Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a compatible computer queue on the configured included Wi-Fi station use ordinary Legal duplex, 1,200 sheets and PIN?
Qualifies with the compatible HP driver and all three inputs loaded with ordinary Legal stock. Personal Job is temporary and deletes after printing or power loss; this is the computer route, separate from phone printing.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a compatible iPhone use the included Wi-Fi Direct route with AirPrint?
Qualifies after the direct function is enabled and the correct printer network is selected. The actual guide explicitly names Apple AirPrint for Wi-Fi Direct on this configuration.
Explore this need in the finder →Does that same direct AirPrint job establish automatic Letter duplex and the full 1,200-sheet capacity?
Fails the combined request. Direct AirPrint is positively supported, but those paper, duplex and capacity settings are not confirmed for the same mobile job.
Explore this need in the finder →Choose the x when the extra drawer and wireless are useful
The HP LaserJet Enterprise M611x fits a commercial monochrome queue that needs two lower drawers, automatic duplex and included wireless networking. The exact US standard supply is 1,200 ordinary sheets, and HP explicitly lists built-in dual-band wireless station, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth low-energy capability. Those are configuration-specific advantages over treating every M611 as the same machine.
This review covers 7PS85A#BGJ, the US specification reference. HP documents a commercial Class A edition using 100–127 V at nominal 50–60 Hz. Verify the delivered third drawer, radio, actual plate and compatible software. The observed maker page does not establish a seller's present stock, price or condition, and the separately named refurbished 7PS85AR is not substituted here.
Use three inputs without inflating every paper reserve
The front 100 plus two lower 550-sheet drawers total 1,200 ordinary sheets. Each lower rating uses 20-lb/75-g/m² stock. Original loading and duplex tables positively include Letter, Legal and A4. Full capacity for one selected size assumes all three inputs contain it; allocating separate drawers to forms and different sizes divides that supply.
Drawer guides may be locked. Where adjustable, use the blue latches to set width and length, stay below fill indicators and keep guides from bending the stack. Confirm each drawer's size and type at the panel, using Modify when needed. Make the computer request the loaded stock rather than expecting physical size alone to choose the right input.
The original x column includes the third 550-sheet feeder, but the larger high-capacity feeder remains optional. Expanded maximum-input specifications describe more hardware and clearance than the reviewed standard assembly.
Keep wireless computer jobs and phone routes explicit
The original exact x connectivity column marks the 3100w wireless arrangement included, and the US wireless field positively states dual-band station, Wi-Fi Direct and BLE. Generic optional-accessory entries do not turn those positive x fields into an included-radio claim for the dn models.
A compatible HP computer-driver queue can use the configured local network through Ethernet or the included wireless station. For direct USB, the rear device port is disabled by default: an administrator enables Settings, General and Enable Device USB before installing software. The USB cable is separate. The front flash-file USB host has its own enablement setting and function.
Exact US AirPrint and Mopria support a separate local-network mobile route on the same reachable subnet through the access point. Mobile paper size, input count, duplex and PIN are unconfirmed here. The computer driver's Legal duplex and 1,200-sheet reserve do not automatically apply to the phone.
Unlike older manuals that discuss Apple under legacy Wireless Direct, this actual guide explicitly lists Apple AirPrint under Wi-Fi Direct, alongside Android embedded printing. Enable Settings, Networking, Wi-Fi Direct and Status as required, identify the correct printer's direct name and use a compatible client. This peer route establishes AirPrint, but not Mopria or the additional driver settings.
Load forms for the actual duplex arrangement
In the compatible Windows driver, choose Print on both sides under Finishing. The original macOS HP-driver routine uses Layout and a Two-Sided binding choice, while warning that it might not be available through AirPrint. Ordinary automatic-duplex stock is limited to 60–120 g/m²; the separate front 60–200 input range is not a universal duplex approval.
Without an optional stapling mailbox, the lower-drawer table specifies preprinted duplex sheets face down with the bottom at the back; simplex uses face up/top at the back. Front duplex stock goes face down/bottom entering, while simplex uses face up/top entering. Alternative Letterhead Mode and mailbox settings change the applicable instructions.
For up to ten envelopes in the front input, choose their size, Envelope type and Manual feed in the compatible Windows driver, send the job, then load face up with the short postage end leading. Envelope duplex is unsupported; the 75-envelope feeder is optional.
Use PIN release with its stated deletion behavior
The original configuration includes 8 GB eMMC and 512 MB memory. Its compatible-driver Personal Job routine supports PIN protection, with four digits in the documented macOS procedure. At the touchscreen choose Print, Print from Job Storage, Choose and the folder/document, then Select, enter the code, set copies and Print.
Personal Job explicitly deletes after printing and is lost on power interruption. Names can gain a number or replace a file, and limited space can remove older jobs. Keep the source file elsewhere. The optional 500-GB disk is separate, and neither storage nor a color touchscreen adds scanning, copying or fax.
Check workload, toner policy and the taller assembly
HP declares up to 65 one-sided Letter ppm, separately 61 A4. Recommended use is 5,000–25,000 monthly pages, distinct from 275,000 maximum duty. Exact W1470A/X/Y replacements declare approximately 10,500/25,200/42,000 pages under ISO/IEC 19752; the original box yield is approximately 10,500, with high-yield replacements separate.
