magicolor 2400W (120V version)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A verified compatible Windows computer making one-sided Letter, Legal or A4 color documents through USB.

The main tradeoff

The W name does not supply Wi-Fi, and booklet or duplex settings still require the operator to reload the paper.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can a compatible Windows USB setup print color Legal documents with 200 included plain-paper sheets?

Yes. The exact guide documents USB printing, Legal in the sole source and a 200-sheet plain-paper limit. Use the correct size/type and compatible driver.

Does the W name mean the 2400W can join the office Wi-Fi network?

No. Its documented computer interface is USB; W is not evidence of included Wi-Fi or an Ethernet print server.

Will its booklet setting print both sides without reloading paper?

No. The original procedure requires removing and reinserting the first-side output. It is manual duplex and does not satisfy automatic duplex.

The W model is a Windows USB printer

The Konica Minolta magicolor 2400W is an earlier color laser printer designed around its compatible Windows driver. Its original guide documents a computer USB connection. The W in its name is not evidence of wireless networking, and the network capabilities of a magicolor DL sibling should not be transferred to it.

There is no document scanner, copier or fax. It is most relevant as a reference for an existing single-computer printing setup whose driver compatibility can be verified. A USB connector alone does not guarantee that a current computer can supply the software this particular printer expects.

Two-sided printing needs the operator

The actual manual duplex procedure begins in the driver's Setup tab. Choose the required binding or booklet arrangement, print the first sides, remove the output and reload it printed side down. Continue from the computer or the panel as instructed.

That is an assisted manual process, not automatic duplex. Use plain paper and check opacity so the image on one side does not become distracting on the other. The guide warns that a misfeed during this routine requires restarting the procedure rather than assuming the second side resumes at the right place.

One paper source handles the document sizes

The ordinary source holds up to 200 sheets under the stated plain-paper conditions and accepts Letter, Legal and A4. Select the actual size and material in the driver, adjust the guides to the stack and stay below the marked fill limit.

When refilling, remove the remaining sheets and align them with the new stack before reloading. Mixing sizes or paper types is contrary to the operating instructions. The 200-sheet allowance also does not apply to envelopes, thick stock, labels or other special materials.

Envelopes require a fuser adjustment

The original guide gives a specific envelope procedure, including loading direction and a fuser lever adjustment. It permits up to ten suitable envelopes, depending on their construction and thickness. Return that lever to its ordinary position before printing other media.

Use laser-compatible envelopes and avoid transparent windows, metal fasteners and unsuitable sealing materials. The printer's broad media list does not approve continuous production on special stock: the manual warns that exclusive use of such media can impair quality or reduce engine life.

Color speed and consumable life are different questions

The original specification declares a much lower color rate than its monochrome rate. A primarily black-text routine and a run of color documents therefore should not be planned around the same headline number. Startup, processing and the particular document also affect completion time.

Its toner carousel contains four separate colors. Starter and replacement declarations differ, and the drum has its own life. The guide's drum table gives substantially different expectations for continuous and intermittent jobs, as well as color and monochrome output. A long-run consumable figure is not a recommended monthly workload.

Check the actual electrical version and space

The original guide distinguishes a US safety version and separate electrical ranges. This assessment concerns the 120 V version; inspect an existing machine's rating plate before applying it to an imported unit.

The approximately 16.9 by 15.6 by 13.4 inch body needs extra room for the input, output and raised cover. Keep ventilation clear and retain access for changing the drum and rotating toner cartridges. Its body dimensions alone do not describe the complete space needed for normal paper handling. Confirm the exact driver and consumable type before treating this earlier printer as a workable replacement.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The original guide declares 20 ppm monochrome and 5 ppm color for A4/Letter plain paper without an explicit simplex label in the rate cell. Strict one-sided Letter fields remain unknown. No recommended monthly interval or maximum monthly duty is inferred from consumable lives.

Paper handling

One 200-sheet ordinary-paper source accepts Letter, Legal and A4, with 60–90 gsm plain paper. Actual manual duplex requires the user to reload the printed stack; no automatic duplex mechanism is credited. Ten envelopes and smaller special-media stacks have separate instructed limits.

Computer and mobile connections

The W suffix denotes the exact documented Windows driver model, not Wi-Fi. Actual guide specifies USB 1.1/2.0 high-speed computer connection and explicitly warns that the printer cannot be used as a shared printer. USB 1.1 has resolution restrictions that differ between guide revisions. No included Ethernet, Wi-Fi or native mobile route is established.

Supplies and declared yields

The original 01 A guide gives 1500-page CMY and 4500-page black starter toner at 5% coverage, with separate replacement choices. Drum life differs sharply between continuous and intermittent jobs and color versus monochrome. Identify the actual regional consumable type; later manual revisions may differ.

Software and support

Compatible earlier Windows drivers provide color controls, manual duplex and booklet arrangement. The actual manual does not establish native PCL/PostScript or a supported Mac/Linux route, so those are not borrowed from DL siblings. Verify the intended computer and exact driver before use.

Electrical edition and setup

Actual guide includes a U.S. safety-model column and separate 110–127 V 50–60 Hz and 220–240 V specifications; this assessment covers the 120 V version, not an imported high-voltage unit. Body is 16.9 × 15.6 × 13.4 inches. The 19.9 kg printer figure has no clear installed-consumable basis, so loaded mass is unknown. Allow top-cover clearance and extended input/output space.
