LaserJet Pro MFP M130fw (G3Q60A#BGJ; US configuration)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A small office printing a recommended 150–1,500 black pages monthly, using compatible full computer scanning software or tested Letter/A4 glass email/folder delivery.

The main tradeoff

No automatic print or scan duplex. Feeder/glass scan size is Letter/A4; mobile printing and destination PINs do not establish computer scanning or held-print release. Fax needs telephone service.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can a compatible Wi-Fi computer print black A4 documents, scan A4 color originals through the feeder, copy and fax with 150 ordinary sheets?

Qualifies with earlier models enabled, the compatible full computer installation and separate suitable telephone service for fax. The exact fw includes wireless networking and a 35-sheet simplex feeder; print duplex remains manual.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can I require automatic two-sided Letter feeder scanning over Ethernet?

Fails. Exact fw support explicitly says duplex ADF scanning is unavailable. A touchscreen, color scan capability and fax do not establish automatic two-sided file capture.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can the four-digit email-profile PIN qualify PIN-held USB print release?

Does not qualify. That PIN protects use of a scan destination, while the reviewed sources do not establish held-print release for this exact configuration.

A touchscreen adds destinations, not automatic duplex

The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fw is a compact monochrome office machine for printing, copying, color scanning and analog fax. Its useful advantage over simpler family variants is a 2.7-inch touchscreen with configured scan-to-email and network-folder destinations, alongside USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Its deciding compromise is that both print duplex and handling two-sided originals remain manual.

The reviewed package is discontinued US G3Q60A#BGJ, with a documented 110–127-V, 50/60-Hz power configuration. It should be assessed as an earlier reference requiring compatible software and a checked actual unit, rather than as proof of present stock. A color touchscreen and color scanner do not change its black-only print engine.

HP rates Letter printing at up to 23 ppm; the exact family table separately gives 22 ppm on A4. Recommended monthly volume is 150–1,500 pages, while 10,000 pages is the maximum duty figure. These published numbers are distinct from measured review results.

Two ways to get files to a computer

A compatible full computer installation provides HP Scan on Windows or HP Easy Scan on Mac through the supported USB or network arrangement. The actual Easy Scan procedure accepts feeder or glass originals, follows the chosen scanning settings and saves the completed pages as a file. Check the current supported application and exact computer environment before relying on historical installation instructions.

Panel delivery is a different arrangement. For a network folder, configure an accessible shared path and credentials through the setup wizard or Embedded Web Server. Enable the feature and use Save and Test to confirm access. A computer with an unavailable share will not receive scans simply because the printer can print over the network.

Email requires a configured SMTP server, port and the applicable authentication and encryption settings. Verify those settings with the actual provider; the guide's historical example values are not a current provider configuration. The optional four-digit profile PIN controls use of that destination, rather than releasing a held print job.

The documented panel email and folder procedures both start with an original on the scanner glass. Those plans therefore retain Letter/A4 glass delivery and do not borrow the computer application's feeder routine. Email delivers an attachment; folder capture writes to the configured share. Neither is direct USB computer scanning.

A 35-sheet feeder with one-sided capture

The exact US technical specification confirms a 35-sheet ADF and expressly says duplex ADF scanning is unavailable. Its maximum scan area is 8.5 × 11.7 inches, supporting Letter/A4 files. The glass has the same useful maximum. Legal printing is confirmed separately and does not establish Legal scanning.

Feeder optical capture reaches up to 300 dpi in color or monochrome. The glass separately supports up to 600 dpi color or 1,200 dpi monochrome. Use suitable feeder originals and the scanner's guides; fragile or unsuitable originals belong on the glass. A two-sided stack still needs an attended manual routine.

An older technical insert says 50-page feeder, 150-sheet output and gigabit Ethernet. Current exact US specifications instead give 35, 100 and Fast Ethernet 10/100. This assessment uses those exact-model values while keeping the old source difference visible, rather than presenting a fictional combined package.

150 sheets and a deliberate reload

The one included paper input holds 150 sheets of ordinary 75-g/m², 20-lb stock. Its reserve excludes the 35-sheet original feeder and 100-sheet output. Letter, Legal and A4 print sizes are supported, but the automatic print duplexer is absent.

Load ordinary stock face up/top first, straighten replenished paper without fanning, adjust the guides and select the correct paper settings. Up to ten suitable envelopes load face up with the short return-address end entering first; choose Envelope media in the driver.

Windows manual duplex requires selecting the manual two-sided setting, waiting for the first pass and reloading printed sides down/top first before confirming. The original Mac procedure requires the HP driver and may not appear through AirPrint. A mobile connection does not remove the physical reload step.

