P4015tnIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A wired Letter/Legal/A4 workgroup needing 1,100 included sheets within 3,000–15,000 recommended monthly pages.

The main tradeoff

Automatic duplex is optional. No scanner or standard wireless; inherited #201 package suffix is not a verified US electrical crosswalk.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the standard P4015tn hold 1,100 Legal sheets for Ethernet printing at 15,000 monthly pages?

Qualifies with earlier references enabled and all three feeds configured for Legal. The exact tn includes both 500-sheet cassettes plus 100-sheet Tray 1, and recommended volume reaches 15,000.

Does the extra tn paper tray also supply automatic duplex?

Fails. The original exact tn paragraph adds the cassette only; a duplexer is optional.

Can it scan original documents to the connected computer?

Fails. The tn is print-only with no scanner or document feeder.

The extra-tray model does not include automatic duplex

The HP LaserJet P4015tn is an earlier monochrome printer for a wired workgroup that benefits from more paper loaded at once. HP's US store identifies the exact model as CB510A and marks it discontinued. Its original user guide states precisely what the tn adds: another 500-sheet paper tray. The automatic duplexer remains optional.

This review covers the documented US 100–127-volt model configuration. An inherited CB510A#201 package suffix has not been independently established as a US electrical edition, so that suffix is not treated as proof of voltage or a verified US SKU. Inspect the offered unit's rating label and physical tray inventory.

Three feeds provide 1,100 standard sheets

The included arrangement is 100-sheet Tray 1, 500-sheet Tray 2 and a second 500-sheet cassette. Capacities are rated with 75 g/m² paper. The original supported-size table checks Letter, Legal and A4 for Tray 1 and the 500-sheet feeds, so the 1,100-sheet total is usable for those ordinary-paper requirements.

Separate cassettes can help keep two stocks or sizes ready, provided the tray guides, size/type settings and driver selection agree. Loading different sizes does not make all 1,100 sheets one continuous supply for a single size. The capacity figure means the standard feeds support that size when configured and loaded for it; an actual mixed-stock setup needs its own allocation.

The tn has manual two-sided handling in its standard arrangement. Do not confuse the extra lower cassette with an automatic duplexer at the rear. A driver setting, a family brochure or a photograph of another suffix does not establish that the accessory is fitted. If unattended two-sided output is essential, the x configuration includes both the extra cassette and duplexer.

Tray 1 separately accepts up to ten appropriate laser envelopes with the correct media settings. The optional dedicated envelope feeder and other high-capacity accessories are not counted as standard. Letter, Legal and A4 support also does not establish A3 or Tabloid printing.

Wired sharing and personal jobs use the computer driver

Standard connections are the USB 2.0 device port and HP Jetdirect 10/100/1000 Ethernet. Use USB for a directly attached computer or Ethernet for a compatible shared queue. Host USB ports described for supported accessories are distinct from the device connection. No included wireless radio or Wi-Fi Direct arrangement is established.

AirPrint and Mopria are left unconfirmed. A network socket or HP mobile plug-in listing is not enough to assign either named protocol. Verify present-day operating-system support and the available controls in the actual driver instead of assuming the historical installation CD covers a current computer.

The guide positively documents Personal Job printing with a four-digit PIN. A compatible driver stores the personal job and the user releases it at the panel. Test the full send-and-release sequence, particularly on a shared server queue where driver settings may differ. A settings password is separate from job release, and temporary personal jobs do not imply that a permanent storage disk is included.

Check throughput, supplies and placement realistically

HP's maker rating is up to 52 one-sided Letter pages per minute, separately 50 A4. Neither is a duplex rate or our measurement. The recommended monthly workload is 3,000 to 15,000 pages. The separate 225,000-page maximum duty cycle is not used as the recurring monthly recommendation.

The P4015 supply column identifies 64A CC364A at approximately 10,000 pages and 64X CC364X at approximately 24,000, with HP declaring ISO/IEC 19752. These are replacement-cartridge figures. Check the installed cartridge's condition and supplies report rather than treating a nominal yield as remaining toner or a cost-per-page calculation.

The original tn physical row gives about 16.75 inches wide, 17.8 deep and 20.25 high, weighing 66.8 pounds. The extra cassette makes this a taller assembly than the n. Leave additional loading, rear and service clearance; cabinet dimensions are not a complete operating footprint. Inspect sample output, pickup from both cassettes and current driver operation. A complete P4015tn suits a substantial wired monochrome queue when its included 1,100 sheets matter and manual duplex is acceptable. It has no scanner, paper-original copier or fax.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Maker maximum 52 one-sided Letter pages per minute, separately 50 A4. Recommended 3,000–15,000 monthly pages is distinct from maximum duty 225,000. No measured or duplex-throughput claim.

Paper handling

Exact CB510A tn adds a 500-sheet cassette to n: 100+500+500 at 75 g/m², 1,100 standard Letter/Legal/A4 sheets when all feeds are configured for that size. Mixed sizes divide the actual available stock. Automatic duplex and other feeders are optional; Tray 1 accepts ten suitable envelopes separately.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only monochrome hardware has no original scanner, flatbed, document feeder, copier or fax. A print-driver copy-count setting does not add copying hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Standard USB 2.0 device connection and Jetdirect Gigabit Ethernet with compatible computer driver; standard tn has manual two-sided handling. No included Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Direct. Extra lower cassette does not establish rear duplex hardware.

Supplies and declared yields

Original P4015 US column lists 64A CC364A approximately 10,000 pages and 64X CC364X approximately 24,000, declared under ISO/IEC 19752. No remaining-toner, included-yield or cost-per-page claim.

Software and support

Use a currently compatible computer driver, including its Job Storage/Personal Job controls for four-digit PIN release. The original guide permits keypad or arrow-key PIN entry; a numeric keypad is not a prerequisite. Temporary personal jobs are not a promise of an included disk or permanent job storage. AirPrint and Mopria are unestablished; an HP Print Service Plugin listing is not a Mopria claim.

Electrical edition and setup

Review is limited to the documented US 100–127 V, 50/60 Hz configuration. The separate 220–240 V edition is not universal-voltage hardware. Check the actual rating label, installed trays and accessories, current driver and available operating space. Cables are not assumed included. Exact US CB510A model identity is established, but inherited #201 suffix is not crosswalked to a US electrical package. Original tn row: 16.75 W × 17.8 D × 20.25 H in, 66.8 lb; operating clearance is additional.
