M507dngIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A wired monochrome office checking exact 1PV89A US hardware, its own memory and touchscreen configuration, and compatible computer-driver duplex.

The main tradeoff

No included wireless radio or scanner. Held-job PIN storage is unconfirmed for dng; mobile duplex is separate and the US product body does not establish current stock.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the verified US M507dng duplex monochrome Legal computer jobs over Ethernet with 650 ordinary sheets at 7,500 monthly pages?

Qualifies with earlier references enabled, exact US 110V configuration and actual compatible driver on approved paper. Exact model duplex hardware and US size mapping are both positive.

Does standard M507dng include Wi-Fi Direct because the similarly named M507x has an embedded radio?

Fails the selected connection. Exact dng fields require optional wireless hardware; no x radio is borrowed.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do user PIN codes in the dng security table prove ready PIN-held document printing?

Fails that selected requirement because the exact included storage and complete held-job procedure remain unconfirmed. User authentication codes alone are insufficient.

Keep the dng identity separate from ordinary M507dn

The HP LaserJet Enterprise M507dng is a real, separately identified print-only monochrome configuration, not a spelling variation of M507dn. HP's US product body names 1PV89A. An original HP federal catalog row independently describes that exact number as the M507dng 110V US configuration. Those sources establish the reviewed US identity without inventing a #BGJ suffix that the original row does not supply.

The exact technical page lists 512 MB of base memory and a 4.3-inch rotating color touchscreen. The original n/dn/x manual table does not contain a dng column, so its different memory and panel details are not copied into this model. A color touchscreen remains a control surface: the engine prints black only and has no scanner, copier or fax.

The US page currently says not available, rather than providing an explicit discontinued notice in the body read. This is retained as an earlier configuration reference, without claiming a current seller's stock or a particular discontinuation date. The actual unit's electrical label, supplied equipment and condition still need checking.

Included connections are USB and Gigabit Ethernet

The exact M507dng technical specifications list a USB 2.0 device connection, two USB host ports, Gigabit Ethernet and a Hardware Integration Pocket. USB device printing serves a compatible computer queue; the host sockets serve different attached-device functions. A USB cable listed for the Asia-Pacific package does not become an included cable in the reviewed US edition.

Wireless is explicitly optional. HP names Jetdirect accessories for wireless station networking or Wi-Fi Direct, and the appropriate accessory must actually be supplied and configured to add such a route. No radio is counted as standard here. A list of wireless management instructions on a support page does not prove that one is installed.

AirPrint and Mopria are positively listed for the exact model. A phone can use a suitable local-network arrangement to reach an Ethernet-connected printer without a printer radio. The review keeps that mobile routine separate from the compatible computer-driver duplex routine. A broad mobile capability field does not establish every layout or security feature in every phone application.

650 ordinary sheets and included automatic duplex

The exact configuration lists a 100-sheet multipurpose Tray 1 and a 550-sheet main Tray 2, totaling 650 ordinary sheets. Further 550-sheet paper feeders are optional and excluded from base matching. The additional drawer included with M507x is not included merely because the dng also has a touchscreen.

Automatic print duplex is explicitly standard. The exact US support size list names Letter and Legal for both included feeds and the duplex path; the exact metric page names A4, while the specific M507 paper table confirms their feed and duplex mapping. The broad list calls the duplexer optional, but the exact model's installed-hardware field resolves that wording. This review retains automatic duplex only through a verified compatible computer-driver setup on approved ordinary media.

Use the size and type actually loaded and the appropriate binding setting. Legal loading needs the tray's rear extension and clearance around the back. Special-media acceptance is a different question from duplex approval. Do not infer that every paper type in a long compatibility list can be printed automatically on both sides.

The specific paper table assigns envelopes to Tray 1. The original M507 loading procedure uses up to ten, face up with the short postage end leading, with Envelope type and manual feed selected. That is the documented paper-loading routine; it does not establish an automatic envelope-duplex workflow.

