LaserJet Pro MFP M26nw (T0L50A; US reference)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A light-use compatible desktop needing black documents and occasional flatbed color scans without a feeder workflow.

The main tradeoff

Originals must be placed on the glass individually, and printed second sides require manual refeeding. Legacy Wireless Direct is not tagged as standard Wi-Fi Direct.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can a USB desktop save a color Letter scan while the printer itself prints in black?

Qualifies with earlier references enabled and compatible full HP software. The original scanner specification supports color Letter/A4 capture on the glass; printed output remains monochrome.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can an Ethernet desktop automatically feed a batch of originals?

Fails. This is a flatbed-only configuration with no document feeder.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can Wi-Fi automatically print both sides of a report?

Fails. The documented two-sided printing routine requires the user to reload the first-side stack.

Black documents with occasional color capture

The HP LaserJet Pro MFP M26nw fits light desktop work where printed documents are monochrome and scanning happens one original at a time. It has USB, Ethernet and infrastructure Wi-Fi, but its flatbed-only design is the deciding limitation. A pile of loose originals still needs individual placement and handling.

HP's exact US T0L50A page explicitly marks it discontinued. This is an earlier-model reference, not a claim about current stock or software support on every new computer. Verify the actual regional electrical plate and the complete print-and-scan installation before choosing an offered machine.

A color scanner does not produce color prints

The original technical insert expressly supports color scanning on the flatbed, with Letter and A4 originals. Printed output is black only. That combination can suit colored receipts or documents that must be saved electronically while ordinary correspondence is printed in monochrome.

In the original Windows routine, the user places an original on the glass, opens HP Scan on the computer, chooses a shortcut and saves a file or sends the image to an application. Check that complete workflow with the intended software. A working print queue alone does not demonstrate a usable scanner installation.

The glass is not Legal-sized. Legal printing therefore does not establish Legal capture, and there is no feeder to provide an alternative route. For regular multipage or two-sided originals, compare a model with the actual feeder and duplex-scanning method documented, rather than relying on the general multifunction label.

Desktop networking and mobile printing are separate routines

A local USB arrangement can support a compatible desktop's ordinary printing and HP Scan workflow. Ethernet or infrastructure Wi-Fi uses the full desktop installation on the intended network. The original software includes a connection-reconfiguration routine when changing between USB and network arrangements.

Mopria is positively listed for mobile printing on a suitable shared network. That mobile print route does not automatically gain the desktop application's scanning controls. AirPrint remains unconfirmed here; a generic troubleshooting link appearing on a support page is insufficient evidence for a specific model feature.

The manual also describes legacy Wireless Direct. It is kept distinct from the standard Wi-Fi Direct connection option in this finder. An old cloud-printing reference is likewise not a promise that a retired service still works. Choose the actual local route you intend to use and confirm it end to end.

Manual second sides require attention

The printer has a 150-sheet ordinary input. Its source material establishes Letter, Legal and A4 printing, but does not establish a separate full-stack capacity for each selected size in this assessment. Do not use the overall headline as an unsupported promise for every stock arrangement.

Two-sided printing is manual. The original Windows instructions print the first sides, then return the stack printed-side down and top edge first before continuing. For occasional reports, that may be manageable; for unattended two-sided batches, it changes the amount of attention the printer requires.

Envelope printing has its own paper-type selection and one-sided loading routine. Use the specified orientation and suitable envelopes, and verify a small sample before a larger mailing. The ordinary input count is not an envelope capacity.

Judge the light-use role and the complete installed footprint

HP declares up to 19 ISO pages per minute on Letter, separately from 18 on A4. Its recommended monthly range is 100 to 1,000 pages, while 5,000 is the maximum duty figure. These are maker declarations rather than measured performance for this review; the maximum is not a sustained workload recommendation.

The published body is about 16.54 by 10.47 by 10 inches, with larger dimensions needed when opened for operation. Allow room to load paper and lift the scanner lid. The included introductory cartridge is declared around 500 pages, while replacement identity is 79A CF279A; no live running cost is calculated.

Choose the M26nw for proven local black printing and occasional color flatbed capture. If automatic paper turning, batch originals or fax are routine essentials, its hardware arrangement is the wrong fit.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The exact HP table declares ISO 19 Letter ppm and 18 A4 ppm. Recommended 100–1,000 monthly pages is separate from the 5,000-page maximum duty. No automatic-duplex speed is invented.

Paper handling

One ordinary 150-sheet input; exact size-specific150 capacities not established, so capacity map stays empty. US exact source lists Letter/Legal; model table lists A4. Original manual envelope routine selects media type and loads face-up, return-address end first; one-sided. Manual duplex prints first sides, then reloads printed-side down/top first.

Scanning arrangement

Flatbed-only scanner supports Letter/A4, maximum 216×297 mm; Legal input printing does not make the glass Legal-sized. Original insert expressly scans in color, despite black-only printing/copy output. No ADF or automatic two-sided capture. Compatible HP Scan saves a file or sends it to an application; originals are loaded individually on glass.

Computer and mobile connections

Standard USB 2.0, Ethernet and infrastructure 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi are included. Full desktop HP software supports USB and network reconfiguration; HP Scan is the computer capture path. The current exact source says Fast Ethernet at 10/100, while the older insert says 10/100/1000, so no Gigabit promise is made. Legacy Wireless Direct is kept outside the named standard Wi-Fi Direct option.

Supplies and declared yields

Preinstalled introductory black cartridge is declared around500 pages without independently established yield basis here; replacement79A CF279A confirmed, replacement yield left unquantified. No running cost or actual remaining toner claimed.

Software and support

Use actually compatible full HP desktop software for print and scan; driver-only server installs do not establish scanning. Mopria is positively listed for shared-network printing, represented separately without borrowing desktop scan. AirPrint unknown; generic support links are not proof. EWS administrative password is not job-release PIN. Retired ePrint availability not promised.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact US T0L50A is explicitly discontinued; no unverified #BGJ code is invented. Body dimensions are 420×266×254 mm, mechanically converted to 16.54×10.47×10 inches. Weight is 8 kg, about 17.64 lb, with cartridge basis unestablished. Maximum open dimensions differ. The regional power table explicitly says the printer is not dual voltage and that its electrical edition depends on the option code, so actual unit US mains suitability remains unknown.
