Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a Wi-Fi office use monochrome duplex printing, Legal color scanning and copying?
Yes, in the documented infrastructure Wi-Fi setup with compatible software. Both glass and the simplex feeder support Legal; color scanning does not make printed output color.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it scan both sides of a stack automatically?
No. The exact guide reserves automatic simultaneous duplex scanning for other named models; this is the simplex-feeder member.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the complete 350-sheet headline establish that included capacity for Legal?
No. The full100-sheet MP condition is A4/Letter or smaller; the verified Legal minimum uses the 250-sheet included cassette.

The Kyocera ECOSYS M2635dw combines monochrome printing with color scanning, copying and fax hardware. Standard Wi-Fi makes it relevant to an office that cannot conveniently run an Ethernet cable to the printer. USB and wired networking are also documented, so the connection can be chosen around the actual installation.
The key tradeoff is the document feeder. It holds suitable stacks and scans single-sided originals automatically, but it does not provide automatic two-sided scanning. An office regularly digitizing two-sided stacks should choose a model with that separate capability rather than mistake automatic print duplex for scanner duplex.
Use Legal glass or the simplex feeder as appropriate
The original sheet independently gives Legal limits for the 50-sheet automatic document processor and scanner glass. A suitable loose stack can use the feeder, while originals needing individual placement can use the glass. Check the allowed stock and loading line instead of assuming every material fits the nominal stack count.
The operation-guide model footnote limits simultaneous duplex scanning to other named members of the family, excluding M2635dw. Its scanner table also separates those two-sided rates from the common one-sided rates. This is stronger evidence than a generic copier or fax field that happens to mention duplex elsewhere on a product page.
Color scanning and monochrome output are different choices
A color original can be captured digitally without requiring a color printer. That is a practical combination for an office that shares colored documents electronically but prints its own paperwork in black and white. If finished color pages are essential, this output engine does not meet that requirement.
The maker declares 37 pages per minute on Letter, 30 on Legal and 35 on A4 for one-sided output. Scanner images per minute describe a different activity. We have not measured real-job print speed, scan accuracy or the quality of finished pages, so those manufacturer declarations should be compared on like conditions.
The full paper-load figure has a size condition
The standard hardware is a 250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multipurpose tray. The guide explicitly applies the full multipurpose load to A4/Letter or smaller at its stated stock weight. Do not carry that complete 350-sheet headline over to Legal without checking the relevant loading instructions.
For a Legal minimum-capacity requirement, the included cassette provides a positively documented 250-sheet basis; the additional multipurpose Legal stack limit is not established here. The 850-sheet expansion maximum needs optional feeders. Envelope printing and automatic ordinary-paper duplex also have separate media routines.
Choose one supported connection arrangement
The original guide documents computer scanning interfaces for USB, Ethernet and the model's infrastructure Wi-Fi, with compatible software or configured network destinations as appropriate. An SMB folder needs access permissions, and scanning by a desktop application needs the correct supported driver.
AirPrint and Mopria are documented for the compatible network setup. Wi-Fi Direct is a separate peer connection, so every desktop-scan or private-job combination should not simply be borrowed into it. For compatible desktop Private Print, the guide gives a four-digit code and an enabled RAM-disk Job Box; other storage routines have separate SD-card conditions. Fax hardware likewise needs an appropriate telephone arrangement.
Check the actual package and present software
The reviewed inch-model body is approximately 18.71×16.23×17.21 inches, with the guide listing 41.9lb without toner. Leave working space for the feeder, paper paths, cables and maintenance. The reviewed American electrical version is 120V/60Hz, with other-voltage versions separately specified.
The 50,000-page maximum duty is not a recommended monthly workload. Current supply price and component condition also need their own checks rather than a running-cost claim derived from an old brochure. The current manufacturer product reference supports considering the exact model, but it does not promise stock at a seller. Choose it for included wireless and a documented single-sided scanning routine, then verify present software and the offered configuration.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Declared one-sided Letter 37 ppm, Legal 30 ppm, A4 35 ppm. Scanner ipm is a separate measurement; no automatic duplex-scanning rate is assigned to the simplex feeder.
Paper handling
Standard 250-sheet cassette plus 100-sheet multipurpose tray. Full MP capacity is specified for A4/Letter or smaller at 80 gsm. For Legal minimum-capacity checking, 250 sheets are positively supported by the included cassette; the MP Legal stack limit remains unestablished. 850-sheet maximum needs optional feeders.
Scanning arrangement
50-sheet simplex automatic document feeder, with Legal limits for both feeder and glass. Exact operation-guide footnotes exclude M2635dw from automatic simultaneous duplex scanning. Compatible USB/Ethernet/infrastructure Wi-Fi scanning is documented.
Computer and mobile connections
USB computer interface, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct standard. AirPrint/Mopria use the compatible infrastructure-network arrangement. Peer-only computer scan and peer-specific mobile/PIN combinations remain unestablished.
Supplies and declared yields
Current exact US product page identifies TK1152 black toner with a 3,000-page ISO 19752 replacement declaration. No current supply price, remaining life or calculated cost-per-page claim.
Software and support
Compatible desktop-driver Private Print uses four-digit access code and enabled RAM disk. Stored Job/Quick Copy have separate SD-card conditions; confirm present driver and app compatibility.
Electrical edition and setup
Reviewed 120 V/60 Hz/8.7 A model; 220–240 V versions separate. Exact inch-model body 18.71 × 16.23 × 17.21 in, manual weight 41.9 lb without toner. Allow operating clearance; 50,000 duty is not a recommended monthly volume.
