Managed color printing with a substantial supplied paper input

The HP Color LaserJet Managed E65150dn is a dedicated color printer for a compatible computer or wired office network. Its standard package combines 100- and 550-sheet inputs, automatic duplex hardware and documented temporary Personal Job PIN retrieval. It fits an office that wants printing rather than a scanner and can keep wireless accessories outside the base decision.

The original model table identifies 3GY03A, separately from E65160dn 3GY04A. The E65150dn is rated up to 50 Letter pages per minute in black or color, separately 47 ppm on A4. The faster E65160 figures should not migrate into this model's comparison.

HP's exact US technical reference recommends 3,000–24,000 printed pages monthly and separately states 150,000 maximum duty. These are published specifications, not our measured throughput or a promise that every office should operate continuously at maximum duty. The reference does not establish a current offer or stock position.

Count included trays before considering expansion

The supplied ordinary capacity is 650 sheets on the original guide's 75-g/m², 20-lb basis. Letter, Legal and A4 are established within the appropriate supported tray arrangement. A 500-sheet output bin collects completed work; it is not another blank-paper input.

HP lists several optional feeder and stand arrangements. None is added to the supplied total here. Before choosing a particular earlier or managed-service package, check which hardware is actually present, including fixed cassette guides and any accessory stand. An expansion diagram does not establish the seller's included configuration.

For the main cassette, open the tray when idle, position the width and length guides, load below the fill indicator and let the guides touch without bending the stack. Accept the detected paper type and size or modify the panel settings to match the actual stock. Driver and tray settings should describe the same paper.

Envelopes and labels use different paths

The original envelope procedure uses Tray 1 only, up to ten envelopes. Set the actual envelope size, Envelope media type and manual-feed source in the driver. Load them face down, with the top edge toward the printer's front.

Labels follow a different instruction: use Tray 2 or a supported 550-sheet cassette, not Tray 1. Configure the actual label size and type and follow the documented face-up orientation. A general list saying both media are supported does not mean they share a feed routine or ordinary-sheet capacity.

Automatic two-sided printing is included and has a documented desktop-driver routine. The reviewed sources do not establish its precise paper-size subset, so size-specific duplex qualification remains unresolved. Select supported media in the driver and check the exact paper path before committing a recurring specialty or Legal duplex job.

Temporary PIN retrieval is supported without an included hard disk

The original comparison marks job storage and private printing included, while the 500 GB hard disk is optional. Its actual Personal Job instructions allow a compatible desktop driver to wait for retrieval and a configured PIN at the device. This temporary routine is not made unavailable simply because an optional disk exists.

Choose Personal Job under the driver's Job Storage controls and configure the private-job option. At the panel, open Print from Job Storage, choose the folder and document, and enter the four-digit PIN when requested. Use a distinct user and job name to reduce accidental replacement of another waiting file.

A Personal Job is removed after output and is lost if power is lost. It should not be treated as a permanent document archive. Administrator passwords, accessory security hardware and permanent storage requirements are separate questions.

Connections, supplies and installation limits

Computer USB and Gigabit Ethernet are included. Wireless station and Wi-Fi Direct require optional hardware, so neither is a base connection here. AirPrint and Mopria are documented for the suitable network arrangement; mobile printing does not inherit desktop PIN controls or exact media capacity. The original Mac instructions specifically warn that some duplex controls might be unavailable under AirPrint.

The supplied standard cartridges are declared around 12,500 black pages and 10,500 composite color pages under the stated ISO conditions. Actual yield varies. Confirm the exact managed-service supply package rather than substituting a nearby Enterprise cartridge or calculating a live ownership cost.

Allow roughly 20 inches of width and 18 inches of depth before opening trays and doors. The original guide and current support page disagree materially on height and weight, so those limits remain unconfirmed here. Verify the actual unit and electrical plate before installation: separate regional voltage editions are documented, not universal voltage.
