Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can an Ethernet computer print Legal duplex with 650 sheets and PIN release at 25,000 monthly pages?
Qualifies with earlier references enabled, a compatible driver and both inputs loaded with ordinary Legal stock. Personal Job is temporary and deletes after printing or power loss.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the reviewed standard dn supply at least 1,000 Letter sheets without adding a feeder?
Fails the requested capacity. The included front 100 plus lower 550 totals 650 ordinary sheets; larger feeder configurations are optional.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a network AirPrint job also require the computer driver’s Legal duplex and PIN settings?
Fails this combined request. AirPrint is positively supported on the same reachable network, but those additional settings are not confirmed for the same mobile job.

The HP LaserJet Enterprise M608dn fits a commercial workgroup that wants automatic two-sided computer printing and an explicitly documented high-yield toner choice. Its standard supply is 650 ordinary sheets, not the larger x configuration's third drawer. The declared 65-Letter-ppm engine does not change how often a particular office empties that supply.
The exact US configuration is K0Q18A#BGJ, marked discontinued by HP. It is an earlier commercial Class A printer, with a documented 100–127-V, nominal 50–60-Hz edition. Verify the actual electrical label, assembly and compatible driver. The extra M0P32A number printed in a grouped family column is not substituted for this exact model.
Separate speed, monthly workload and paper reserve
HP declares up to 65 one-sided Letter pages per minute, separately 61 A4. These are original specifications rather than measured office-job results. The recommended monthly range is 5,000–25,000 pages; 275,000 maximum duty is a separate limit, not a recommended sustained workload.
The included inputs are a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and 550-sheet lower drawer. The original count uses ordinary 20-lb/75-g/m² paper. Actual loading tables cover Letter, Legal and A4, including the automatic-duplex arrangement. Filling both inputs with one size establishes its full 650-sheet reserve; splitting letterhead and plain stock divides it.
Set the width and length guides with their blue latches, stop below the full indicators and avoid bending the stack with the guides. On closing the drawer, confirm size and type at the panel, using Modify if needed. The computer's requested stock must agree. Additional drawers and the high-capacity feeder are optional, so a maximum-capacity specification is not the reviewed standard input.
Load for automatic duplex rather than yesterday's simplex job
In the compatible Windows driver, choose Print on both sides under Finishing. The original OS X HP-driver routine uses Layout and a Two-Sided binding choice. HP warns that this driver feature might not be available through AirPrint, which is one reason the mobile route is recorded independently.
With no optional stapling mailbox, preprinted stock for automatic duplex goes into the front tray face down, bottom edge entering first. In the lower drawer it goes face up with the top at the back. Ordinary one-sided directions differ. Alternative Letterhead Mode uses duplex orientation for applicable jobs; a mailbox accessory changes directions again.
The front ordinary range reaches 199 g/m², while the lower drawer is limited to 120. Those input limits are not permission to duplex every thick or special sheet. Use a positively supported media type and the appropriate driver selection rather than relying on weight alone.
Protect release without treating the printer as an archive
The original guide provides memory-stored Personal Job with PIN protection. In a compatible computer driver, select the private job mode before sending. The documented OS X routine uses a four-digit code. At the keypad panel, open Print, Print from Job Storage, select the folder and job, enter the PIN and release the desired copies.
Personal Job deletes after printing and is lost on power interruption. Duplicate names can be numbered or replaced, and limited space can remove older stored jobs. Keep the source file on the computer. The separately optional 500-GB hard disk is not included just because the security list mentions encryption.
Keep wired networking and mobile printing distinct
Gigabit Ethernet and rear computer USB are standard. The exact US technical fields also list AirPrint and Mopria. For the documented local mobile arrangement, leave the printer wired and put the compatible client on the same reachable subnet through its access point.
That separate mobile route does not confirm the computer job's Legal setting, 650-sheet input count, automatic duplex or PIN release. Infrastructure Wi-Fi and direct-print accessories remain optional for this dn. A legacy Wireless Direct paragraph is not an included Wi-Fi Direct radio, and BLE from a different suffix is not borrowed.
The front USB flash-file host is a third arrangement and is disabled until an administrator enables Print From USB Drive. It is distinct from the rear computer connection. Generic USB scanning wording does not add scanning, copying or fax to this print-only hardware.
