The Lexmark C534dtn is a color laser printer whose supplied configuration includes an extra 550-sheet drawer. Together with the 250-sheet base drawer and 100-sheet multipurpose feeder, US part 34A0200 provides 900 ordinary-paper sheets at the maker's 75-gsm or 20-pound basis. It also includes USB, Ethernet, automatic duplex and a numeric keypad for documented confidential printing.
The larger paper arrangement is the deciding distinction from the C534dn. It does not increase the recommended monthly range, which remains 1,500–4,700 pages. Nor does it add scanning, copying or fax. The one-sided Letter declarations are separately up to 24 black or 22 color pages per minute.
Verify that the supplied drawer is actually present
The dtn specification lists the extra 550-sheet drawer as standard hardware and gives 900 sheets as both standard and maximum input. An offered printer missing that drawer no longer matches this supplied arrangement. Check the physical installation and make sure the driver recognizes the actual sources.
The original media table supports Letter, Legal and A4 ordinary one-sided printing in all three paths. Adjust the guides and select the loaded size and type accurately. If the drawers carry matching paper for a linked run, give them matching settings; use different accurate types when keeping special stock separate.
The multipurpose feeder contributes 100 ordinary sheets only while loaded for that purpose. Suitable envelopes replace its ordinary load for a separate one-sided job, with the specified flap-up orientation and Envelope settings. Their stated capacity is ten envelopes. Neither a special-media load nor a manual feed should be counted again as additional ordinary capacity.
The output bin holds a separate 250 sheets. A full 900-sheet input arrangement can therefore need output collection several times. The exact dtn body is 24 inches high, 17.3 wide and 22 deep, weighing 64 pounds; allow further room for the feeder, trays, doors and supply access.
Keep automatic duplex tied to confirmed media
The internal automatic-duplex mechanism is established by the exact model specification. The original guide supports ordinary duplex paper from 75 to 120 gsm and excludes envelopes, card stock, labels and transparencies from that path. General one-sided media acceptance does not establish two-sided capability.
The guide explicitly labels its size-table measurements as simplex and supplies a minimum duplex size without a complete model-specific duplex-size list. Confirm the intended size and compatible software before choosing the printer for a particular two-sided document requirement. Larger input capacity does not resolve that missing size evidence.
Use computer connections and PIN release deliberately
USB Type-B supplies local computer printing, while 10/100 Ethernet provides wired sharing. Print a network setup page, verify Connected status and install the correct queue. Wireless, gigabit, parallel and serial arrangements require optional hardware. Historical protocol and software lists do not establish current operating-system, AirPrint or Mopria support.
Compatible Windows Print and Hold or Macintosh Job Routing software can submit a confidential job with a user name and four-digit PIN. Release it locally through Held Jobs and the numeric keypad. Jobs occupy printer memory and can be deleted under memory pressure. Separate whole-printer lockout and disk-encryption functions require an installed, working optional hard disk.
The front USB Direct host socket handles documented flash-drive output with its own file and device restrictions. It is not the computer interface or a scanner. The four-line backlit panel is grayscale, independently of the engine's color printing.
Inspect supplies and the condition of the earlier printer
The exact US supplied Return Program starter toner declares 6,000 black and composite CMY pages. Replacement declarations include 4,000 or 8,000 black and 3,000, 5,000 or 7,000 CMY under ISO/IEC 19798 on the maker's continuous-print basis. Confirm exact cartridge compatibility and program conditions, plus the separate photoconductors, waste toner box, transfer belt and fuser.
The 100,000-page maximum monthly duty figure does not replace the recommended 4,700-page ceiling. Lexmark marks this model discontinued. Check its electrical label, proper cord, software, fuser voltage and physical condition before reuse.
