single-pass capture.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can an Ethernet desktop arrangement combine color Letter duplex, automatic two-sided Legal feeder files and PIN jobs with 3000 included Letter positions at 7000 monthly pages?

Yes. The configured network-folder route and reversing feeder handle Legal, supported desktop drivers provide Letter duplex and PIN personal jobs, and Letter capacity is 3850. Fax, if used, still needs its separate telephone setup.

Does the bulk-paper z+ configuration include 1000 Tabloid positions?

No. The 3500-sheet base accepts only Letter/A4. Tabloid uses the 100 + 250 standard sources for 350 positions.

Does its automatic two-sided feeder scan both faces in one pass?

No. HP specifically identifies a reversing ADF, so it does not meet a single-pass requirement.

Choose the z+ for bulk Letter work and office finishing

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise 700 MFP M775z+ combines color printing, copying, scanning and analog fax in a substantial floor configuration. Its distinguishing package is the high-capacity paper base and in-line stapler/stacker. It is most useful when an office wants large Letter or A4 supplies ready alongside occasional oversized jobs.

The deciding tradeoff is that its largest paper reservoir does not accept those oversized sheets. The exact CF304A configuration and original paper tables matter more than a family-wide capacity headline. This assessment treats the documented earlier generation as a reference, without claiming a current offer or hands-on performance testing.

3850 sheets is a size-dependent total

The actual z+ column includes a 100-sheet multipurpose tray, a 250-sheet Tray 2 and a 3500-sheet high-capacity input unit. At the stated 75 gsm ordinary-paper basis, that is 3850 included positions. The z model's three 500-sheet trays are a different configuration.

The bulk unit supports only Letter and A4. Legal, A3 and Tabloid use the two smaller standard sources, leaving 350 included positions for those sizes. Someone selecting 3000 sheets of Tabloid would therefore be poorly served despite the large total. The website's matching records that distinction explicitly.

The guide's actual size table confirms automatic print duplex for Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid. Media weight and type still matter. Envelopes follow their own one-sided Tray 1 routine, with a ten-envelope limit; the bulk base is not an envelope source.

The feeder reverses originals for their second sides

The included 100-sheet automatic document feeder supports color acquisition and automatic two-sided scanning. HP's exact U.S. specification identifies a reversing ADF. It feeds the second face through the scanning mechanism rather than acquiring both faces simultaneously in one pass.

The U.S. feeder maximum is explicitly 11 × 17 inches. That covers Letter, Legal and Tabloid originals in the documented acquisition route. This assessment keeps the feeder's size evidence separate from the glass. A confirmed flatbed exists, but the read sources do not establish its exact size range sufficiently to promise every large original on that route.

If rapid unattended capture of both faces is central to the office, compare an expressly documented single-pass feeder. Automatic duplex printing and automatic reversing scans remain useful features, but neither substitutes for that mechanism.

Configure the actual computer destination

The operating guide describes Save to Network Folder in detail: place the original on the glass or feeder, select a configured Quick Set or supply a folder path, provide required credentials and start the acquisition. The administrator can prepare destinations through the Embedded Web Server.

This gives a genuine Ethernet arrangement combining printing and computer-folder delivery. The original compatibility list and file-sharing requirements are historical; verify the destination's present permissions and protocol compatibility. A front USB flash-drive scan is another destination, not proof of a USB desktop scanner driver.

Analog fax is included on z+ but requires its own telephone setup. Ethernet provides networking; it does not replace the analog fax line. Ordinary Wi-Fi is optional rather than included simply because mobile printing appears in the catalogue.

PIN jobs are a separate driver workflow

The guide describes creating a Personal Job with the compatible desktop driver and entering a PIN when retrieving it at the touchscreen. Included secure storage supports that documented workflow. Native AirPrint printing does not automatically expose the same driver job-storage controls.

Storage capacity also deserves an actual-unit check: the 2015 operating guide names a 320 GB disk, while newer model specifications list a minimum 500 GB. The existence of secure storage is established; those revision-dependent capacities should not be combined into one invented configuration.

Plan workload, supplies and installation together

HP declares up to 30 Letter pages per minute in color or black. It recommends 2500–7500 monthly printed pages, distinct from the 120000-page maximum duty figure. The actual guide identifies separate 651A black, cyan, yellow and magenta supplies.

Allow delivery and service space for the paper base and finisher, inspect the electrical label and verify current drivers and supply support. Large input capacity reduces refilling for the right paper sizes; it does not make installation, maintenance or every document route automatic.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The actual original guide declares up to 30 ppm Letter and A4 printing; the U.S. specification separates rated print speed from scanning/copying. Recommended printed volume is 2500–7500 monthly pages; maximum duty is 120000.

Paper handling

Exact z+ includes 100-sheet Tray 1, 250-sheet Tray 2 and 3500-sheet bulk input: 3850 standard ordinary sheets at 75 gsm. The bulk tray accepts only Letter/A4, leaving 350 included positions for Legal/A3/Tabloid. Actual table ticks confirm automatic print duplex for all five named sizes. Envelopes use only Tray 1, up to ten.

Scanning arrangement

Included 100-sheet ADF supports automatic two-sided color acquisition by reversing, not single pass. The exact U.S. maximum is 11 × 17 in; those confirmed feeder sizes are recorded separately from the flatbed, whose exact size range is not established in the read source set. Ethernet network-folder acquisition is explicit; generic USB printing/flash scanning is not a USB desktop-scanner driver.

Computer and mobile connections

Included Gigabit Ethernet and computer USB printing. Ordinary wireless is optional and no standard peer route is asserted. Network-folder scanning uses the configured Ethernet network and destination credentials. A native AirPrint printing plan is separate from computer scanning and driver PIN release.

Supplies and declared yields

The actual English operating guide names 651A supplies: CE340A black, CE341A cyan, CE342A yellow and CE343A magenta. Confirm installed supply life and exact regional replacements; no current price, measured yield or remaining-life claim is made.

Software and support

The actual guide documents driver Personal Job/PIN entry and panel retrieval with included secure disk. The 2015 guide names 320 GB while newer model specifications name minimum 500 GB; exact disk capacity is revision-dependent and should be checked on the offered unit. Native mobile printing does not inherit driver job-storage controls.

Electrical edition and setup

A substantial floor configuration with a bulk-paper base and stapler/stacker requires delivery, ventilation and service access. Unambiguous exact loaded mass/body figures are not retained from flattened launch tables. The exact U.S. specification lists 110–127 VAC; other regional editions differ, so inspect the actual rating label.
