Higher M602 speed with the ordinary two-input package

The HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602n offers wired monochrome printing for a prepared commercial office with a 3,000–15,000-page recommended monthly routine. Its nominal 600 ordinary sheets and original 52-ppm Letter rating are useful starting points. The important tradeoff is manual duplex: the automatic mechanism is optional on n, despite broader family promotions.

HP's exact US record identifies CE991A#BGJ and marks the printer discontinued. The original guide separately maps that product number to the n configuration. This earlier review is limited to the documented low-voltage US arrangement, without promising stock, used-unit condition or present-day software support. HP specifies a commercial Class A environment.

Check the real host and network arrangement

The included Gigabit Ethernet interface lets a compatible computer driver send jobs over a wired network. The actual setup prints a configuration page, finds the address on the Embedded Jetdirect page and selects the matching printer during software installation. Verify the address and a real document from your current host before relying on a long queue.

Hi-Speed USB 2.0 is another computer route. Use an appropriate A-to-B cable, separately purchased; the original recommends a maximum of two meters and connecting only when prompted during installation. The host sockets serve different purposes, including front walk-up file printing. The guide lists PDF, PRN, PCL, PS and CHT files, with recognition limits for USB storage devices.

The numeric keypad and hardware integration pocket distinguish the M602 equipment from the simpler M601 front-panel arrangement. They do not by themselves include a card reader, wireless interface or extra authentication solution. Wireless LAN and Wireless Direct accessories remain optional; the standard device does not qualify as built-in Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Direct.

Load 600 ordinary sheets with matching size and type

The front input holds 100 ordinary sheets and the lower input 500 at the original 20-lb/75-g/m² basis. Both actual size columns support Letter, Legal and A4. The selected-size count assumes both relevant inputs contain it, while a mixed-size load divides the total.

Set the lower side and rear guides to the real stack, keep its corners flat below the height indicators and slide the tray fully home. Pull out the front support and keep that stack below its tabs. HP warns against fanning the paper or loading a tray while printing.

Use the panel's size/type prompt to accept or correct the configuration and match the computer job. A front input left at Any Size/Any Type can be selected despite a mismatch. The exact US source limits ordinary lower media to 120 g/m², narrower than a generic guide table's 135; the narrower limit is used here, and thicker stock can reduce the nominal count.

Manual duplex takes a front-tray return batch

The standard n lacks the automatic duplexer. In the original compatible Windows driver, select Print on both sides (manually) in Finishing. After the first sides print, return the stack to Tray 1 with its printed side facing up and press OK on the panel for the second sides.

The 100-sheet front return input governs each second-side batch, even with a full lower input. If unattended page turning is essential, the included mechanism in M602dn or M602x is a material difference. The x also has another included 500-sheet input; it is not part of this n's 600 sheets.

Up to ten supported envelopes use Tray 1 face up with the short postage edge leading into the engine. Open and extend the rear output for the straighter path and choose the envelope settings. The optional 75-envelope feeder is separate. A3 and Tabloid are outside the supported ordinary-size arrangement.

Choose temporary PIN release with its deletion conditions

The compatible computer driver offers Personal Job and PIN to print with a four-digit code. Retrieve Job from Device Memory then selects the user and job and requests the PIN. The actual original separates this temporary memory feature from Quick Copy and permanent Stored Job, which have optional-hard-disk conditions.

Personal jobs delete after printing and at power-off. Duplicate names can replace earlier work, and storage pressure can remove older jobs. The reviewed arrangement therefore supports temporary release, without promising encryption or a permanent archive. No scanner, flatbed, document feeder, copier or fax is included.

Keep mobile printing and supply choices distinct

AirPrint is documented over a network and may need updated firmware. The exact n record also lists Mopria certification. With the printer on Ethernet, place the compatible mobile client on the same reachable local network through its access point. Printer wireless hardware is unnecessary for this route.

That mobile plan has no independently confirmed paper-size, capacity, duplex or PIN behavior. The computer-driver settings are not copied into it. HP ePrint's separate Internet and Web Services conditions are also different from local mobile printing.

Declared one-sided speed is 52 Letter pages per minute, separately 50 A4. Recommended monthly volume reaches 15,000, while maximum duty is 225,000; neither is a new test. Exact US body fields give 16.3-by-16.9-by-15.7 inches and 52.1 pounds, differing from a generic combined guide table. Measure the actual assembly and verify its 100–127-V, 50/60-Hz plate. CE390A and CE390X are documented replacements; high-yield replacement availability does not establish an included high-yield cartridge, remaining toner or running cost.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Exact M602n declares up to 52 one-sided Letter ppm, separately 50 A4. Exact US recommended 3,000–15,000 monthly pages is distinct from maximum duty 225,000. No measured, color or duplex speed inferred.

Paper handling

Exact M602n includes front 100 plus lower 500, total 600 ordinary 20-lb/75-g/m² Letter/Legal/A4 sheets. Full selected-size count assumes both inputs contain it. Set guides and panel size/type, keep flat below limits, do not fan or load while printing. Conservative lower 60–120 g/m² from exact US source versus generic guide 135; heavier stock reduces capacity. Automatic duplexer and third input are optional. Actual Windows manual duplex uses Finishing/Print on both sides (manually), then front Tray 1 printed side up and panel OK. Up to ten front envelopes use face up/short postage edge leading, rear open and extended. Optional 75-envelope feeder and larger inputs excluded.

Scanning arrangement

This is monochrome print-only hardware without a document scanner, flatbed, automatic document feeder, copy function or fax. A color control-panel display does not make color output or add color scanning.

Computer and mobile connections

Included Gigabit Ethernet and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 support a real compatible computer driver. The rear computer connection uses A-to-B USB; the original recommends no more than 2 m and connecting only when installation prompts. The front walk-up host socket is a separate file-printing route, not the computer cable port. Wireless LAN and Wireless Direct accessories are optional; no built-in Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Direct is presumed.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact M602n supports CE390A and CE390X replacement cartridges, about 10,000 and 24,000 pages under ISO/IEC 19752. Detailed original ordering confirms X applicability to M602/M603; exact page says the high-yield X is separately purchased. No installed remainder, current stock, guaranteed full included yield, price or cost per page inferred.

Software and support

The original compatible computer driver provides Personal Job with PIN to print and a four-digit PIN. Retrieve Job from Device Memory selects user/job and requests the PIN. Temporary personal jobs delete after printing and at power-off; repeated user/job names may replace earlier jobs, and space pressure can delete older jobs. Quick Copy and permanent Stored Job have separate optional-hard-disk conditions. The reviewed promise is temporary PIN-held printing, not encryption, permanent archiving or an installed secure hard disk.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact US CE991A#BGJ identity/discontinued, 100–127-V, 50/60-Hz edition and commercial Class A context. Verify actual plate and compatible driver; high-voltage edition is separate. Exact US n body 16.3 W × 16.9 D × 15.7 H inches, 52.1 lb, distinct from packaging. Generic guide combines n/dn dimensions and includes a visible 4515-mm depth typo; exact n fields control. Measure actual assembly and allow opening, cable, tray and cartridge access. Numeric keypad and hardware integration pocket do not include extra solutions.