HP's dynamic-security statement permits new or reused HP chips and warns that firmware blocks non-HP chips. Separately, enabled Cartridge Protection permanently pairs subsequently installed supplies; switching it off does not release those already protected.
The standard body is 17 inches wide, 18.3 deep and 19.9 high, weighing 58 lb with toner. Fully opened depth reaches approximately 43.3 inches. Allow the tall drawer stack, cables and service access before choosing this x for its actual included capacity and wireless arrangement.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Declared one-sided speed is up to 65 Letter ppm, separately 61 A4 in the actual original model row. An acoustic measurement footnote mentioning 62 A4 is not substituted for that print specification. Recommendation is 5,000–25,000 monthly pages, distinct from maximum duty 275,000. No measured job time inferred.
Paper handling
Actual original input and automatic-duplex loading tables positively include ordinary Letter, Legal and A4. Each lower drawer holds 550 sheets of 20-lb/75-g/m² stock, with 100 in the multipurpose input. Full capacity for one size requires all included inputs to hold it. Guides may be locked; otherwise use the blue width/length latches, keep below the fill indicator and confirm or Modify the panel size/type to match the computer job. Without an optional stapling mailbox, this original’s lower preprinted duplex orientation is face down with bottom at the rear; simplex is face up/top at the rear. Front preprinted duplex is face down/bottom entering, simplex face up/top entering. Alternative Letterhead Mode and mailbox settings change the applicable instructions. Ten front envelopes use exact size, Envelope type and Manual feed selected before sending; then load face up/short postage end leading. Envelope duplex is unsupported. No optional 75-envelope feeder or high-capacity input included. Exact x includes front 100 plus two lower 550-sheet drawers for 1,200 ordinary sheets and automatic duplex. Compatible Windows HP driver uses Finishing and Print on both sides; original macOS HP driver uses Layout and Two-Sided binding, retaining the AirPrint caveat. The ordinary duplex range is 60–120 g/m², separate from front input 60–200. No optional larger high-capacity feeder is counted.
Scanning arrangement
This is monochrome print-only hardware without scanner, feeder, copy function or fax. Generic Multifunction Printer box text and unrelated recommendation cards do not establish physical scanning hardware.
Computer and mobile connections
Gigabit Ethernet and rear USB 2.0 computer device connection are included. The rear port is disabled by default: an administrator must enable Settings, General, Enable Device USB before installing compatible print software; the USB cable is separately purchased. The distinct front flash-file USB host is also disabled by default until Enable Print From USB Drive is enabled. Confirm actual firmware, administrator access, cables and compatible host driver. Exact US M611x also positively includes dual-band infrastructure wireless station, Wi-Fi Direct and BLE, corroborated by the actual x column’s included 3100w arrangement. Generic optional-accessory descriptions do not replace the exact x standard fields. Configure the included station on the reachable local network before a compatible computer-driver wireless job. Wi-Fi Direct has its own Settings, Networking, Wi-Fi Direct, Status enablement and printer name; BLE is not assumed to be a universal Bluetooth document transport.
Supplies and declared yields
Exact M611x W1470A/147A, W1470X/147X and W1470Y/147Y declared yields are approximately 10,500, 25,200 and 42,000 pages under ISO/IEC 19752 continuous-printing conditions. Original box yield is approximately 10,500; high-yield replacements are separately purchased. HP states dynamic security allows new or reused HP chips while blocking non-HP chips, including cartridges that may previously have worked; no blanket refill guarantee inferred. Separate administrator Cartridge Policy and Cartridge Protection are off by default in the guide. Enabled protection permanently pairs subsequently installed cartridges and switching it off does not release existing protected supplies. No live stock, price, remainder or cost per page inferred.
Software and support
The exact original configuration includes 8 GB embedded eMMC and 512 MB memory; its compatible computer-driver Personal Job supports PIN protection. The documented macOS routine uses four digits. At the panel choose Print, Print from Job Storage, Choose, folder/document and Select, enter the private PIN, choose copies and Print. Personal Job explicitly deletes after printing and is lost on power interruption. Duplicate names can be numbered or overwritten, and storage pressure can remove oldest jobs. The optional 500 GB disk is separate. Included eMMC does not change the guide’s explicit temporary-job deletion rules or establish a permanent archive.
Electrical edition and setup
Exact US 7PS85A#BGJ is commercial Class A and documents 100–127 V at nominal 50–60 Hz. Separate high-voltage editions are not dual voltage or convertible. Current manufacturer specification reference makes no stock, price or seller-condition claim. Standard body is 17 inches wide, 18.3 deep and 19.9 high, weighing 58 lb with toner according to the original guide and consistent with exact US fields. Fully opened dimensions reach approximately 43.3-inch depth and 22.9-inch height. The distinct refurbished 7PS85AR page’s contradictory smaller-body figures are not borrowed. Allow cable, ventilation, drawer and service access; inspect actual third drawer, radio, plate, administrator access and compatible driver.
