LaserJet Pro CP1525nw Color (CE875A#BGJ)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible light-use setup needing occasional color documents and a choice of local or shared-network desktop printing.

The main tradeoff

The physical printer has no scanner or automatic duplex unit. AirPrint needs suitable firmware, and the original ad-hoc wireless mode does not establish standard Wi-Fi Direct.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can compatible Wi-Fi desktop software print color A4 documents with at least 150 included ordinary input sheets?

Qualifies with earlier references enabled. The exact nw includes infrastructure Wi-Fi, and its cassette supplies 150 ordinary A4 sheets. The separate one-sheet priority slot is attended and does not create a 151-sheet unattended reserve.

Can it print second sides automatically over Ethernet?

Fails. The original driver routine requires manual stack reloading and panel continuation; no automatic duplex unit is included.

Can USB provide color scanning as well as color printing?

Fails. This is print-only hardware. A color printing engine and driver do not supply a physical scanner.

Color output with a small cassette and flexible desktop connections

The HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw suits a compatible light-use environment that wants occasional color documents from a local computer or shared network. The exact nw adds infrastructure Wi-Fi to USB and Ethernet. Its deciding limitations are manual printed second sides, a modest paper input and the absence of multifunction hardware.

HP marks the US CE875A#BGJ reference discontinued. The original manufacturer comparison identifies CP1525n and CP1525nw separately, with wireless added to the latter. This assessment describes the documented nw configuration without claiming current availability, a measured quality ranking or experience owning the machine.

Choose the connection and verify its real queue

USB provides a local computer connection. The original installation procedure waits for the software prompt before attaching the cable and finishes by printing a page from an application. Ethernet setup instead obtains the printer's address from its configuration report and selects the corresponding network device.

Infrastructure Wi-Fi is positively supported on the nw. Follow the supported software or router setup for the actual network, then verify the resulting print queue. The original guide's sample network report and label illustrations include reused material; they are not authority to rename this machine or assign it another model's electrical edition.

The guide also describes an ad-hoc wireless mode. That historic mode does not establish standard Wi-Fi Direct, so a buyer specifically requiring Wi-Fi Direct cannot rely on this assessment to qualify. Check the actual network, driver and security arrangement before planning regular output.

Keep the priority sheet separate from the paper reserve

The printer supplies a 150-sheet cassette and a separate one-sheet priority slot at the stated ordinary-paper weight. The normal paper reserve is 150 sheets; the attended priority sheet is excluded from unattended-capacity matching. The priority slot can handle an occasional different sheet while the cassette remains loaded for ordinary documents.

Letter, Legal and A4 are established by the original paper-size list and plain-paper range. Match paper size and type in the driver to the material actually loaded, and adjust the guides without bending the stack. Envelope and heavier-media jobs have their own loading and paper-type conditions.

Do not treat a general plain-paper count as the number of envelopes or heavy sheets the tray will hold. The original media table separates those cases. Test representative supported stock before committing a longer batch to the device.

Second sides need a person at the printer

The original Windows duplex routine is explicitly manual. The driver first prints one side of the job, after which the operator retrieves and reloads the stack into Tray 2 in the required orientation and presses the panel's OK button. That is different from unattended automatic duplex.

This may be acceptable for an occasional short document when someone can remain near the printer. Frequent long reports, confidential unattended output or a firm automatic-duplex requirement justify comparing a model with the relevant documented hardware and workflow.

The machine is also print-only. It has no original-document glass, feeder, copier or fax. Generic scanner troubleshooting links on a support page do not create those physical functions. Color output should never be confused with color scanning.

Mobile support needs its firmware condition

HP's exact-model support specification lists AirPrint while warning that a firmware upgrade may be required. A compatible device on a suitable shared network therefore has a source-backed route, provided the actual unit has the necessary firmware. The presence of an old wireless queue alone does not verify it.

The mobile route is kept separate from the desktop driver's detailed media controls. This assessment does not transfer every paper or capacity condition into an unverified app workflow, and it does not promise that historic cloud services remain available. Confirm the particular local mobile function needed.

Workload, supplies and desk fit remain practical checks

The original comparison declares up to twelve black and eight color A4 pages per minute. A separately explicit Letter rate is unconfirmed here. HP recommends 250 to 1,000 monthly pages, distinct from the 30,000-page duty maximum. These are manufacturer declarations rather than site measurements.

The original parts table identifies the four replacement cartridges, while their supplied and replacement yields remain unconfirmed in this assessment. Check the actual supplies, electrical plate and software availability. Allow service space beyond the approximately 15.7 by 17.8 by 10-inch body. Choose the CP1525nw for a proven modest color-printing routine; scanning or automatic second sides call for another configuration.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The original exact comparison declares up to 12 black and 8 color ppm on A4. A separately explicit one-sided Letter figure is not established here, so Letter speed fields remain unknown. Recommended 250–1,000 monthly pages is separate from maximum 30,000 duty.

Paper handling

One-sheet priority Tray 1 and 150-sheet cassette Tray 2 are separate inputs at 75 g/m². The normal paper reserve is 150; the attended priority sheet is excluded from minimum-capacity matching. The original plain-paper range and size list support Letter, Legal and A4. Printed second sides require manual refeeding into Tray 2 and panel continuation. Envelope handling has its own media and orientation conditions; no automatic envelope duplex is claimed.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only hardware: no glass, feeder, computer scanning, copying or fax. Generic support-page links about scanners or feeders do not add those components to this model.

Computer and mobile connections

USB 2.0, built-in 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g/n infrastructure Wi-Fi are documented for the exact nw. The original wireless instructions distinguish infrastructure and ad-hoc modes; no standard Wi-Fi Direct capability is established. An optional external print server is not counted as included.

Supplies and declared yields

The original replacement-parts table lists CE320A black, CE321A cyan, CE322A yellow and CE323A magenta. Supplied and replacement yields are not independently established here. Match the actual regional cartridges and inspect their condition; no live cost-per-page or remaining yield is calculated.

Software and support

Install a compatible print driver and verify the actual configuration page/IP address. The original Windows manual-duplex routine prints the first stack, then requires specified reloading into Tray 2 and panel OK. Exact model support lists AirPrint with a possible firmware upgrade; its separate network plan assumes suitable firmware and compatible devices. No continuing availability of retired cloud services is promised. PIN release remains unknown.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact US CE875A#BGJ is discontinued. Original body is 15.7×17.8×10 inches and 40.64 lb, cartridge basis unestablished. Allow loading, rear access and service clearance. Electrical suitability of the actual unit remains unknown here and requires plate verification; a reused regional label illustration in the guide is not evidence for this model’s voltage.
