LaserJet Pro 3001dwe (3G650E#BGJ; US HP+ reference)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible connected small office printing a recommended 350–2,500 pages monthly and accepting lifetime HP account, Internet and Original HP Toner requirements.

The main tradeoff

No scanner or copier. Exact automatic-duplex paper sizes and included confidential PIN-release operation remain unconfirmed; USB or Direct printing does not remove HP+ requirements.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can a compatible Wi-Fi desktop print monochrome documents with automatic duplex and 250 included sheets at 2,000 pages monthly when paper size is flexible?

Qualifies with earlier references enabled and the HP+ Internet, account and lifetime Original HP Toner conditions. Automatic duplex is confirmed; a specific duplex paper size still needs checking.

Can Ethernet Legal printing use 500 included input sheets?

Fails. The exact supplied configuration has one 250-sheet cassette; its output capacity and envelope loading are not extra blank-paper inputs.

Explore this need in the finder →
Is a documented included PIN-release printing arrangement established for this model?

Fails that selected essential because the exact operating route is unconfirmed. Management and pairing PINs do not establish confidential job retrieval.

Automatic duplex for a small office accepting HP+

The HP LaserJet Pro 3001dwe is a monochrome print-only model with one 250-sheet input tray and included automatic two-sided printing. It offers a useful combination for a small team that wants ordinary document output without a scanner. The deciding condition is HP+: the exact US page requires an HP account, an Internet connection and exclusive use of Original HP Toner for the printer's life.

HP identifies US 3G650E#BGJ and explicitly marks it discontinued. That makes this an earlier-model reference rather than evidence of stock or an available promotional package. The nearby 3001dw has a different suffix; its listing should not replace this e model's policy.

HP declares up to 35 Letter pages per minute. Its recommended monthly range is 350–2,500 pages, separately a 50,000-page maximum duty cycle. The figures describe different things: maximum duty is not a suggested sustained workload, and the one-sided speed is not a duplex-sheet rate or a measured result from us.

Network setup includes account pairing

The exact US specification includes Ethernet and dual-band infrastructure Wi-Fi. The original operating guide also describes computer USB, including the covered rear port. For wireless setup, install HP's supported software, join the printer to the intended network, complete the firmware and proxy steps when applicable, then print the pairing code and connect the printer to the HP account.

The Ethernet procedure uses a separately sold network cable and also leads to account pairing. Connecting that cable automatically disables the ordinary infrastructure Wi-Fi connection. Treat these as alternative network arrangements rather than promising both at once.

A desktop USB cable does not provide an exemption from the permanent HP+ requirements. Retain a supported Internet-connected network arrangement and complete the software setup. Someone seeking a simple offline USB printer should compare an exact model with positively established offline operation.

One paper tray serves several different routines

The included cassette handles up to 250 ordinary sheets or ten envelopes. These are different loadings of the same tray, not separate inputs to add together. Its 150-sheet output capacity is another separate number. The original procedure calls for removing the existing stock before changing size or type.

Letter, Legal and A4 are supported paper sizes. For Legal or longer paper, extend the input tray using its release button. Load ordinary paper in portrait orientation, printable side up, align the stack with the size markings and adjust both guides without exceeding the height mark. Set the matching media size and type in the application or printer software.

Envelopes also enter printable side up in portrait orientation after moving the guides. Labels use the same cassette after removing the paper. The specified general media-weight range is not a guarantee that every stock reaches the ordinary-sheet maximum. The reviewed sources do not establish a separate paper-weight basis for the 250-sheet headline.

Duplex and mobile printing have separate evidence

Automatic print duplex is explicitly included. However, the reviewed references do not establish its exact supported-size list, so this assessment confirms the feature while leaving size-specific duplex qualification unresolved. Simplex Legal support alone does not prove automatic Legal duplex.

AirPrint is documented for compatible devices on the same network. The original guide also provides a genuine Wi-Fi Direct routine: enable it through the embedded web server, obtain the network name and password, then connect the intended computer or mobile device. Direct printing does not remove HP+'s Internet condition.

Mobile plans are kept separate from desktop controls. A wireless pairing PIN and the PIN printed on the printer's management label are not a documented confidential print-job release procedure. The exact page advertises a PIN/pull option, but the reviewed operating guide does not establish its included working arrangement, so that requirement remains unconfirmed.

Supplies, space and the final fit

The US package originally specifies an introductory black cartridge around 1,000 pages. Replacement 138A W1380A is declared around 1,500 and 138X W1380X around 4,000 under HP's ISO/IEC 19752 conditions. Actual yield varies; those numbers do not state remaining toner in an earlier unit or a current cost per page.

The body is approximately 14.4 by 15.7 by 8.6 inches and 16.1 pounds with the cartridge, with much more depth and height needed when open. Verify the actual electrical plate because HP documents separate voltage editions. Choose the 3001dwe when connected monochrome printing and automatic duplex fit the office, and the permanent account and supply conditions are acceptable.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Exact US up to 35 Letter ppm, separately recommended 350–2,500 pages monthly and 50,000 maximum duty. Duplex ipm and Letter simplex ppm are not interchangeable; no measured speed or inferred sustained-duty promise.

Paper handling

One included 250-sheet cassette or ten envelopes, with separate 150-sheet output. Letter/Legal/A4 positively supported; original Legal loading extends the input tray. General supported media range 60–163 g/m² does not establish the ordinary capacity weight basis. Automatic print duplex is included, but exact duplex-size range remains unconfirmed and is not inferred from simplex sizes.

Scanning arrangement

Exact print-only monochrome laser. No scanner, copier, feeder or fax; generic HP Smart scan/cloud language does not establish scanner hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Exact US Ethernet and dual-band 2.4/5-GHz infrastructure Wi-Fi; original operating guide positively documents computer USB and genuine Wi-Fi Direct. HP+ requires an HP account, Internet connectivity and exclusive Original HP Toner for life. Ethernet disables ordinary infrastructure Wi-Fi; network arrangements are alternatives. USB/Direct do not establish offline exemption and require a retained Internet-connected arrangement.

Supplies and declared yields

Original US introductory black around 1,000 pages; replacement 138A W1380A around 1,500 and 138X W1380X around 4,000, declared ISO/IEC 19752 continuous-print conditions with variable actual yield. Lifetime Original HP Toner condition is separate from optional Instant Ink enrollment or the dated trial offer. No present offer, remaining toner or cost-per-page promise.

Software and support

Original setup includes supported HP software, applicable firmware/proxy settings, printed pairing code and account portal registration. AirPrint and actual Direct printing routines confirmed; Mopria not established. Management-label EWS PIN and WPS/Direct pairing PIN are not print-job release. Exact marketing PIN/pull claim lacks an established included operational route in the reviewed guide, so secure PIN remains unknown.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact US 3G650E#BGJ explicitly discontinued. Body approximately 14.4 × 15.7 × 8.6 inches and 16.1 lb; original dimensional table confirms with-cartridge weight and fully open 14.45 × 29.87 × 14.41 inches. Allow extended-tray and cartridge access. Source lists separate 110–127-V and 220–240-V, 50/60-Hz editions; exact electrical option crosswalk unconfirmed, so verify the actual rating plate.
