Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a compatible Windows USB PagePro 1400W print monochrome Legal documents with 150 included plain-paper sheets?
Yes. The actual source and media instructions document Legal in tray 1 and its 150-sheet ordinary-paper allowance, used through the compatible Windows USB driver.
Explore this need in the finder →Can its Manual Double Sides option print both sides without the operator reloading the stack?
No. The original procedure explicitly requires reloading the first-side output and continuing the second pass. It is not automatic duplex.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the W suffix provide a Wi-Fi network route?
No documented Wi-Fi route is established. The exact original rear diagram and software instructions provide the computer USB connection.

The Konica Minolta PagePro 1400W is an earlier monochrome laser printer with a computer USB connection and a Windows driver workflow. It is a printing-only device: there is no scanner, copier, color output or telephone fax. Its W suffix should not be interpreted as built-in Wi-Fi.
The original software chapter names the Windows versions for which its driver was supplied. Those historical requirements are useful when maintaining an existing setup, but they do not prove compatibility with a current computer. Verify the actual driver before planning a replacement around the connector alone.
Manual Double Sides is a reloading procedure
The Layout tab offers a Manual Double Sides setting, with binding position, image shift and a guide page. After the first sides print, the instructions require removing the remaining blank paper and reinserting the printed output into tray 1, printed side down.
Continue from the computer or the panel as directed. This process uses the operator rather than an automatic duplex mechanism. Use plain paper, check that its opacity is suitable and align the stack carefully before the second pass. The guide warns that a misfeed requires restarting the procedure instead of assuming that the next sheet remains correctly paired.
The input and output totals are different
The single included source holds up to 150 ordinary sheets under the stated paper conditions and accepts Letter, Legal and A4. The plain-paper specification is 60–90 gsm; thicker material follows its own limits rather than that ordinary-paper allowance. Set the driver size and material to match the stack, adjust both guides and remain below the marked maximum.
The output allowance is approximately 100 Letter or A4 sheets, so a full input stack can require attention before every sheet has emerged. Letting output build too high can cause feeding trouble, excessive curl or static-related problems. Neither number is a high-volume unattended-workflow promise.
Special materials have much smaller limits
The actual media chapter provides an instructed envelope routine with up to ten suitable envelopes. It also gives separate limits for thick paper, postcards and transparencies. These quantities are not interchangeable with the ordinary-paper reserve.
Use laser-compatible materials and select the corresponding type in the driver. Envelopes with transparent windows, metal fasteners or unsuitable sealing constructions are excluded. The guide also warns against using this printer exclusively for a special material such as envelopes or transparencies, because that routine can affect quality or engine life.
Proof printing does not establish PIN release
The panel can pause for a proof-print decision and use the Cancel key to continue or reject a job. That is different from retaining a confidential document behind a user PIN. The existence of a button-controlled pause therefore does not establish password-protected release.
Likewise, the USB computer interface supplies no evidence for native AirPrint or a wireless network connection. Keep the documented single-computer route separate from features advertised on other pagepro models.
Check supplies, voltage and working clearance
The guide separates its starter toner, replacement toner and drum expectations. Toner has an ISO yield declaration; drum life assumes continuous printing and can be shorter with intermittent jobs. Those figures are not a recommended monthly page volume, and the fuser and transfer roller remain separate service items.
The closed body is small, but the tray, output and top cover need additional space. Confirm the actual electrical label because the guide distinguishes voltage versions. This assessment concerns the 120 V machine; inspect condition, compatible supplies and driver operation before relying on an earlier unit.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The actual guide separates 17 ppm Letter from 16 ppm A4, but does not explicitly label that rate cell simplex. Strict one-sided Letter rate remains unknown. No recommended monthly interval is inferred from drum, fuser or roller service lives.
Paper handling
Single included source accepts Letter, Legal and A4 with up to 150 ordinary sheets under the stated paper conditions. Output is only 100 Letter/A4 sheets. Actual two-sided printing is manually reloaded plain paper; driver Double Sides does not establish an automatic duplex unit. Suitable envelopes have a separate ten-envelope limit.
Computer and mobile connections
Actual rear diagram and software requirements show a computer USB 2.0 connection with compatible Windows drivers. W is not Wi-Fi. No included Ethernet, Wi-Fi or native mobile-printing route is established. No Mac/Linux support is borrowed from differently controlled pagepro models.
Supplies and declared yields
Actual manufacturer guide declares a 1000-page starter and 2000-page replacement toner under ISO/IEC 19752, separately from the 20000-page continuous drum life. It explicitly warns that intermittent use can shorten toner and drum lives. Fuser and transfer roller are additional service parts.
Software and support
The original Windows Layout tab offers Manual Double Sides, binding and guide-page settings; the operator reinserts first-side output. Proof printing pauses at the panel Cancel key and is distinct from password-protected confidential job release, which remains unestablished.
Electrical edition and setup
Actual guide positively identifies U.S. safety/EMC versions and separately lists 110–127 V 50–60 Hz and 220–240 V. This assessment concerns the 120 V version. Closed body is 13.9 × 10.6 × 9.4 inches, while the opening/tray diagram needs more working space. The extracted mass pairs 6 kg with 2.7 lb inconsistently and lacks a loaded basis, so loaded weight remains unknown.