Check the cartridge and the furniture before committing
The exact replacement list establishes CF237A, CF237X and CF237Y at approximately 11,000, 25,000 and 41,000 declared pages. Higher-yield replacements are separately purchased; the original box lists an approximately 11,000-page cartridge. These yields do not establish a used cartridge's remainder or a live cost per page.
HP explicitly states dynamic security and possible failure of non-HP chips. Separately, administrator Cartridge Protection permanently pairs subsequently installed cartridges when enabled; switching it off does not release those already protected. Check the actual device's supply settings.
The closed US body is 17 inches wide, 18.3 deep and 15 high. Original weight figures conflict, so weight remains unconfirmed. Allow the approximately 40.9-inch opened depth plus cable, ventilation and service room. Choose this dn for its actual duplex and supply arrangement, rather than treating engine speed as a guarantee about the whole office workflow.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Declared one-sided speed is up to 65 Letter ppm, separately 61 A4. Recommended monthly use is 5,000–25,000 pages, distinct from maximum duty 275,000. No measured throughput, duplex rate or comparative job time inferred.
Paper handling
Included multipurpose input holds 100 ordinary sheets and each included lower drawer holds 550 sheets of 20-lb/75-g/m² stock. Actual loading tables positively include Letter, Legal and A4; full selected-size capacity requires all included inputs to hold that size. Set width/length guides, keep below full indicators and accept or Modify the panel size/type to match the computer job. No Stapling Mailbox is included. For ordinary one-sided preprinted stock, front loading is face up/top entering and lower loading face down/bottom at the rear; automatic duplex or enabled Alternative Letterhead Mode changes those directions. Up to ten envelopes use front Manual feed, face up/short postage end leading, after selecting exact size and Envelope type and sending the job. Envelopes do not duplex. Exact K0Q18A/dn standard total is 650 ordinary sheets and automatic duplex. Original detailed orientations positively include Letter, Legal and A4. Without the optional stapling mailbox, duplex preprinted stock loads front face down/bottom first or lower face up/top at the rear. Compatible Windows Finishing selects Print on both sides; original OS X HP driver uses Layout and Two-Sided binding. Front ordinary range is 60–199 g/m², lower 60–120; these are not a universal duplex approval for special media.
Scanning arrangement
This is monochrome print-only hardware with no scanner, document feeder, copy function or fax. Generic scanning words beside the USB host in the family table do not establish a physical scanner.
Computer and mobile connections
Included Gigabit Ethernet and rear USB 2.0 computer device connection with compatible driver. The front USB flash-file host is a separate function, disabled by default until an administrator enables Print From USB Drive. Infrastructure Wi-Fi through the Jetdirect 2900nw and the Jetdirect 3000w accessory are optional. Confirm the actual firmware, compatible host software and cables.
Supplies and declared yields
Exact US M608dn replacement list positively establishes CF237A/37A, CF237X/37X and CF237Y/37Y, approximately 11,000, 25,000 and 41,000 declared pages under ISO/IEC 19752. The original box lists approximately 11,000 pages; high-yield replacements are separately purchased. Generic color-composite ISO/IEC 19798 footnotes are not used. HP explicitly states dynamic security and intended original HP chip use, warning that non-HP chips may stop working. Separate administrator Cartridge Policy and Cartridge Protection are off by default in the original guide; enabled protection permanently pairs subsequently installed cartridges and disabling it does not release existing protected supplies. No current stock, price, remainder or cost per page inferred.
Software and support
The actual original guide supports memory-stored Personal Job with compatible computer driver and PIN protection, separately from the optional 500 GB hard disk. The OS X routine specifies four digits. At the panel, select Print, Print from Job Storage, folder and job, then enter the PIN and release copies. Personal Job explicitly deletes after printing and is lost on power interruption. Duplicate names can be numbered or overwritten, and limited space can remove oldest jobs. No permanent archive, optional disk or fleet badge reader is included in this temporary release claim.
Electrical edition and setup
Exact US K0Q18A#BGJ is discontinued and commercial Class A. This documented edition uses 100–127 V at nominal 50–60 Hz; separate high-voltage versions are not dual voltage or convertible. Closed dimensions are 17 inches wide, 18.3 deep and 15 high, with the guide’s 380 mm corroborating height despite an incorrect inch label. Weight remains unresolved: exact US 47.7 lb versus original guide 45.4 lb with toner. Allow approximately 40.9-inch fully opened depth and 17.8-inch height plus ventilation, cable and service clearance; inspect actual plate, configuration and compatible host driver.
