LaserJet Enterprise M611dn (7PS84A#BGJ; US configuration)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible commercial computer queue needing ordinary Letter, Legal or A4 within the 5,000–25,000 monthly recommendation.

The main tradeoff

Wireless hardware and larger feeders are optional. Rear USB needs administrator enablement, mobile jobs have separate limits, and original weight figures conflict.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can an Ethernet computer print ordinary Legal duplex with 650 sheets and PIN at 25,000 monthly pages?

Qualifies with a compatible HP driver and both inputs holding ordinary Legal stock. Personal Job/PIN is a temporary release routine, deleting after printing or power loss.

A two-input monochrome queue with flexible replacement yields

The HP LaserJet Enterprise M611dn fits a commercial workgroup that wants automatic duplex, computer-driver PIN release and a positively documented choice of standard, high and extra-high-yield toner. Its ordinary input is 650 sheets. An office that needs a second included lower drawer or standard wireless should compare the exact x assembly rather than assuming those features from the family name.

This review covers the US 7PS84A#BGJ specification reference. HP documents a commercial Class A edition using 100–127 V at nominal 50–60 Hz. The observed maker page establishes specifications, not current stock, a price or a particular seller's condition. Verify the actual plate and compatible host software.

Do the administrator setup before depending on computer USB

Gigabit Ethernet and rear computer USB are standard hardware. The original guide nevertheless says the rear device port is disabled by default. An administrator enables Settings, General and Enable Device USB; install the compatible print software after enablement and provide the separately purchased cable.

The front USB flash-file host has a different enablement setting, Enable Print From USB Drive. It prints specified files through the panel and does not substitute for a computer connection. Keeping those two functions distinct prevents a failed direct-computer setup from being diagnosed as a missing physical port.

Infrastructure and direct-print wireless hardware are optional for this dn. Its included Ethernet can still serve compatible mobile devices through the office network. Generic Multifunction Printer box text does not add a scanner, copier, document feeder or fax to this print-only model.

Match a 650-sheet load to the document

The standard reserve combines a 100-sheet multipurpose input and 550-sheet drawer. HP rates the lower count at ordinary 20-lb/75-g/m² stock. Original tables positively cover Letter, Legal and A4 input and automatic duplex. To keep the full 650 sheets available for one selected size, load both inputs with it; reserving one for forms divides the supply.

Drawer guides may be locked. Where adjustable, release the blue latches to set width and length, avoid squeezing or bending the stack and stay below the fill indicator. Confirm the panel's size and type when closing the drawer, using Modify if needed. Make the computer job request the actual stock.

In the compatible Windows driver, choose Print on both sides under Finishing. The original macOS HP-driver routine uses Layout and a Two-Sided binding choice, with a warning that it might not be available through AirPrint. That caveat is retained in the separate mobile route.

Use the correct preprinted and envelope routine

For automatic duplex without the optional stapling mailbox, the actual lower-drawer table specifies preprinted stock face down with the bottom at the back. Simplex uses face up with the top at the back. Front-tray duplex also uses face down with the bottom entering, while simplex uses face up/top entering.

Alternative Letterhead Mode and a mailbox accessory change which instructions apply. Do not reuse a direction from a previous LaserJet generation without checking this guide. The exact ordinary automatic-duplex range is 60–120 g/m²; the separate front 60–200 range does not approve every heavy sheet for duplex.

For up to ten envelopes, select their size, Envelope type and Manual feed in the compatible Windows driver, send the job, then load Tray 1 face up with the short postage end entering first. Envelopes do not duplex. The larger 75-envelope feeder is optional.

Release a PIN job while keeping the source file elsewhere

The original configuration includes 8 GB eMMC and 512 MB memory. A compatible computer driver offers Personal Job and PIN protection; the macOS routine specifies four digits. At the touchscreen choose Print, Print from Job Storage, Choose, the folder/document and Select, enter the private PIN, set copies and Print.

The guide explicitly says Personal Job deletes after printing and is lost on power interruption. Duplicate names can gain a number or replace an existing job, and space pressure may remove older jobs. Included storage is useful for controlled release, but does not erase those retention limits or include the optional 500-GB disk.

Separate network mobile settings from driver features

Exact US specifications list AirPrint and Mopria. A supported local arrangement leaves the printer on Ethernet and puts a compatible client on the same reachable subnet through its access point. This mobile route does not confirm a paper size, the 650-sheet count, automatic duplex or PIN settings.

