bizhub C368 (U.S. 120V base configuration)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible Ethernet desktop work needing large color scans, copying and password-held output from the base machine.

The main tradeoff

Automatic feeders, telephone fax, wireless LAN and finishing are options; the single-pass scanning headline describes an expanded configuration.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the base C368 combine Ethernet color scanning from A3 glass, automatic print duplex and password-held desktop jobs?

Yes, with compatible Windows printing and a configured Ethernet SMB computer destination. The A3 glass, automatic print duplex and 250 GB HDD are included; Secure Print uses a document ID and password at the panel.

Does the ordinary base include the single-pass feeder behind the 160-image scanning headline?

No. Both the reversing DF-629 and dual-scan DF-704 are optional. The base is assessed with its stationary glass, without an included automatic feeder.

Does the basic C368 include telephone fax as well as copying and computer scanning?

No. Telephone fax needs the optional fax-board arrangement. A generic fax menu or an expanded system photograph does not establish an installed board.

Specify the scanner configuration before choosing a C368

The Konica Minolta bizhub C368 is an earlier US color laser multifunction platform with an A3/11 × 17-inch stationary scanner, copier and large-format printer. Its most consequential configuration choice sits above the scanner glass: neither of the two advertised automatic document feeders is included in the base machine.

The optional DF-629 reverses originals to capture their second sides. The optional DF-704 uses dual scanning, and is the configuration behind the 160-image-per-minute headline. Both hold up to 100 originals. A photograph with a feeder fitted does not establish which one a particular machine includes.

The base glass remains useful for large originals

The actual guide explicitly permits originals up to 11 × 17 inches/A3, including sheets, books and objects within its weight restriction. This makes the glass relevant to drawings, facing pages and originals that should not pass through rollers. Copies and color network scans do not depend on buying a feeder.

For computer delivery, the documented Ethernet SMB routine saves the converted file into a shared folder. Configure the machine's network address, destination, account and folder permissions. Select the actual color and scan-size settings; a higher resolution also creates more data and can lengthen transmission.

Network TWAIN is another separately documented computer route. Saving a scan to a USB memory device is different from connecting a computer by USB, so this assessment does not transfer the Ethernet scanner workflow into its USB printing plan.

Large paper support comes with source and material rules

The ordinary input comprises two 500-sheet trays and a 150-sheet bypass, totaling 1,150 sheets. The US original gives different maximum formats for the two trays, with the second extending to 12 × 18 inches. Do not treat the much larger advertised maximum capacity as an included supply of drawers.

Automatic print duplex is built in. The operating specification names A3 and 11 × 17-inch output among its supported formats and gives a separate 52–256 gsm duplex range. Bypass acceptance of heavier stock does not make that stock suitable for automatic two-sided handling.

Banner printing has a separate computer procedure and machine setting. Envelopes also require their instructed bypass handling and suitable storage; the guide warns that construction and environment can cause wrinkles or printing errors.

Confidential release is a genuine included desktop routine

The standard 250 GB hard disk distinguishes this machine from models that advertise held jobs only after a storage upgrade. In the Windows driver, select Secure Print, assign a document ID and password, and send the job. It remains in the Secure Print User Box until the panel receives the required credentials.

This is different from an administrator password, general user authentication or optional copy-protection markings. Set the deletion interval deliberately and understand the panel release procedure. Native AirPrint is named by the US brochure, but its network printing support is not credited with the desktop driver's confidential release workflow.

Fax, wireless and finishing change the installed system

Telephone fax needs the specified optional fax-board arrangement. Wireless LAN, booklet making, stapling, additional paper drawers and several OCR or file-format enhancements also have separate requirements. Read an installed accessory list rather than treating a long system feature menu as the contents of every C368.

The US sheet declares 36 ppm Letter color/black print/copy output, with size-dependent rates in the guide. Its 125,000-page monthly figure is maximum duty rather than a recommended workload. Verify supplies, compatible software and the electrical label, and allow considerably more space than the unit body for extended trays, the chosen scanner top and service access.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The US original declares up to 36 ppm Letter color/black print/copy and separately 36 ppm automatic duplex. The actual guide calls its size-dependent table copy speed. Without an explicit one-sided printing label, strict Letter simplex fields remain unknown. The 125000-page monthly figure is maximum duty, not recommended volume.

Paper handling

Included input is two 500-sheet trays plus a 150-sheet bypass. The exact guide positively names the main-unit and non-stack automatic duplex sizes, including A3 and 11 × 17 inches, with 52–256 gsm duplex limits. The combined 1150-sheet figure is retained separately from exact-size input capacity, which is not assigned. Large-capacity drawers and finishers are optional.

Scanning arrangement

The base has an A3/11 × 17-inch color stationary scanner and copier. Both 100-original feeders are options: DF-629 reverses originals, while DF-704 provides dual single-pass scanning. Neither feeder nor its 160-image headline is counted in the ordinary configuration. Ethernet SMB Send delivers the scanned file to a computer shared folder; computer USB scanning is not inferred from scan-to-USB memory.

Computer and mobile connections

Included Gigabit Ethernet and computer USB support compatible desktop printing. Native AirPrint is expressly named by the US brochure and is kept in a separate network printing plan. UK-212 wireless LAN is an option; Ethernet does not establish included Wi-Fi or native Mopria.

Supplies and declared yields

The US sheet separately declares black toner at 28000 pages and CMY at 26000, plus individual drum/developer lifetimes. These are not treated as measured costs, starter yields or a recommended monthly interval. Finishing, OCR/file-format enhancements and disk mirroring have their own option requirements.

Software and support

The included 250 GB HDD supports the documented Windows Secure Print routine: select Secure Print in the driver, set a document ID and password, then enter those credentials on the panel to release the saved job. Authentication and copy-protection passwords are separate features. This held-job ability is not borrowed into native AirPrint. Telephone fax requires an optional FK-514/FK-515 arrangement.

Electrical edition and setup

The US manufacturer sheet and actual guide identify a 120 V 60 Hz configuration; the guide specifies 12 A. The US body is approximately 24.2 × 27 × 31 inches; guide height is to the original-glass surface, so a fitted feeder changes the installation. Extended trays require roughly 36.875 × 47.8125 inches. Loaded weight remains unknown because the quoted 85 kg is not explicitly a consumables-loaded value.
