LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602x (CE993A#BGJ; US three-input configuration)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A prepared commercial computer network needing 1,100 ordinary Letter, Legal or A4 sheets with automatic duplex within the monthly recommendation.

The main tradeoff

The taller package needs access space. Temporary PIN jobs have deletion limits, while mobile printing does not inherit the computer capacity or duplex promise.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the supplied x automatically duplex ordinary Legal with 1,100 sheets and temporary PIN release for 15,000 monthly pages?

Qualifies with earlier references enabled and a compatible computer driver. The exact x includes both the third input and duplexer; use supported ordinary media and closed rear output, with temporary Personal Job/PIN conditions.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does the same record establish a 1,100-sheet Mopria job arrangement?

Fails that combined requirement because mobile input-count behavior was not independently established. The computer-driver capacity is not copied into the separate Mopria route.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can the x automatically duplex A3 pages through its computer USB port?

Fails A3. The actual supported ordinary and automatic-duplex size columns cover Letter, Legal and A4 rather than a wide-paper path.

The third paper input is included with M602x

The HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602x suits a prepared commercial office needing both automatic two-sided monochrome documents and more included ordinary-paper input. Its front 100 plus two 500-sheet inputs total 1,100 sheets. The original exact configuration also includes the duplex accessory, Gigabit Ethernet and a USB computer connection.

HP's exact US product page identifies CE993A#BGJ and marks the printer discontinued. This earlier review covers its documented low-voltage arrangement, without promising current stock, the condition of a used unit or present-day driver installation. HP specifies commercial Class A use. The x is evaluated as its own package, without borrowing the M603xh's encrypted-disk equipment.

Arrange the three inputs around the paper actually loaded

The original 20-lb/75-g/m² nominal counts are 100 in the multipurpose input and 500 in each included lower input. Letter, Legal and A4 are positively supported in the actual ordinary-size columns. A 1,100-sheet capacity for a selected size assumes all relevant inputs contain that ordinary size; multiple loaded sizes divide the supply.

Release and position the side and rear guides in each lower tray. Keep paper flat at all four corners below the height indicators and slide each tray fully into place. The front stack belongs beneath its tabs with the support extended and guides touching without bending it. Do not fan the stack or load while printing.

Accept or correct the panel's size/type prompt and match the computer job. In particular, Tray 1 set to Any Size/Any Type can be used despite a job mismatch. The exact US lower-media limit is 120 g/m², narrower than a generic guide table's 135, so the narrower limit is used here. Thickness can reduce actual capacity.

Other high-capacity inputs, a printer stand, stacker and stapler are additional equipment. The presence of three included inputs does not establish every optional expansion or finishing feature.

Use the automatic duplexer with the correct paper path

The actual automatic-duplex size column supports Letter, Legal and A4. Ordinary duplex media are 60–120 g/m². Select Print on both sides in the compatible Windows driver's Finishing tab, or the documented Mac two-sided binding setting, with the correct size and type.

Close the rear output before that job. Its open face-up path makes the duplexer unavailable. For duplex letterhead without an added finishing unit, load the front face down/bottom first, or a lower input face up with the bottom toward the tray front. The orientation changes with some optional finishing equipment, which is excluded from this plan.

For up to ten supported envelopes, use the front face up with the short postage edge leading into the engine. Open and extend the rear output for the straighter path, then change back before duplexing ordinary sheets. The optional 75-envelope feeder is separate. Envelopes, labels and transparencies do not become duplex media merely because an input accepts them.

Choose the computer connection and verify its driver

The included Gigabit Ethernet arrangement uses the printer's actual address from the Embedded Jetdirect configuration page. Select the matching device in compatible computer software and verify a real document from the intended host. The older operating-system list does not guarantee current installation.

For rear Hi-Speed USB 2.0, use an A-to-B cable; the original recommends at most two meters and connecting when the installer requests it. Host USB has another role, including front walk-up printing of specified PDF, PRN, PCL, PS and CHT files. Not every storage device is recognized, and that socket does not add scanning.

Wireless LAN and Wireless Direct accessories are optional. The hardware integration pocket and numeric keypad do not include an added wireless module, card reader or separately purchased authentication solution.

