The HP LaserJet P4015x is the earlier P4015 configuration for a shared monochrome office that needs both more loaded paper and automatic two-sided output. The original guide identifies CB511A and explicitly adds a 500-sheet cassette and automatic duplexer. HP's original US selection guide independently lists the exact P4015x product number. This review covers the documented 100–127-volt configuration.
The x therefore combines two changes that are separate on other suffixes. The tn includes the extra cassette but not the duplexer, while the dn includes duplex but retains 600 standard sheets. This distinction is useful when assessing a complete older unit: an x listing should actually have both assemblies, rather than merely a family badge and a claim of expandable capacity.
Included capacity and duplex use the documented paper paths
Standard input is 100-sheet Tray 1 plus two 500-sheet cassettes, totaling 1,100 normal-paper sheets at the stated 75 g/m² basis. Letter, Legal and A4 are checked in the original table for the multipurpose tray and 500-sheet feeders. Each feed can be configured for those sizes. If you keep different sizes or stocks loaded, the available sheets for each job will depend on that actual allocation.
The same table positively supports automatic Letter, Legal and A4 duplex. Use a compatible driver that recognizes the installed duplexer, the correct size and media settings, and the proper binding direction. The documented duplex paper range is 60 to 120 g/m²; general tray acceptance does not mean that every special stock is approved for two-sided output.
For occasional envelopes, Tray 1 accepts up to ten appropriate laser envelopes. That is a separate loading routine, and the envelope row is not checked for automatic duplex. The optional dedicated envelope feeder and other high-capacity accessories are not added to the standard 1,100-sheet figure. This configuration does not establish A3 or Tabloid printing.
Use USB or Ethernet with the required driver controls
The P4015x includes a USB 2.0 device connection and HP Jetdirect 10/100/1000 Ethernet. A directly attached computer can use USB, while Ethernet provides the shared wired queue. Host USB connections described for supported accessories and solutions are different and do not establish an additional computer or mobile route.
There is no included Wi-Fi radio or Wi-Fi Direct setup established for the standard x. AirPrint and Mopria remain unknown rather than being inferred from a network connection or an HP plug-in listing. Current computer and driver compatibility need checking; historical operating-system names in an old guide are not present-day guarantees.
HP documents a Personal Job setting with a four-digit PIN. The compatible computer driver stores the personal job, and the user releases it at the panel. Test that sequence through the intended local or server queue. A password protecting configuration is not a job-release PIN. Temporary personal jobs are also different from permanent stored documents, so no included hard disk or retention through a power loss is promised.
Judge the engine and the surviving machine separately
The maker rates one-sided output up to 52 Letter pages per minute, separately 50 A4. These are not measured results or automatic-duplex throughput. The recommended monthly range is 3,000 to 15,000 pages. The 225,000-page maximum monthly duty cycle has a different purpose and is not substituted for that routine workload.
Documented replacement toner choices are 64A CC364A at approximately 10,000 pages and 64X CC364X at approximately 24,000 under HP's ISO/IEC 19752 declaration. Neither establishes remaining toner in an installed cartridge. Ask for supplies information and sample output, and check paper pickup from both cassettes and a real two-sided job.
The original x physical row gives about 16.75 inches wide, 21 deep and 20.25 high, weighing 71.7 pounds. Its rear duplex arrangement gives a deeper assembly than the tn row. Allow additional paper-loading, rear and service access. Verify the actual rating label for the reviewed 100–127-volt version; separate 220–240-volt stock is not universal-voltage hardware.
A complete P4015x can suit a defined wired monochrome workgroup when included automatic duplex and 1,100 sheets are both useful. It remains print-only, with no scanner, paper-original copier or fax, and its documented capabilities depend on the actual assemblies and current software being present.

Paper handling
Exact P4015x CB511A adds automatic duplex plus a second 500-sheet cassette. Standard 100+500+500 at 75 g/m², total 1,100 Letter/Legal/A4 sheets when all feeds are configured for that size. Automatic duplex supports those sizes at 60–120 g/m². Ten Tray 1 envelopes are separate, not duplex; optional further feeders excluded.
Scanning arrangement
Print-only monochrome hardware has no original scanner, flatbed, document feeder, copier or fax. A print-driver copy-count setting does not add copying hardware.
Computer and mobile connections
Included USB 2.0 device port or Jetdirect Gigabit Ethernet with compatible automatic-duplex and Personal Job PIN computer driver. No included Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Direct; host USB accessory ports are distinct.

AirPrint and Mopria are unestablished; an HP Print Service Plugin listing is not a Mopria claim.
Electrical edition and setup
Review is limited to the documented US 100–127 V, 50/60 Hz configuration. The separate 220–240 V edition is not universal-voltage hardware.
