P2015nIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A wired monochrome queue printing Letter/Legal/A4 within 740–3,000 recommended monthly pages, with manual two-sided reloading acceptable.

The main tradeoff

No automatic duplex, standard wireless or scanner. The inherited CB449A lead is not a verified US SKU, and exact n weight remains unconfirmed.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the P2015n share Legal printing over Ethernet with 300 included sheets for 2,500 monthly pages?

Qualifies with earlier references enabled and a compatible network driver. The guide gives an included internal network interface and 300 standard sheets; the exact n support record recommends up to 3,000 monthly pages.

Can its n configuration automatically turn A4 sheets on a shared job?

Fails. The exact n inherits manual duplex; the guide assigns automatic duplex to d/dn/x.

Does an optional wireless print server count as standard Wi-Fi?

Fails. The standard configuration does not include that external accessory or a built-in wireless radio.

A genuine network model, with a narrower identity claim

The HP LaserJet P2015n is an earlier monochrome printer for sharing ordinary documents through its included internal network interface. The model is expressly named in the original HP user guide and on HP's US support site. This review covers its documented 110–127-volt configuration. The inherited CB449A product-number lead has not been independently matched to a precise US package, so that number is not presented as a verified US SKU.

This distinction preserves what is actually established: the P2015n exists as a specific hardware configuration, includes USB and an internal network port, and does not include the automatic duplex function of the d or dn model. A US specification sheet covering base, d, dn and x omits n; its absence from that particular four-column sheet does not erase the separate n paragraph in the original guide.

Networking is included, while wireless and duplex are not

Use the included Ethernet interface for a compatible wired network queue, or USB for a directly connected computer. A current compatible driver and a reachable network address are still necessary. The original material lists external wireless print-server accessories as options; those are not evidence of a built-in Wi-Fi radio or Wi-Fi Direct. No exact AirPrint or Mopria arrangement was established, so modern mobile printing should not be inferred from the Ethernet socket.

The n configuration inherits the base model's manual two-sided routine. It requires someone to print the first side, collect and reload the stack, then use the appropriate Go-button continuation. A driver checkbox for two-sided output is not proof of an automatic turning mechanism. If unattended duplex is essential, the P2015dn is a materially different configuration to assess.

For a shared office, this makes the P2015n most suitable when one-sided forms, correspondence or reports dominate the workload. The connection simplifies computer sharing; it does not replace a missing paper path. No scanner, document feeder, independent copier or fax hardware is present.

Paper capacity and recommended volume are useful limits

The standard paper feeds are a 50-sheet multipurpose Tray 1 and 250-sheet Tray 2. The original guide states their 75 g/m² capacities, and the family media ranges extend from 3 by 5 to 8.5 by 14 inches for the relevant trays. Letter, Legal and A4 ordinary-paper jobs therefore fit the 300-sheet standard input arrangement. The additional 250-sheet Tray 3 is optional and is not credited as included.

Occasional envelopes use Tray 1, up to ten, with suitable laser-compatible media and the correct driver setting. Open the recommended rear straight-through output path for that routine and collect the output. The rear path does not stack sheets in the normal output bin, so allow access behind the printer. Ten envelopes and 50 ordinary sheets are separate limits for the same multipurpose feed.

HP's exact n support record recommends 740 to 3,000 pages per month. That is the range used for a recurring-volume requirement. A maximum monthly duty value for this exact n configuration was not independently established from the material read and is left unknown. The original guide's inherited engine rating is up to 27 one-sided Letter pages per minute, separately 26 A4; neither figure is a measurement of the unit being offered.

Check the earlier hardware and its actual setup

The guide's all-series supply list identifies Q7553A and Q7553X. Their declared replacement yields are approximately 3,000 and 7,000 pages under ISO/IEC 19752, not the remaining toner in an installed cartridge. Ask for the supplies-status and configuration pages and sample output. Verify that both the intended network route and the local controls work through the actual current driver.

Do not borrow another suffix's weight merely because the cabinet looks similar. A precise n weight was not established. The common physical material has a 350-millimeter width, approximately 13.8 inches; the guide's 16.8-inch parenthetical is inconsistent and is not retained. The published 14.3-inch depth is labeled with Tray 1 open rather than a precise closed-body measurement, so rear and service access still need independent allowance.

Inspect the rating label for the reviewed 110–127-volt version; the original n electrical table also lists a separate 220–240-volt edition. Confirm current software support rather than treating an old CD's operating-system list as a present guarantee. A complete P2015n can remain useful as a wired monochrome queue when its manual duplex routine and print-only scope match the work.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Maker maximum 27 one-sided Letter pages per minute, separately 26 A4. Neither is a measured result or automatic-duplex throughput. Use recommended 740–3,000 monthly pages for routine sizing rather than a duty-cycle maximum.

Paper handling

Included 50-sheet multipurpose Tray 1 plus 250-sheet Tray 2, rated at 75 g/m². HP gives a 3 × 5 to 8.5 × 14-inch range for each tray, covering Letter/Legal/A4; included normal-paper capacity 300 for each. Optional 250-sheet Tray 3 is excluded. Tray 1 accepts up to ten envelopes with the rear straight-through output open, correct driver type and suitable laser media.

Scanning arrangement

Monochrome print-only family hardware has no flatbed, document feeder, independent copier or fax. Print-driver booklet and copy-count options do not add original scanning.

Computer and mobile connections

Exact P2015n inherits base USB and adds an internal Ethernet network port under original guide page 3. No included automatic duplex or wireless radio. External Jetdirect wired/wireless print servers are optional; no precise Ethernet link-rate claim is assigned from a different suffix.

Supplies and declared yields

HP 53A Q7553A approximately 3,000 pages or 53X Q7553X approximately 7,000, declared under ISO/IEC 19752. These are replacement declarations, not remaining toner or cost per page. Included toner yield is not assigned without an exact package declaration.

Software and support

Original Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Mac OS X 10.2.8–10.4.3 lists are historical. Verify a currently compatible driver and real available controls. AirPrint, Mopria and secure held-print PIN release are not established; an embedded-Web-server password is not a job-release PIN.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact current HP US P2015n model identity plus original page 127 Table C-3 expressly documents its 110–127 V, 50/60 Hz variant. This review is limited to that configuration; 220–240 V is separate. CB449A remains an unverified inherited SKU lead, not a claimed US crosswalk. Guide 350 mm width converts to 13.8 inches, not erroneous 16.8; 256 mm height about 10.1. Closed depth and exact n weight remain unknown; allow operating access.