Hold a temporary job without promising a permanent archive

In the actual compatible computer driver, choose Personal Job, PIN to print and a four-digit code. Retrieve Job from Device Memory selects user and job and requires the PIN before release. This documented temporary feature provides the reviewed PIN route independently of an encrypted-disk package.

Personal jobs delete after printing and at power-off. Duplicate names can replace earlier work, and storage pressure can remove older jobs. The guide gives Quick Copy and permanent Stored Job separate optional-hard-disk conditions. A product-page storage field does not turn the promise here into permanent retention or encryption.

Keep mobile printing on its documented network route

AirPrint is expressly supported over a network, with firmware possibly needing an update, and the exact x record lists Mopria certification. Keep the printer on Ethernet and the compatible mobile client on the same reachable local network through its access point. Adding printer Wi-Fi is unnecessary for that arrangement.

The mobile route does not independently establish size choices, a 1,100-sheet job guarantee, automatic duplex or PIN behavior. Those computer-driver features remain separate. The printer is also monochrome print-only hardware without a scanner, document feeder, copier or fax.

Account for the taller assembly and working load

HP recommends 3,000–15,000 monthly pages, distinct from maximum duty of 225,000. Declared one-sided speed is 52 Letter pages per minute, separately 50 A4; none is a test or duplex rate.

The exact US x fields list 16.3 inches wide, 20 deep and 20.2 high, weighing 72.1 pounds. Generic guide x/xh measurements differ, so inspect the actual assembly and allow access beyond the listed body. Verify its 100–127-V, 50/60-Hz plate. CE390A and CE390X replacement yields do not establish the toner remaining, an included high-yield cartridge or current running cost.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Exact M602x original declares up to 52 one-sided Letter ppm, separately 50 A4. Exact US recommended 3,000–15,000 monthly pages is distinct from maximum duty 225,000. No measured, color or duplex speed inferred.

Paper handling

Exact M602x includes front 100 plus two lower 500 inputs, total 1,100 ordinary 20-lb/75-g/m² Letter/Legal/A4 sheets, and automatic duplexer. Actual automatic-size column supports all three; ordinary duplex 60–120 g/m², compatible driver Print on both sides and rear closed. Duplex letterhead without finishing: front face down/bottom first, lower face up/bottom toward front. No duplex envelopes/labels/transparencies. Set all guides and panel size/type, keep flat under limits, do not fan or load during printing. Full selected-size capacity assumes all relevant inputs contain it; thicker media reduce stacks. Lower ordinary limit uses exact US 120 versus generic guide 135. Up to ten front envelopes use face up/short postage edge leading, rear open and extended. Other input/stand/finishing hardware and 75-envelope feeder optional.

Scanning arrangement

This is monochrome print-only hardware without a document scanner, flatbed, automatic document feeder, copy function or fax. A color control-panel display does not make color output or add color scanning.

Computer and mobile connections

Included Gigabit Ethernet and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 support a real compatible computer driver. The rear computer connection uses A-to-B USB; the original recommends no more than 2 m and connecting only when installation prompts. The front walk-up host socket is a separate file-printing route, not the computer cable port. Wireless LAN and Wireless Direct accessories are optional; no built-in Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Direct is presumed.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact M602x replacements are CE390A and CE390X, declared about 10,000 and 24,000 pages under ISO/IEC 19752. High-yield X is a replacement purchase rather than an assumed included full cartridge. No installed remainder, current availability, price or cost per page inferred.

Software and support

The original compatible computer driver provides Personal Job with PIN to print and a four-digit PIN. Retrieve Job from Device Memory selects user/job and requests the PIN. Temporary personal jobs delete after printing and at power-off; repeated user/job names may replace earlier jobs, and space pressure can delete older jobs. Quick Copy and permanent Stored Job have separate optional-hard-disk conditions. The reviewed promise is temporary PIN-held printing, not encryption, permanent archiving or an installed secure hard disk.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact US CE993A#BGJ identity/discontinued, 100–127-V, 50/60-Hz edition and commercial Class A context. Verify actual plate and computer driver; separate high-voltage model is not convertible. Exact US x body 16.3 W × 20 D × 20.2 H inches, 72.1 lb, distinct from packaging/open dimensions. Generic guide combines x/xh physical fields; exact model-specific three-input/duplex body values control. Measure actual assembly and allow covers, cables, trays and cartridge access. M603xh encrypted disk and extra HIP solutions are not borrowed.
