ECOSYS M6635cidnIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

An office needing color output and stacks of two-sided Legal originals, with a verified wired document workflow.

The main tradeoff

A substantial 80.5 lb body before toner, optional wireless and extra drawers, and reduced speed for the highest-resolution setting. Confirm the installed Apple-printing configuration.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it combine USB color printing with Legal flatbed and single-pass two-sided color scanning?

Yes, with the documented compatible USB print/scan software. The original brochure explicitly identifies this exact37 ppm model family as100-sheet single-pass, and the specification independently supports Legal glass.

Does the base package meet a 1850-sheet included-capacity requirement?

No.350 sheets are standard; the 1850 maximum requires optional paper feeders.

Can a standard wired color setup use supported desktop PIN release?

The compatible desktop driver and configured Job Box/RAM disk support a four-digit release code. This is separate from mobile submission or optional long-term storage modes.

Color output and a genuinely single-pass feeder

The Kyocera ECOSYS M6635cidn is a color multifunction printer with scanning, copying and fax hardware. Its particularly useful document-handling feature is the standard 100-sheet feeder: the original American brochure explicitly says the 37ppm MFPs scan two-sided originals in a single pass. That gives the feeder method a firmer basis than the DSDP name alone.

It suits an office that wants color pages and regularly digitizes suitable stacks of two-sided originals. Check the whole installation before choosing it, though. The documented standard connections are USB and Ethernet, and this is a substantial office machine rather than a lightweight personal printer.

Do not borrow the neighboring model's feeder

The same brochure contrasts the 100-sheet single-pass processor on the 37ppm models with a 75-sheet reversing feeder on the 32ppm model. Those are meaningful differences within a closely related family. The exact M6635cidn column confirms both its fax-equipped configuration and the larger feeder.

The specification independently gives Legal limits for both the document processor and scanner glass. Use the feeder for suitable loose originals and the glass for originals that should be placed individually. Loading capacity still follows the permitted stock and fill line; a nominal 100-sheet stack is not a promise for every material.

The supplied paper package is smaller than the expansion headline

The standard input arrangement totals 350 sheets, from a 250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multipurpose tray. The 1,850-sheet maximum requires optional feeders. Check the actual drawers in the package before comparing capacities or planning the installed height.

Automatic print duplex is standard through the stated Legal-size range and paper weights. The multipurpose tray provides an instructed envelope routine, which is different from ordinary-paper duplex handling. A print-duplex feature does not establish a scanner method; on this model the single-pass scanner has its own independent evidence.

Use the speed for the job you actually make

The maker declares 37 pages per minute on Letter, 30 on Legal and 35 on A4 for one-sided black or color output. It separately declares duplex rates of 18, 15 and 17 pages per minute for those sizes. Two-sided printing should therefore be compared on its own stated condition.

True 1200×1200dpi output carries a reduced-speed footnote. Scanner images per minute also use separate color and resolution conditions. These declarations describe different activities and should not be merged into one speed promise. We have not measured the printer's throughput, output quality or scan accuracy.

Wired functions and optional services have different dependencies

The operation guide documents USB and Ethernet computer-scanning interfaces, with compatible software and configured destinations as appropriate. A scan to an SMB folder needs network permissions; fax hardware needs the correct telephone arrangement. The supported desktop driver also provides a four-digit Private Print release routine with the appropriate Job Box and RAM-disk setup.

Wireless IB-36 and IB-51 interfaces are optional. The American sheet specifically makes AirPrint and Wi-Fi Direct conditional on IB-36, so verify that configuration if Apple printing is decisive. Mopria is separately documented for a suitable network setup. HyPAS applications, extended storage routines and OCR features also have their own stated options; a list of possibilities does not mean every service is included or presently available.

Check space, lifting and the actual electrical version

The guide lists a body about 18.9×22.72×24.39 inches and a weight of 80.5lb without toner. Leave additional room for trays, feeder access, cables and servicing, and plan installation using the exact lifting instructions. Optional drawers change the physical arrangement further.

The reviewed American configuration is 120V/60Hz; other-voltage versions are separately specified. The 100,000-page duty figure is a maximum, not a recommended monthly workload. Exact regional toner references and declared yields are useful ownership checks, but they do not establish present cost or the condition of an older machine. Choose this model for its documented color and single-pass document routine, then verify the offered package and current software.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared black/color one-sided rates: 37 ppm Letter, 30 ppm Legal, 35 ppm A4; duplex 18/15/17 respectively. True 1200 × 1200 output is at reduced speed. Scanner ipm have separate color/resolution conditions.

Paper handling

Standard 250-sheet cassette plus 100-sheet multipurpose tray, 350 total at stated ordinary-paper condition. 1,850 maximum needs optional PF5100 feeders. Exact guide names Letter/Legal/A4 in both supplied paper paths.

Scanning arrangement

100-sheet single-pass automatic duplex processor positively identified in original brochure. Both DP and glass support Legal. Guide scanner interfaces explicitly include Ethernet and USB with compatible software/destinations.

Computer and mobile connections

USB computer and Gigabit Ethernet standard; wireless IB36/IB51 optional. American sheet makes AirPrint and Wi-Fi Direct conditional on IB36; an included standard AirPrint route is not assigned from a generic guide mention. Mopria is documented separately.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact US item-code reference identifies TK5282K replacement 13,000 pages and TK5282C/M/Y 11,000 each, with separate initial 6,000 black/5,000 color declarations under ISO 19798. No present running-cost or remaining-life claim.

Software and support

Compatible desktop-driver four-digit Private Print uses the configured Job Box/RAM disk. Stored Job/Quick Copy and HyPAS application support have separate optional-storage conditions; OCR features require the stated scan extension.

Electrical edition and setup

Reviewed 120 V/60 Hz/10.3 A configuration, other voltages separate. Exact guide body 18.9 × 22.72 × 24.39 in and 80.5 lb without toner. Allow operating/lifting clearance; 100,000 maximum duty is not recommended monthly workload.