Do not turn a user PIN into a held-document promise

The exact security table describes user PIN codes and other identity-management options. Those features do not by themselves prove that a submitted document waits for a release PIN. The included storage and complete private-print prerequisite for this exact dng configuration have not been established in the sources read, so ready held-job PIN release remains unknown.

The original manual explicitly gives an extra USB-drive prerequisite for its n/dn/x columns, but omits dng from those columns. That prerequisite is therefore not silently assigned to dng, nor is an included private-print configuration invented. Verify the exact installed storage, supported driver and actual held-job procedure if that requirement matters.

Speed, workload, supplies and physical fit

The exact specifications declare up to 45 Letter pages per minute by default, separately up to 52 in HP High Speed mode. A4 rates are separately 43 and 50. Matching uses default 45 Letter, and high-speed mode may need firmware. Recommended monthly printing is 2,000–7,500 pages, distinct from the 150,000-page maximum duty cycle. No measured test or reliability score is claimed.

Compatible replacement toner is 89A CF289A, approximately 5,000 pages, 89X CF289X, approximately 10,000, or 89Y CF289Y, approximately 20,000, with ISO/IEC 19752 maker declarations. The original package's nominal 5,000-page cartridge does not establish the remaining supply in a used printer.

The exact dng body table gives 418 by 376 by 326 mm and 12.47 kg with cartridges, approximately 16.46 by 14.8 by 12.83 inches and 27.5 pounds. These are its own figures, not the conflicting n/dn/x body table. M507dng fits a verified US wired monochrome office setup with automatic ordinary-paper duplex, provided optional wireless and unresolved private-job storage are treated as separate checks.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Exact maker default up to 45 Letter ppm, separately 52 Letter HP High Speed; original standard 43 A4 and later 50 A4 High Speed remain separate. Matching uses default 45 Letter. High Speed may require firmware upgrade. Recommended 2,000–7,500 monthly pages differs from maximum duty 150,000. No actual testing or measured performance.

Paper handling

Original guide capacity basis is 75 g/m². Specific HP c06343182 table maps Letter, Legal and A4 to included 100-sheet Tray 1 and 550-sheet feeds, and automatic duplex where exact model hardware is included. Extra optional drawers excluded. Legal requires rear tray extension and dust-cover clearance. Up to ten envelopes use Tray 1 only, face up/short postage end first, correct Envelope type and manual feed; labels also Tray 1 only. Input heavy-stock limits are not automatic duplex permission.

Scanning arrangement

Exact M507 configurations are monochrome print only. Color display, generic support scan/copy/fax links, encrypted PDF/email management descriptions and mobile camera features do not establish scanner/copy/fax hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Exact M507dng 1PV89A includes USB 2.0 device, two host USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet and integration pocket. Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct require separately purchased Jetdirect hardware. Asia-Pacific included USB cable is not included US equipment. Ethernet mobile plan remains separate from computer-driver duplex.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact dng 89A CF289A approximately 5,000, 89X CF289X approximately 10,000, 89Y CF289Y approximately 20,000 pages. Exact US source gives ISO/IEC 19752 replacement-yield footnote; box cartridge nominal 5,000 is separate from actual remaining toner. No live supply price, running cost or unverified exact dng chip-policy claim.

Software and support

Exact dng 512 MB base memory and 4.3-inch touchscreen are independently documented, not copied from n/dn/x. Exact security user PIN codes do not establish held-document release. Included private-job storage and complete prerequisite remain unknown for dng; n/dn/x explicit extra USB-drive condition is not borrowed. Compatible driver automatic duplex separate from mobile routine.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact US maker 1PV89A identity plus original HP federal catalog exact M507dng 110V (US) row establishes reviewed edition. Exact technical table lists 100–127 VAC 50/60 Hz and separate 220–240 VAC, not dual voltage. Exact dng body 418×376×326 mm and 12.47 kg with cartridge, approximately 16.46×14.8×12.83 inches/27.49 lb. US body says not available without explicit discontinued notice; earlier reference is not stock or date claim.