The exact replacement list establishes W1470A, W1470X and W1470Y at approximately 10,500, 25,200 and 42,000 declared pages under ISO/IEC 19752. The original box yield is approximately 10,500; high-yield replacements are separately purchased. HP allows new or reused HP chips under its dynamic-security statement and warns that firmware can block non-HP chips. Administrator Cartridge Protection is a separate permanent-pairing condition when enabled.

HP recommends 5,000–25,000 monthly pages, distinct from 275,000 maximum duty. Declared speed is up to 65 one-sided Letter ppm, separately 61 A4. The closed body is 17 inches wide, 18.3 deep and 15 high; original weights conflict. Allow its approximately 40.9-inch opened depth and service room before choosing this actual wired configuration.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared one-sided speed is up to 65 Letter ppm, separately 61 A4 in the actual model table. A generic acoustic footnote mentioning 62 A4 is not substituted for the print specification. Recommended use is 5,000–25,000 monthly pages, distinct from maximum duty 275,000. No measured rate inferred.

Paper handling

Actual original input and automatic-duplex loading tables positively include ordinary Letter, Legal and A4. Each lower drawer holds 550 sheets of 20-lb/75-g/m² stock, with 100 in the multipurpose input. Full capacity for one size requires all included inputs to hold it. Guides may be locked; otherwise use the blue width/length latches, keep below the fill indicator and confirm or Modify the panel size/type to match the computer job. Without an optional stapling mailbox, this original’s lower preprinted duplex orientation is face down with bottom at the rear; simplex is face up/top at the rear. Front preprinted duplex is face down/bottom entering, simplex face up/top entering. Alternative Letterhead Mode and mailbox settings change the applicable instructions. Ten front envelopes use exact size, Envelope type and Manual feed selected before sending; then load face up/short postage end leading. Envelope duplex is unsupported. No optional 75-envelope feeder or high-capacity input included. Exact dn standard supply is 650 ordinary sheets and automatic duplex. Windows HP driver uses Finishing and Print on both sides; macOS HP driver uses Layout and Two-Sided binding, retaining the original AirPrint caveat. The exact automatic-duplex ordinary range is 60–120 g/m², separate from front input 60–200; special media need their own approval.

Scanning arrangement

This is monochrome print-only hardware without scanner, feeder, copy function or fax. Generic Multifunction Printer box text and unrelated recommendation cards do not establish physical scanning hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Gigabit Ethernet and rear USB 2.0 computer device connection are included. The rear port is disabled by default: an administrator must enable Settings, General, Enable Device USB before installing compatible print software; the USB cable is separately purchased. The distinct front flash-file USB host is also disabled by default until Enable Print From USB Drive is enabled. Confirm actual firmware, administrator access, cables and compatible host driver.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact M611dn replacements W1470A/147A, W1470X/147X and W1470Y/147Y have approximately 10,500, 25,200 and 42,000 declared pages under ISO/IEC 19752 continuous-printing conditions. Original box yield is approximately 10,500; high-yield replacements are separately purchased. HP states dynamic security permits new or reused HP chips while blocking non-HP chips, including cartridges that may previously have worked; no blanket remanufactured-cartridge guarantee inferred. Separate administrator Cartridge Policy and Cartridge Protection are off by default in the original guide. Enabled protection permanently pairs subsequently installed cartridges and disabling it does not release existing protected supplies. No current price, stock, remainder or cost per page inferred.

Software and support

The exact original configuration includes 8 GB embedded eMMC and 512 MB memory; its compatible computer-driver Personal Job supports PIN protection. The documented macOS routine uses four digits. At the panel choose Print, Print from Job Storage, Choose, folder/document and Select, enter the private PIN, choose copies and Print. Personal Job explicitly deletes after printing and is lost on power interruption. Duplicate names can be numbered or overwritten, and storage pressure can remove oldest jobs. The optional 500 GB disk is separate. Included eMMC does not change the guide’s explicit temporary-job deletion rules or establish a permanent archive.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact US 7PS84A#BGJ is commercial Class A and documents 100–127 V at nominal 50–60 Hz. Separate high-voltage editions are not dual voltage or convertible. This current manufacturer specification reference makes no inventory or price claim; no explicit discontinued notice was observed. Closed dimensions are 17 inches wide, 18.3 deep and 15 high. The guide’s 380 mm corroborates height despite an incorrect inch label. Weight remains unresolved: exact US 47.5 lb versus guide 45.4 lb with toner. Fully opened dimensions reach approximately 40.9-inch depth and 17.8-inch height. Allow ventilation, cables and service room, and verify actual plate, administrator access and compatible driver.