Mobile printing and fax have separate requirements

Local AirPrint and Mopria printing are documented. Genuine Wi-Fi Direct also supports compatible peer printing; the original guide specifically describes Android with the HP Print Service or Mopria plugin. Authenticate as required and reconnect to the ordinary network afterward if the device needs it. These print routes do not establish computer scanning or exact paper-capacity combinations.

Fax uses suitable telephone service through its line connection, separately from Ethernet, Wi-Fi and email. Configure the actual answer mode and line arrangement rather than assuming arbitrary VoIP compatibility. Network administrator and destination PINs do not establish secure held-print release.

The original box declares about 700 introductory toner pages and a separately rated 12,000-page imaging drum. Replacement 17A CF217A toner is declared around 1,600 pages; separate 19A CF219A drum life is around 12,000 under ISO/IEC 19752 continuous-printing conditions. Actual yields vary.

The exact US body is 16.66 × 11.34 × 11 inches and 16.76 lb with an unstated cartridge basis. Maximum depth grows to 20.13 inches. Allow scanner, feeder, paper and top supply access; choose a current automatic-duplex model if avoiding manual handling matters more than these legacy touchscreen destinations.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Exact US fw declares up to 23 monochrome Letter ppm, separately 22 A4 ppm in the original exact model table. Recommended monthly print volume 150–1,500 is distinct from maximum duty 10,000. ADF scan rates and copy speed use separate document/operation bases, not print ppm.

Paper handling

One included 150-sheet input rated by the original operating guide with 75-g/m², 20-lb stock; 100-sheet output and 35-sheet original feeder are separate. Letter/Legal/A4 printing and up to ten envelopes are supported. Ordinary stock loads face up/top first, guides snug, replenished stack straightened without fanning. Envelopes face up/short return-address end first, correct Envelope media and actual size selected. Windows manual duplex returns printed sides down/top first and requires confirmation; Mac manual duplex needs the HP driver and may not appear with AirPrint. No automatic print duplex. Older insert output/feeder values differ and are not counted.

Scanning arrangement

Exact fw support confirms a 35-sheet simplex color feeder and explicitly no duplex ADF scanning. Detailed US ADF maximum is 8.5 × 11.7 inches, with Letter/A4 file capture qualified; glass likewise Letter/A4. Legal printing does not establish Legal scanning. Color/mono ADF up to 300 dpi, color glass up to 600, monochrome glass up to 1,200. Compatible HP Scan/Easy Scan/TWAIN/WIA provides computer files; original Mac procedure explicitly accepts feeder or glass. Panel SMTP and folder delivery procedures explicitly start on glass, so their independent plans retain glass only. No original automatic two-sided file route.

Computer and mobile connections

Included computer USB 2.0, Fast Ethernet 10/100, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and distinct telephone line in/out. Genuine Wi-Fi Direct peer printing is confirmed, separately from shared-network Wi-Fi. AirPrint/Mopria local printing and Android Mopria/HP Print Service Direct setup are documented. Older family insert gigabit wording does not override exact US Fast Ethernet. Mobile plans do not borrow computer capture or exact-size capacity. Fax needs suitable telephone service; computer USB is not a removable-storage scan promise.

Supplies and declared yields

US original box declares approximately 700 introductory black toner pages and a separately rated 12,000-page imaging drum. Replacement 17A CF217A toner approximately 1,600 pages; 19A CF219A drum approximately 12,000, under maker ISO/IEC 19752 continuous-printing conditions. Actual yields vary. Original common supply table distinguishes M130 from M132 and Ultra supplies. No remaining toner, current cost per page, review test or lifetime HP+ commitment is invented.

Software and support

Exact fw has a 2.7-inch touchscreen and original physical20–21 confirms scan-to-email/network-folder menus. Compatible full computer software provides HP Scan or Easy Scan; historical OS lists are not current blanket guarantees. Folder delivery requires enabled feature, shared accessible network path, credentials and Save and Test. Email requires SMTP server/port/authentication/encryption and tested profile, with actual provider settings verified. Both reviewed panel delivery procedures start on glass. Four-digit destination PINs and administrator passwords are not held-print job release, which remains unknown.

Electrical edition and setup

Discontinued exact US G3Q60A#BGJ, 110–127 V at 50/60 Hz; regional 220–240-V editions separate, do not convert voltages. Exact US closed body 16.66 W × 11.34 D × 11 H inches, maximum 16.66 × 20.13 × 16.68; listed 16.76 lb has unstated cartridge basis, not package 22.4 lb. Generic guide with-cartridge weight 22.5–23.4 lb differs and is not silently substituted. Allow open scanner, feeder, paper, supplies and cables. Exact US box includes USB/phone cables. Fax requires actual suitable line configuration, separate from IP networking.
